🚇Charing Cross 🍺 £5.75 Amstel ❤️ An easygoing backstreet Covent Garden pub. . Located in a quiet side street on the edge of Covent Garden you will find The Lemon Tree pub. The nearest station is Charing Cross which is just around the corner on The Strand. . It is thought this pub takes its name from lemons sold at the nearby former Covent Garden market, this pub dates from the mid-18th century, it was rebuilt around mid 19th century. . This is a small pub which in the main modern in decoration. The bar area is full of poser tables and ledges to perch at, at the far end of the bar is the curved servery which is illuminated by stylish copper pendants. On the wall is a massage map called “A ballon view of London “ which depicts London’s streets of old. Upstairs is an additional contemporary lounge bar which is a cosy affair and quieter than the humdrum of the main bar on the ground floor. . The beer line up was good, there are five cask handles but only three were available on the day we visited. Not venturing to far off piste, we ordered a couple pints of Amstel. Our pints were decent and pleasingly under six quid considering the area. The food menu here is Thai, the food receives favourable reviews, Pad Thai costs around £12 depending on your choice. . We arrived around 6pm on a Saturday, the pub was very busy with predominantly drinkers, there were a few punters enjoying the Thai cuisine which smelt great. There was a nice buzz about the place generated by the groups of day trippers and theatre goers wetting their whistles. The service was on point, the staff coped admirably with rush and flow of customers. . The Lemon Tree is probably the least busiest pub around Covent Garden due to its location, though this isn’t a bad thing as The Marquis and The Harp just around the corner get absolutely rammed. The beer and food here were great and the atmosphere enjoyable. If you’re in and around Covent Garden, be sure to check this pub out. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 29.04.23

Great hidden gem. The Thai food was delicious and such a decent price for the location. Definitely recommend. Hubby said he could eat his dish 3 or 4 times over.

Dodging the hordes of people, we didn't think we would find any place for dinner that wasn't packed. What a nice surprise to find The Lemon Tree! A small nice Thai restaurant upstairs from the bar, we were sure it couldn't be any good. The food and atmosphere was fantastic! There are only about 6 tables, but the service was excellent and the food delicious! I had the fried rice with chicken, and my wife had the pad Thai. They were both excellent, filled with vegetables and large chunks of chicken. The prices were very reasonable. I would recommend you give this quaint restaurant a try. Highly recommended!

Good single bar pub near Trafalgar Square. Three cask beers on handpump when I last visited. Wooden shelf provides support for outside drinking in the very quiet street. Thai fusion cuisine.

A good pub on the ground floor and the small room upstairs with tables so don't expect much if you're sitting down to dine. On the other hand the service is first class and the menu allows a good selection of Thai dishes. The food is excellent with good portions so we were delighted. Definitely go back there.

Really nice pub. I used to work on this road. I originally went to go into the Marquis, which was rammed, but Lemon Tree was chilled, and we found seats. Plus, there is an amazing framed representation of London from air balloon, which could have you beguiled for quite some time!

Love this little gem of a pub! Suggested by a friend of mine, due to it serving tasty Thai food upstairs. Food is reasonable in cost and the drinks aren't bad either. I've been a lot since it was shown to me 😊
