Simple 100% gluten free outlet in bustling Soho. Blink and you'd miss it. Small premises as is usual in central London so best to walk in rather than try an online booking (they always reserve tables for walk ins).
Everything here is GF including the desserts and beers, so it's a paradise for coeliacs but be prepared to pay through the nose!
For starters, we ordered arancini, a bread assortment and asparagus + bacon croquettes -- all were okay and a treat for our kids who had never eaten Italian on account of all the gluten.
Mains included pink ravioli, spaghetti bolognaise and basil tagliatelle... all were sensational and very substantial portions.
Dessert was the biggest winner though. Our little coeliacs tried tiramisu for the first time and loved it! We also ordered the hazelnut cake and dessert trio. The trio was very small and not really worth the money tbh, but seemed to be enough for our 10yo.
All up, our bill came to £145 -- crazy expensive for what we had but the location isn't cheap and the cost of a dedicated gluten free kitchen just pushes prices up further.
Leggero is an awesome find for coeliacs and I highly recommend at least trying it out. Just beware that it won't leave you with much spare change.
Service here is friendly and chatty and nowhere near as stuffy as some Soho establishments. Full marks for efficiency too.

One of my favorite healthy Italian food in London. Loved the homemade pink ravioli. It was such a unique experience. I’ve never tried gluten free or healthy Italian food before. Nice guilt free, healthy and delicious food!

Service was friendly. Food was delicious, although the servings for the pasta were quite small. So good you wouldn't know it was gluten free! Make sure you book if you go on a Saturday night, the place was rammed when we were there.

Last August, I discovered a small and cosy establishment called La Polenteria in the midst of bustling Soho. I loved the service and the interesting flavours, and told myself I would come back and try their new spring menu. And whilst London spring has not quite sprung yet, I decided to give it a go nonetheless!

London’s restaurant scene is amazing, but also baffling. There are pop-ups that sell fried crickets, dinners served atop cranes, and that’s before we even get to the phenomenon of establishments that focus their entire menu around one ingredient or idea. La Polenteria has polenta at the heart of 95% of their dishes. Baked, fried, boiled, shaped, spread… you name it, they do it! I recently downloaded the Zomato app, and La Polenteria popped up when I was searching for a place in Soho. A few taps later, I had a reservation for that same evening – I love efficiency.

Last night we popped into La Polenteria for a quick pre-comedy gig dinner. I love polenta but even so I  don't make it as often as I could. It is normally compared to mashed potato which is a reasonable comparison but it seems a bit more sophisticated than that to me. The USP of La Polenteria is that every dish contains polenta. I was excited to find out if they could pull off such a menu: would it be too restrictive or would it serve as a platform for unbridled creativity? We started off with some of the polentini or "polenta bites". Three small slabs of grilled polenta serving as vessels for typically delicious Italian toppings. Our favourite was the gorgonzola and walnut combination. We were off to a good start. For main there was no way I could resist the wild boar ragu with wet polenta. The wet polenta wasn't as wet I was expecting but it didn't really matter .It was delicious. The ragu had a real depth of flavour and the polenta working in harmony as a comforting partner. On a dan

Lovely place, lovely people, delicious food, that's all that was waiting for me at La Polenteria. I've been given the opportunity by Alexandra to test it out and, oh boy, I'm in love!! Polenta is a very healthy and versatile food, easy to match with almost everything and as an italian in London I didn't expect to be ever able to eat it out, but the people here are showing everyone how delicious it could be and are winning the challenge. I can't tell you what to eat as you have to go with what you like, but trust me if I say that you will not be disappointed. The place per se it is cozy and well suited for dates, but good friends will enjoy eating here nontheless, granted that you book ahead!

Absolutely wonderful food, fantastic service and a lovely, cosy atmosphere. The variety of vegetarian dishes on offer is brilliant.

We thought it might be too much to have three courses all with a polenta base but the inventiveness and range of flavours of each dish easily put any minor doubts to bed.

We shared two starters which were great to introduce this North Italian dish. the Polenta Bruschetta with vines tomatoes and the Hot Creamy polenta with egg, pepper, scamorza cheese (amazing!), asparagus and truffle oil.

For mains we went for the Grilled Tomino Cheese, Chestnut Cream, Fig Jam & Honey Polenta and the Castelmagno cheese with Truffle Oil Gnocchi. We went quite big for the cheesy dishes but the serving sizes were spot on and the dishes weren't too heavy - leaving just enough room for desert.

We had couple of glasses of red wine (Barbera) which was light - perfect with the food.  Desert was stracciatella ice cream with polenta bites and nutella, with coconut sprinkled on top.

La Polenteria would be perfect for a date, a chilled lunch, or just a catch-up between friends. Wholeheartedly recommend this place - especially for those looking for Italian cuisine different from the usual fare you find in the UK.

The entire menu is gluten free, but you would never guess from the taste. It's a small, informal restaurant, but very popular, especially pre show so it's worth booking ahead as the food is amazing! The service is fast and friendly. They offer wine matching to go with meals and have a selection of fresh desserts. Everything is freshly made, and you can tell. The toilets are downstairs, which could be a problem if you have limited mobility.

The Mrs booked us a table here during a trip to London. I'm coeliac, and she's lactose intolerant, and whilst they were able to cater for her easily, it's really strange to go into a restaurant and know as a coeliac you're safe to order whatever you want from the menu. Really enjoyed it. Freshly made pasta (had fresh ravioli) and even tiramisu for dessert. Loved it, and have recommended it to others since.

Amazing experience, highly recommended! Everything is gluten-free but for the first time, we couldn't tell! The bread was super light and not stodgy at all! We had the bread selection and it was all incredible. Similarly, the pasta was also incredible! We came with a friend who is celiac but would definitely come again on our own :) The staff was also great and service good.

Very safe gluten free place with decent pasta. Minus one star as some part of my pasta was a bit cold. Also flat white was ... not really a flat white haha. But pasta is well made and sauce is tasty. Would love to try other pastas and dessert they have. Friendly staff. Not too busy for lunch.

This cosy small restaurant near SOHO has a homy atmosphere serving gluten-free pasta and other authentic Italian dishes. Leggero in Italian means ‘light’ and their motto is: Eat Light, Live Leggero - that’s exactly the vibe I got from all the food. What did we try? Homemade bruschetta trio - tomato/cannellini beans/ gorgonzola, pear and lavender honey
Arancina Bolognese
Caserecce pasta with pesto and burrata cream
Pink Beetroot Ravioli stuffed with gorgonzola I have to say that the gorgonzola and honey bruschetta was absolutely delicious and I could easily have five of those :D The Caserecce pasta was perfectly cooked with burrata cream and pesto on top. I also tried the beeetroot ravioli and the melted gorgonzola inside…mmm. I haven’t had a proper Italian food for ages and this was just soo good. And I wasn’t leaving with heavy stomach feeling absolutely stuffed - I just felt happy and LEGGERO.

Very nice atmosphere and welcoming staff. The menu was all gluten-free with vegetarian, vegan and dairy-Free options. The cuisine is Italian style with a good choice of starters (the lamb meatballs were delicious), small plates (mostly meat or seafood) and mains (ravioli and tagliatelle). My main plate was pink ravioli with rocket and pistachio pesto. It was really good but too salty for me taste. The beer choice was very limited as it happened that all of them ran out except for the peroni.
