Excellent place. Very intimate speakeasy vibe about it. Friendly staff. The artists are right next to you while you eat great food and even came to have a chat with us afterwards as we were the last table left. I thought the price was fine for what you get. You could spend a fortune in here if you hit the wine / whiskey menus, but it'd still be worth it. We saw Lucy Merrilyn, who was incredible. A real up and coming star.

Went there for a live jazz/blues brunch on a Sunday and I couldn't recommend it more highly. Music was fantastic, drinks great and food tasty (I would prefer to see a bit more variety on offer but that's not big issue). Also staff is really friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere is great.

Absolutely fabulous Valentine’s supper. Wonderful authentic ambience. Great service. Wonderful food. Amazing genuinely talented jazz trio. And compared to some in same area, better value too. We will be back! :)

Six Stars! The staff? Polite, professional, helpful friendly. The food? Fantastic Balanced. Music? Live jazz- wow! Prices? Reasonable. Environment? Vintage Classy Cosy. A memorable experience- a short trip to 1920s New Orleans alcohol prohibition times.

I enjoyed my visit to Boisdale in Bishopsgate. It's easy to miss the narrow Dickensian alleyway which is probably why Boisdale doesn't draw the city masses to its Jacobean-style establishment. Conversation can flow here without the need to shout over the music. Tartan and dark aged wood dominates the smart bar at ground level. This is the place for people who appreciate the style of years gone by. The dark red walls give a kinda sexy vibe if you ask me. Hip kids, you might want to stay in Shoreditch which is just 10 minutes walk away. Dinner is served on the floor below. Judgement on that will be passed on another date. The deep citrusy notes of the B.O.B Sangria is a good starter. But I get the feeling that this is the sort of place where whiskey and cigars rule the roost. Like I said, for people with taste that can only be refined over the years. This is a place for grown-ups. Dates, business talks or just a chill evening with a glass of your favourite red works just as well here at Boisdale in Bishopsgate.

Blink and you'll miss it. This place is down an alley that's dimly lit, even in bright sunshine. Once you get inside, though, the ambiance is one of cosy seclusion. The tapas work quite well as starters, provided there are enough of you. The real stars of the show are the mains, though. I can personally recommend the Deluxe (but bring an appetite!). Sadly no room for desserts 😔 Overall, not cheap, but definitely worth it!
