I love this place, amazing food and service, feels very relaxing inside my only point yesterday when I was in was the music did not feel in line with the space / ambience that was being created by the furnishings, staff etc. It's my favourite place for a coffee and cream pan though.

So far the best matcha latte I've encountered in London. Not too bitter, not too sweet and not too powdery. I pop in here regularly as you can switch off within the simple and minimalist interior. Having a more savoury tooth, my favourite are the deep fried curry buns as they are a great winter comfort food or whenever it's grey outside! Also good are the chicken karage buns. The sweet chestnut bread/cake loaf is filling if you want a sweeter treat with your morning or afternoon tea.

Loved it! Both cakes were absolutely delicious, staff was really friendly and polite. The only negative is the lack of space for tables. would love to be able to sit indoors and enjoy the cakes. coffee was pretty good as well

I *love* Wa Cafè! The sweets are simply amazing...in particular I really love the white sesame cheesecake...it is absolutely fantastic! And the atmosphere is really nice...I always feel at peace when I am here! :) Sometimes I come here even just for a tea, just to be immersed in this lovely and happy atmosphere! :) Moreover I was thinking today...it is one of the few places in which I've been where when you order a hot chocolate, it is always warm enough to feel good but never so hot that you have to wait to drink it...simply flawless...as everything here! :)

If you ever want to feel how it is to be in Japan, this is the best alternative . Best matcha latte I had ( not too bitter, not too watery), great desserts and traditional melon pan, curry bun and so on. Must visit for sweet lovers and/or Japan lovers.

There are 2 WA café in London, both are pretty central. Ambience is spacious and minimal. Take away is more sensible because difference of price is almost 1£. Staffs are friendly.

🍽Japanese souffle cheesecake: it was amazing, I like intense and soft cheesecakes. It is not including bottom cake like normal cheesecakes. It was 4.30£

Wa is a clean cafe with friendly service. I ordered a chocolate tart which was quite nice. It tasted a bit like a chocolate brownie with fresh cream topping

I was missing Japan a lot and then I noticed we just had WA around the corner. It looks like those patisseries you will find in Japan (with their view on western bakery) and guess what it's really delicious! We've tried 2 cakes, 1 chocolate one which felt like a brownie, so creamy inside but not too sweet and also a strawberry cake which felt so light and fresh. Coffee was pretty good too. I don't give it 5 starts because it's almost impossible to find a table. Service is really helpful, friendly and polite. Will be back as soon as I can

Good real Japanese pastry and tea. Usually we go for desserts after lunch in Ealing. Super friendly Japanese staff. Good hygiene and lighting wither you come for a date or just taking a coffee break. However, the place is very popular, and isn't big. So you may have to wait for awhile when is busy. Most time I can get a seat soon enough but sometimes I just order my favourite sesame cheese cakes to go. Highly recommended. (The whole cakes require 3 days to order one).

The only place in London where you can find real Japanese style patisserie and bread(soft, milky, filled etc). For people who like matcha, their matcha roll cake is so good !!!

After seeing so many yummy looking photos from friends and reviews on Zomato, I decided to go here with my friend for a cake brunch.

We're both cake lovers and we loved it here. If you go early, there so much to choose from. I once tried to go just before closing and they were almost sold out!

I had the chocolate cake slice, which had a crispy biscuit texture along with a rich, dark chocolate mousse that just melts in your mouth. I also had a fruity tea in a glass bottle, which was refreshing and not too sweet.

If I lived near Ealing, I think I would go everyday :)

Their cabinet display for cakes and fancy breads will make your mouth water. We couldn't get a table as they were a bit busy so had to do a takeaway instead. Their choux trio was out of this world. Heavenly choux pastry filled with sesame cream, green tea cream, and vanilla cream with red bean paste. Yum!

You'll often find me where there's any matcha dessert! So here I was at WA Cafe eager to try their matcha roll after travelling for over an hour to get to this cafe located in Ealing Broadway. Yes, what can I say.. that's how committed I am to eating anything matcha!! I'm also glad to report that the long and treacherous journey (not really that treacherous) was worth it! I think their matcha roll is the best I've had in London. It's soft, moist and everything you could wish for in a cake! My roll partnered with my matcha latte was the perfect combination for a lazy Saturday afternoon. I also ordered the raspberry and pistachio tart which was nice, but nothing compared to the roll.

