Everything is excellent. I have been there literally for lunch and dinner since it’s opening. The staff already knows me. I have covered 80% of the menu. Everything is nice. Somethings I like best!
Satay are grilled not deep fried in many places.
Cheese tofu was unusual but yum!
Penang Assam laksa
Char Kwai Teow
Oh yes! Assam fish, curry chicken on noodles.
Great service, massive portions, beautiful interior and an ouf-of-this-world food experience. Would definitely recommend!
Can you figure out what it says on the wall? In that heart sign is a word. Let me tell you a story. Once, I was helping out at a friend’s wedding. At the check-in desk, was the name of guests and a list of dietary requirements. There was also space to scribble down notes. Someone saw their name and promptly wrote next to it, at this dining venue where there wasn’t much choice, ‘lobster only please’.
Malaysian cuisines are hard to come by in London. Roti King, Rasa Sayang and C+R café are my go to places that specialise in Malaysian. Other places I’ve tried do pan Asian or Fusion food. Laksamania is a newcomer to the Fitzrovia area, raved by my foodie favourites. Located in the quiet side street between Oxford Street and Tottenham court road.
This place was highly recommended by a Malaysian friend who is serious about food. The food was superb, authentic, and competitively priced. The chicken satay was tasty, tender, and succulent, although the portion was on the small side. The signature beef curry Laksa noodles had the softest chunks of beef that melted in the mouth, and the soup base was full of flavour. The restaurant was quite small and was like a cafe. It had a much bigger section in the basement but not open on weekdays. Service was efficient but slightly frosty, like most Chinese restaurants.
One of the best Malaysian food out there in London. A lot of my Malaysian friends have recommended for us to go there (AND UNCLE ROGER LOVE THIS PLACE - WHICH SAYS A LOT!) and honestly did not disappoint.
Their service is absolutely smashing, uncle was so so welcoming and very helpful. Which was one the highlights of our visit.
We had the Singapore Laksa Curry - which was flavours dancing in my mouth, my partner had the Char Kuey Teow - smoky but ah it is one of the best we have ever tasted. Not pictured, but we also ordered Satay Chicken, which was tender, juicy and that grilled flamed smoky flavour lingering - what a dream. And last but not the least, we had the homemade cendol for dessert and honestly - we could just eat that on loop.
Definitely coming back and highly, highly recommend!
I've been meaning to go here for some time, just never got around to it but on Sunday we finally did. Excellent food, very tasty. We had the Ipoh curry laksa and the soft shell crab laksa with the tempura as a starter. Unfortunately I'm allergic to crab so couldn't sample it but my wife informed me it was delicious.
The best place for laksa noodles in London ! We ordered three different ones and they all tasted incredible! Also the roasted duck must ordered ! Definitely will go back again !
The food was great. For starters, we had chicken wings and lamb satay (the peanut sauce was delicious). The duck bao buns had crispy Duck inside a moist bun. Laksa, an obvious choice for main, was really flavourful.
The only disappointment was the dessert (mango snow ice!!) which had very little taste except for crushed ice. I also found the reluctance of servers to take orders quite strange, even though the restaurant was pretty empty on a weekday evening.
Arrived without a reservation, but they made the effort to accommodate us for one hour slot. The service was very attentive and fast. We ordered the baos, two types of the laksa, and noodles. Flavors were amazing, and very generous portions. The laksa is a very filling soup, so make sure you go with a full appetite.
They open only for dinner from 5 to 9, and are really a very popular spot, so make sure you make reservations before visiting, which I truly recommend you to do, it's a great place to eat.
Ipoh Laksa is probably 7/10 from those found in South East Asia. It is pretty good considering it is in London. Portion is fair. If you miss Laksa and you're in London, this is the place to go. Be prepared to pay 20-30 GBP to satisfy your home-sick appetite.
We heard about this restaurant through a friend who was visiting. My family is in town this week and this was the first restaurant I've taken them too. It was a hit!
My mom is vegan and quite the picker eater, but she absolutely loved it and has requested we come back here for dinner before they leave. She had the vegan laksa.
I had the Penang Assam Laksa, my dad had the soft shell crab laksa, my sister had the Ipoh Curry Laksa, my husband had the Melaka Curry Laksa and my brother in law had the Jumbo Fresh Water Prawn. We each loved everything that we had! I'd definitely recommend getting a laksa if you come here!!
The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I'd definitely recommend this place. You can make reservations online through their website. We are going back for a second go on Saturday!
Very nice restaurant. Good atmosphere can surrounding. Service was also very good. Food arrived very quickly and certainly had 'wok hei'. Recommend to anyone in the vicinity.
Laksa is so good! Approved by my Malaysian friends.
My personal preference the best is Singapore laksa, it is so rich and flavourful!
The assam laksa is also pretty nice, fishy and rich.
Highly recommend!
