Enjoying a nice steak is one of the pleasures of life. Sophie's steakhouse not only promises (and delivers) brilliant steaks that melt in your mouth but also amazing sides and desserts.
I was very impressed with the whole menu but my favourite things were the chateaubriand steak, the courgettes, the fried squid and the cheesecake. I also really enjoyed the cocktails and the attention to detail the bar staff put into making them.
This is definitely a place I'll be recommending to friends as I can guarantee that whatever they pick will be high quality and absolutely delicious!
When I arrived they indicated a waiting time of fourty-five minutes. One and a half hours later, our number was called up. In truth the bar was so 'happening' that we didn't mind. We sat down and went through the menu. The menu doesn't change every other week which I like. You know what to expect. Of course there is the selection of steaks but there is also a good selection of other dishes. So if you are not a steak lover there is no need to worry, you won't be disappointed.
I had heard great things about Sophie’s – in particular – their express lunch menu: 2 courses for only £11.50 and that includes a choice for a small slab of ribeye (me favourite cut). This steakhouse is abit of a cult favourite and it’s high time I paid a
I came here on a Saturday evening with a friend and unsurprisingly it was extremely busy, with customers even waiting outside. Annoyingly this place doesn't let you book so we knew we would probably have to wait a while. The hostess told it would be around half an hour and pointed us to the bustling bar area.
We ordered two 10 oz martini cocktails. My friend ordered a classic margarita and I chose a elderflower and pear vodka martini. The bar area was so busy that we could barely even stand in it, let alone sit, but the cocktails were amazing which made waiting less bad. They were served in huge glasses and though quite pricey, £12 each, were definitely worth due to the larger size and amazing taste!
We ended waiting an hour for our table, which was quite annoying but to be expected in this popular spot on a Saturday night. When we sat down we were brought some delicious thick cut salami, which was free to nibble on whilst you checked out the menu.
We decided to share a starter of scallops and pancetta with a pea purée. The scallops arrived really quickly and were really delicious. The pancetta and pea purée complimented them perfectly, bring a hint of salt and sweet to the scallops.
We ended up choosing a 16 oz Cote de Boeuf also to share between us, which came with two sides so we chose fries and mac and cheese. Our waitress was extremely sweet and kept checking up on us, which was refreshing in an up market restaurant in which I find staff can often be very rude. Our steak was amazing, cooked to perfection and our sides were delicious and indulgent.
We finished with some ice cream in a brandy snap basket, choosing a scoop of chocolate, strawberry and kit Kat. The kit Kat flavour was brilliant, a combo of vanilla ice cream and kit Kat chunks. Overall a great meal, lovely staff, delicious drinks, only let down by the extremely long waiting time and overcrowded bar.
My experience here was outstanding from start to finish. A friend and I arrived at this Chelsea hotspot on a Saturday night and were excited by the promising stream of taxi’s that kept stopping outside the venue, unveiling a stream of the restaurants stylish customers.
We hadn’t made a booking but were well looked after by the restaurants friendly hostess who showed us to the bar area, and regularly came to reassure us that we our table would be ready soon. While we waited we indulged in two of the restaurants signature 10oz Martinis; I had mine margarita style which was subtle but still managed to maintain that distinctive margarita flavour. My friends was flavoured with elderflower and topped up with champagne and had a sweet and delicious flavour, thoroughly recommended.
After a half hour wait we were shown to our table. Our food came quickly and was nothing short of incredible. We shared the scallops to start which were well cooked and came with pea puree and pancetta. This was followed by a 24 oz Forerib steak that came on a raised wooden platform and was to be shared between the two of us. It was probably the best steak I have ever had, beautifully cooked with a gorgeous flavour. It also came with a choice of two sides, so we ordered onion rings and fries, and ordered a cheeky extra of mac and cheese with bacon.
All in all the meal was delicious. The place is pricey but it is clear why; the ambience location and food are all of an outstanding quality. I would recommend this place for any special occasion as you are bound to have a meal to remember.
Last week, Zomato kindly invited me down to try out Sophie's Steakhouse in Chelsea. One zip down the Piccadilly line from the office, and a ten minute walk from South Ken and I was safely ensconced, with a spectacular sparkling pear champagne cocktail in hand.
In need of traditional homing fare, we chose the Steak and Mushroom pie and the Black Angus burger. Both were comforting and warming and came with excellent sides. Creamy mash and crunchy onion rings, without a spot of grease in sight.
The burger would satisfy even the hungriest of tummies (mine), and although it arrives very plain, that left me plenty of opportunity to cover my plate in the home made smokey steak sauce, which was delicious. If, like me, you have a partner who hates anything resembling green touching their meat, they'll be well at home here.
The restaurant and the staff are very charming, if slightly forgettable. We had a lovely meal, and I'd definitely return for the bar tending skills.
I like Sophies a lot. They do a damn good job of filling up such a big restaurant every night...and I'm sure we would all agree that there is nothing more depressing than eating in an empty restaurant. I always have the ribs, which are damnnn tasty. Friends often get the tuna steak and burger which are also solid. Definitely go! There's one in Covent garden too which is good
Great steakhouse on Fulham road! This place doesn't take reservations and is open very late so it is a great place to end up at after a night out or after an evening at the cinema on Fulham Road. Steak is not the best I've had however it is must cheaper than other steakhouses. Sides are very good (definitely try the zucchini fritters) and cocktails are great! A must go on Fulham Road!
We selected this place for dinner hesitantly but we were very pleased with food. Very tasty and unique flavors.
It is mainly a steak place but there are other options too. They even have kids menu.
We tried steak salad and the chicken dish and the burger and all were great.
Unfortunately our waitress was not very friendly.
Popped into Sophie's for a relaxed dinner after a day of flying. The service was friendly and efficient but not fussy. The food was delicious, I had the peppered steak salad, yummy. Hubby had a steak and said it was perfectly cooked, so we were both happy. Perfect end to a busy day.
Very friendly staff and really good steak. Great flavours.
Visiting from the US. Dinner was great and the deserts were AMAZING! Sticky toffee pud, Berry mess, and Crème brûlée. I’d fly 8 hours again just for these deserts. 👍🏼👍🏼
We had anniversary dinner at Sophie’s tonight and we had an enjoyable time. First, the restaurant treated us with two Prosecco for anniversary. The food is delicious and exceeds our expectations! The peppercorn steak with salad which the beef is tasty! Thank
Came to this restaurant on Valentines. Lovely place. The staff was great & attentive. The food delicious and the dessert was 10/10. Big shout out to our server Alex. She’s awesome!
I was floored by how good Sophie’s was in Chelsea. We had a server called Scarlett and she was impeccable. Checked our table frequently was so warm and welcoming and always had a smile on her face. She made our night so special and definitely would come again and recommend to anyone thinking of coming. Thank you so much Scarlett 😘
We made a reservation for a Sunday lunch time and it seems it’s very popular for it’s Sunday roast meal because that’s what we ordered - both beef and chicken (though in the kids size). Very generous portions we ended up taking some chicken and Yorkshire pudding home. The place is well staffed so someone’s always on hand to take your meal or drinks order or top up your jug of water if needed. Slow service today because it was Father’s Day but they were kind enough in dealing with our request when we raised this.
A friend of mine recommended Sophie's for a quick bite to eat. We popped in for what ended up being a very relaxed, delicious dinner with wine. Food was divine (my friend had the steak and I had the chicken) and the wine choice fantastic. Will definitely be back.
Had super yummy food