I also like that WA Cafe serves savoury dishes (I noticed their Japanese curry bun was popular) so you can make a meal out of your visit.

Before venturing forth to this cafe I had to do a bit of digging online and I was pleasantly surprised.  I think WA cafe has one of the best looking websites that I have seen in recent memory.  The photographer in me admires their shots of their food and the foodie in me drools silently.  So I just had to check out to see if it was as good as it looked.

I have an addiction. Addicted to the green stuff, itâtte a healthy one I promise. You know all the health benefits I mentioned a zillion times on my site. Yes, matcha green tea is a healthy addiction. So I jumped all giddily when I saw WA Cafe, featured in Timeout and it was pure luck I had to go to Ealing for a house party on a Saturday.

WA café is along the street from the station, modern with colourful rows of Japanese breads and pastries on display.

The café was very busy with people coming in and out; the struggle was to find a free table.

Besides my beloved matcha green tea latte, I ordered strawberry shortcake to eat in. Matcha green latte is served in authentic Japanese cookware, clay cup with no handles and a wooden teaspoon. Of course, the strawberry shortcake delivered. Light fluffy pillow cake decadent sponge layers, lightly whipped cream finished with scrummy fresh strawberries.

Our friend Miho @ Wander To Wonder. had introduced us to WA Cafe, after seeing her post photos of mouth watering cakes from this Japanese cafe, me and Angela Sam finally managed to visit this place. We visited on a Saturday just before 12pm, I took the central line from Liverpool Street to Ealing Broadway and the journey took about 35 minutes. We both turned up with empty stomachs with the intention of ordering lots of cakes and buns to share between us, Miho and E also joined us.

The cafe is a short walk from Ealing Broadway station. As you approach you can see the pretty display of cakes lined up at the counter. We found a table but didn't sit down for long as we couldn't wait to go up to the counter and order cakes.

For savoury buns we ordered the karage mini roll (white roll filled with pieces of chicken, salad leaves, ketchup, mayo and sweet BBQ sauce), curry bun (deep fried bun coated in breadcrumbs, filled with Japanese curry), egg and mayo doughnut (deep fried bun coated in cornflakes and breadcrumbs, filled with egg mayo), chicken teriyaki bun (teriyaki chicken, caramelised onions and mayo), and the ham and cheese bun. We also ordered a sweet sesame brioche, which was filled with sesame cream. All the buns were light and fluffy. I think my favourite is the egg and mayo doughnut - although it was deep fried, it wasn't oily and the dough was very light. The cornflakes gave the bun an extra crunch, it might sound weird but this is a really good invention!

Luckily we shared all of the buns so we had room to try the fresh cakes. They all look delicious and it was hard to decide what to order. Our friend E is a regular customer and gave us a few suggestions. We ended up ordering the Mont Blanc, matcha rolled cake, choux trios, strawberry shortcake and white sesame cheesecake. I don't know how to rank these in order of preference because all of them were really good. Tough one!

I think my favourite is the white sesame cheesecake, with a black sesame biscuit base. I'm not a great fan of cheesecakes, but the first bite was like love at first sight - I fell in love with it! The sesame flavour was very strong, combined with a light cheese topping and a crunchy base.

The strawberry shortcake - distinct layers of sponge and cream, decorated beautifully with strawberries. The texture of the cake is as light as it looks, it magically melts away in your mouth. Miho described that the cake is "like a cloud" and I agree!

Another item which you must order when visiting is the choux trios. Three miniature choux buns, with a buttery and crunchy top. These filled with sesame, matcha, and azuki custard cream. I think the sesame cream is the same as the cream used to fill the brioche rolls. The matcha cream is strong but not overpowering. I was surprised by the custard cream choux because I wasn't aware that the centre was filled with azuki beans (my favourite).

For drinks we ordered the hot and iced matcha latte. The strength of the matcha was just right.

We were quite full after eating all these cakes, but I couldn't resist taking some buns home too!

