Café Boheme is a deliciously quaint French brasserie and bar on Old Compton Street in Soho. It has those foldable front facades which open the restaurant onto the street – perfect for this surprisingly sunny, shower-free summer weather. Five of us squeezed around a table on the absolute fringe of the restaurant and the street, just behind the brilliant guitarists whose bluesy riffs, like the pied piper, had guided us there in the first place. This eatery has oodles of charm and ambience.
A super romantic venue, especially in the evening. Surrounded by candlelight and a warm setting. To top it off, soothing Jazz music in the background. A gem in the heart of Soho. Food was delicious and the personnel very inviting.
Always like to come here .... It's a life saver on Monday night ........ Have there house beer which they serve by jug as well gentlemen wits different but good in taste .... N a glass of glen fiddich 15 by the side ....
Old bar, crowded with fancy people and fancy drinks. Cocktails are amazing and the staff is very friendly. A little bit noisy, but I like lively places. Try the ginger cocktail. It's amazing! :) cocktails start at 9£ and so on. Oh and the wine list is very complete! :)
La Boheme is something of a favourite of my friends and I to visit on special occasions, mostly due to its central location on Old Compton Street and the fun atmosphere which gets the balance between bar and restaurant just right.
Its vibe is neither formal nor casual so you fit in wearing either jeans or heels. The place is decorated in a traditional fashion but is somehow stylish enough to allow a modern air to the place as well. The restaurant is successful in replicating a typical French brasserie, but maintains a fun atmosphere due to the low lighting.
The food here is classic French faire serving up bowls of moule or steak with skinny frites as well as a simple Croque Madame. It is always delicious, but to be honest, I am usually quite drunk by the time it arrives as the buzz about the place encourages incessant orders of bottles of wine.
Open until 3am. The place to go if you want a late drink in Soho.
Yesterday I popped in Café Boheme for lunch by myself. I've been there several times before with my husband, as we both really enjoy it. From the entrees, I had the steak tartare. It was excellent. Next, from the salads and sandwiches menu, I ordered the chicken club, tarragon mayonnaise. Of the two, the chicken sandwich was the clear winner. My only complaint was it was stuffed with so many ingredients, it was a little tricky to manage. I would without a doubt order both again. I would have loved to have added a beautiful glass of red wine with my food, but I it was during my work day. Ahhhh, next time ;-)
Café Boheme has a nice vibe, but it is generally very busy. Service isn't as speedy as other places and tables are very, very close together. I know I'll be there again. I've never had food there that wasn't fabulous.
Good traditional french food. Good tartare. Very central.
My daughter booked this for a birthday treat... And what a treat!! Dozen fresh, tasty Oysters to kick off with as a sharing starter..coupled with a light bottle of Picpoul...Perfection 😋.
We both went for the Entrecotè steaks for mains, I've had plenty of Entrecotès around the West end, but these were unbelievably good and by far the best believe me☝️.. we paired these with a punchy Malbec, a pricey vin but we'll worth the extra.. Finished of with a classic Cremè bruleè and that was that!! A perfect meal fit for an absolute Frenchophile.
Big thanks to the super attentative staff for their service, and looking forward to my next fix at this superb Instatutional restaurant..
A great late afternoon well spent! The musician Brace was delightful to hear. Our lunch and creme brulee sensational! Compliments to the chef. We will be sure to visit again very soon. Thank you for your hospitality.
Really love this place, used to live nearby and finally visited last year, the food was exceptional but unfortunately the service was mid as it was busy but it had a live singer and really gave off a french brasserie asethetic. Overall the food was amazing along as the beef tartare bursted with flavour and the oysters were mouth watering.
Absolutely love this place! They usually have live music and outdoors seating. The drinks are great and good prices before 5pm. Impeccable service
Everything superb. French toast insanely good. Eggs Benedict fantastic, superb eggs. I think we will be become regulars here 😋
The food was delicious, I recommend you get any dish with scrambled eggs as these were divine. I had the veggie breakfast which was divine (especially the avocado, very fresh and distinctive taste), I’m sure last time it came with beans? They should definitely bring back the beans!
Very atmospheric which adds the French authenticity. The interior is much better in person I feel like the photos didn’t do it justice.
Will definitely be back!
Fanatic breakfast. Probably the best I have ever had. Lovely coffee too. Although expensive it was, worth every penny.

Lovely service at the bar. It was very busy, but the team looked after us really well and helped us to find additional seats, which meant we could all sit together. The cocktails were great and the vibe was perfect for Soho. Lots of different people all enjoying an evening drink. The burger we ordered was very well delivered and didn't take long at all. Even though it was so busy. Its a bit of a staple for soho and well worth a visit.
Good selection on the breakfast menu and reasonably priced. Cozy ambient with jazz music playing in the background. Nicely decorated dining area. Came here on a weekday morning so it wasn’t busy. Had a full English breakfast and omelette, both were great. Highly recommend.
Popped into here for breakfast after a run. I was very disheveled but the lovely staff didn’t bat an eyelid. Fabulous coffee and pastries and excellent value for money for this part of town. Will be back.