WA cafe produces high quality cakes and you can really tell that they use higher quality ingredients. If they were based in central London I would visit the cafe more often. I look forward to going back soon to try the remaining cakes.

When we were flat-hunting a year and a half ago, it was a nightmare - as all Londoners will well know. We have specific requirements for the kind of flat we need to live in for our work - which meant that it automatically ruled out many nice, cheaper alternatives - and we were on the hunt for 3 weeks, looking at properties nearly everyday. But now that we've been living in our area for a good while, we are so, so happy to have chosen it as our home, and we constantly tell each other how much we enjoy living here.

The many perks include excellent transport links, living on a quiet residential street right around the corner from all the shops, banks and other essentials that we could possibly need, being surrounded by several green areas including a convenient running path through one of them, and good places to eat just a few minutes' walk away.

But now. Now, we have the number one reason why we love living here... the thing that will bind us to this area for life... and I'm only very slightly exaggerating. Meet our delicious neighbour, WA café.

I actually discovered this place entirely by accident, as it's on the other side of the station that I don't ordinarily walk past. I spotted it whilst on the bus, and when I hopped off, I went over to check what it was. And I was ridiculously excited to find that it was a beautiful Japanese café and bakery.

One of the things I love most about my home country, of course, is the food. They obviously have all the Japanese food perfected, but they also do Western food like no other place. Their bakeries and patisseries are consistently gorgeous, and WA café is the best of its kind that you will find in this continent, I'm convinced of it.

From their impeccable cakes to the authentic "curry bun" (fried buns with Japanese curry inside), their matcha lattes and their huge gourmet sandwiches with homemade bread, E and I have loved every bite that has come out of this café and we have fallen hard for them. They make and bake everything on site, and each item comes out as they are freshly made in the kitchen.

The café itself is minimally decorated but beautiful nonetheless, but as we live so close, we've taken most of what we've tried to-go. And I'm slightly embarrassed to see the photos of all the things we've already eaten from here... but I have to be honest in my reviews! Yes, we have tried all of the following (though my sister was visiting recently and some of them were eaten with and taken by her, ok?), and yes, we loved every single thing.

Here's a rundown of the items you'll drool over below, in order:
Japanese Curry Bun
Matcha Roll Cake
Mini Chicken Kara-age Roll
Sakura Cake
Chicken Katsu Sandwich
Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich
White Sesame Cheesecake
Azuki Bean Twist
Soufflé Cheesecake
Choux Cream Trio (with black sesame, matcha and vanilla custard)
Chocolate & Praline Cake
Matcha Latte
Ham & Cheese
Chicken Teriyaki Mayo
Melon Pan

Although it looks like we must have cleaned out the place, I promise that a) these were all spread out across several weeks (how many counts as several? 3?) and b) we've probably only tried about half of what they offer, which has me very excited. They change up their items daily, and I'm pretty sure that within the next few months, we'll have eaten our way through their whole menu.

I think that this must be the most glowing review of any place I've every written on WTW - but they are fully deserving of it. I have no doubt that they'll only continue to get more and more popular, and there is no better feeling for us than to know that we are supporting an independent, local business while stuffing ourselves silly with such deliciousness.

It may seem far on the map (and it will be far if you live in East London - sorry!), but it's only 20 minutes away from Bond Street, 20 minutes from Earl's Court, 10 minutes from Paddington, and if you're visiting London and landing in Heathrow, it takes 20 minutes on a direct train and you could be tucking into some of this. Just saying.

Do me a favour and go. And when you do, let me know and I might just pop over and join you.

The most “Japan” Japanese Cafe I’ve visited in the UK. All staff are Japanese or Japanese speaking local, totally no problem if you order in their language, definitely give me a feel of going back “home”. They sells different kinds of pastry like cakes and pan, also some sandwitches, all very authentic Japanese style. Their drinks are superb, from taste to presentation are top notch. The shop is spacious but only have a few tables which makes it a comfortable place to chill and relax, however, may be many people also thinks that way make they have a policy of only 2 hour dinning time.

As an ex-expat in Japan of 15 years, I have finally found a Truly authentic Japanese cafe with a wide selection of pastries, cakes and drinks in London! What a delight! Matcha tiramisu, pumpkin croquet and sen cha are fabulous! Yet to go through the full selection of Wa’s dishes, so will be coming back soon! The cafe gets very very busy, hope they can expand soon or somehow add more tables for more customers.

The coffee here is nice, although it may not be the absolute best I've had, it's definitely a great deal considering the price. The staff is simply amazing and very friendly. I also tried their sandwich, which, I must say, is outstanding, although it comes at a slightly higher price point.

🍞🍰 "Morning Delight at WA Cafe! 🌸🥐" 👋 Hey there, fellow foodies and coffee lovers! 🌟 Just had the most delightful morning at WA Cafe in Ealing. 🇯🇵☕️ If you're up for an unforgettable breakfast or afternoon tea experience, this place is a must-visit. (Melon pan) melon bread that was like a soft, heavenly hug on the inside and had that perfect crunch on the outside. 🍈😋 Seriously, it's like they turned a melon into a bread! And the Mont Blanc? 🍫✨, that was a work of art! Layers of chestnut goodness that melted in my mouth with every bite. The place itself is a blend of bakery and confectionery, where sophistication meets scrumptiousness. 🍰🥖 And while it might be a tad pricier compared to the usual joints, the quality of every bite totally justifies it. So, if you're ready to treat your taste buds to an adventure and your eyes to edible art, give WA Cafe a go. Trust me, it's like a one-way ticket to Tokyo's culinary wonders. 🛫🇯🇵

Came here on a recommendation and the cakes/pastries are amazing! We got the banana chocolate and strawberry short cake and both were so light and airy. Would love to try their other desserts too. I had the oat matcha latte but they also have a range of other specialty drinks too that sound great. A great little spot in the area!

It’s so nice to find places like this - where you are happy to spend your money. So far I’ve tried the Matcha roll and sesame cheesecake. Both are delicious. Cheesecake wasn’t my cup of tea but this one certainly is. Well done to the business. Your staff is very friendly too.

I had the pleasure of visiting this charming Japanese patisserie, and it was an absolute delight for my taste buds! The cakes here are heavenly, with delicate textures and perfectly balanced flavors that left me craving more. The patisserie offers a wide array of choices, from classic Japanese treats like matcha cheesecake and strawberry shortcake to more innovative creations. The prices at this patisserie are quite competitive, especially considering the quality of the cakes. It's a real treat to find such delicious desserts at such an affordable price point. The staff is friendly and helpful, readily to help you choose. In summary, this Japanese patisserie is a must-visit for dessert lovers looking for exquisite cakes at great prices. I can't wait to go back and indulge in more of their delightful creations!

I have been here on two occasions now and each time has been an absolute treat. The melon pan is so soft and sweet, and most recently my partner and I have taken home some sweets to have for desert. The Matcha Roll and the Chocolate Praline Gateau. So lovely. The staff are always kind and sweet and they pack your takeaway treat with so much care and love.

The cakes and bread are fantastic and the staff are brilliant, you are always met with a smile. The strawberry shortcake and banana cake are my two picks. The shortcake is the most popular cake in Japan, similar in popularity to our Victoria sponge cakes here. The atmosphere is very Japanese, the design of the interior fits really well with a typical Japanese modern simplicity to it. I can't say what the drinks are like as I've only bought a coffee once, the main event is the cake, but I'm sure the drinks match the quality of the food. The only thing I would note is the serving of coffee is quite small so if you are looking for a drink to walk to work with I'd avoid the coffees. However, it's fairly strong and the size matches well with the lightness of the cakes. Having visited both of their shops a number of times I can say I very much prefer the Ealing branch as it's more spacious, although there is less seating. I have been a dine in, takeaway and delivery customer, and all experiences were brilliant. If you have time and there is a free seat I recommend you dine in.

One of my favourite places to go for Japanese pastries. It's on the pricier side, however the cakes are fantastic! They have various sakura blossom cakes (seasonal) and they are fantastic. I tried the cheesecake, sakura Panna cotta and matcha cake. They are all meticulously made and delicious! I'm not too crazy about the sakura latte and I've had a better black sesame latte. Anyhow, this place is definitely recommended to try when you're around.
