Absolutely beautiful meal! We had the tasting menu and it was amazing; such great food, so well prepared and flavour combinations to die for. And the best value tasting menu price in town! The staff are truly exceptional too, so knowledgeable and obviously love the food they serve. 10/10!!
We went with the vegetarian tasting menu, it was simply superb and puts many others vegetarian efforts to shame. The staff were very attentive and informative about the dishes placed before us. All in all an excellent little eatery. We went to leave a decent cash tip at the end of our meal, only to have our waiter turn down the crisp note stating they do actually receive the discretionary inclusion on the bill, which was a nice touch!
Good presentation and nice variety. The ambience is lacking decoration. The food was good but seasoning was a miss. The service was slow but friendly.
The Dairy in Clapham wasn’t on my radar but luckily I was introduced to it by another foodie friend. There were three of us – two vegetarians and one meat eater. The Dairy does have a vegetarian tasting menu, but unfortunately they serve it for the table and not on an individual basis. Not too worry though, they still have a very clear separate section of their regular menu laid out for vegetarians.
Great little restaurant offering a delicious range of choices. The plates are made for sharing so it's best to go with a few people so you can sample more of the food. We went with their recommendations and was it was salivating. If I lived in London, I'd go back all the time!
When we went to Counter Culture, The Dairy’s tiny adjacent sister restaurant I’ve been wanting to try the food at The Dairy as the two dishes our hostess smuggled from their kitchen were superb. Dishes are small so not as sharing friendly apart from the absolutely addictive baron bigot with...
London has no shortage of areas that are a marvel to wonder around yet have been completely neglected by its inhabitants who seem to only know of Soho and other zone 1 areas – and Clapham is certainly one of them. Not only does it have the Common (this vast area of green space), but it has quite a buzzing food scene too.
The Better Half (TBH) and I have just come back from the most epic Californian road trip where we ate and drank like kings. Not quite ready to get back to reality, we woke up on Saturday morning wanting to have one more fantastic meal before the sensible eating wagon arrived. I remembered that I had received a gift voucher for my birthday (great gift, huh?) for one of the restaurants on my bucket list and having a quick look at the menu, our decision was made.
This was a feast of a lunch tasting menu and to pay homage to the “greatness” that it is I’ve written it out in all its full glory for you to peruse. note: the tasting menu has changed since my last visit but I’m sure is as good as it was when I was there. Nocellara del Belice Olives
It was initiated by a conversation between Nuno Mendes and The Dairy’s Robin Gill where they agreed there wasn’t anywhere in London for chefs and other hospitality staff to have a proper feed and drink after service. Bloodshot Supper Club happens on the last Saturday of every month —payday for chefs and each month it’s a guest chef who brings their brigade into The Dairy Kitchen immediately after finishing the evening service in their own restaurant. Tickets are sold sold on Twitter — it’s £60 a head for all the food and drink you can muster and four of the 36 seats are available to members of the public. Oh yeah, and it all kicks off at 1am.
Great place in the heart of Clapham facing the common. Staff were friendly and the venue is well lit with a good atmosphere.
Food is truly excellent however main portions are really small so be prepared to order 4 between 2 of you. As a consequence it can get quite expensive.
Gin Sour is amazing.
Took my boyfriend to the 7 course tasting menu over lunch on his birthday and had an incredible meal. Fresh, tasty food and what seemed more like 10 courses in a nice casual atmosphere. Definitely recommend
We had the most perfect Sunday brunch.... awesome avocado toast for me and the most perfect pork belly for him.... excellent coffee and delicious cocktails. Best of all, everything was served with warmth, care and a good portion of healthy banter! We have found a new go to local restaurant!!
Enjoyed a very tasty brunch here last weekend. The menu is concise yet interesting. They can make veggie options of the mains which is great. The restaurant overlooks Clapham Common. I would definitely recommend for weekend brunch with your lover or best friend.
Had a beautiful lunch course of £25 for a special occasion. Everything was creative, beautifully presented, and of course, delicious. Rooftop honey added wonderful flavour for the appetizer. Salted caramel, cocoa, and ice cream was one of the best dessert I had. I thought this course was good deal for money.
It usually looks busy on weekends but there was a plenty of space for weekday lunch - we even took an infant in a pram, though there was no changing table.
Absolutely brilliant. The food was delicious, with lots of interesting tweaks and tricks that made every dish a fun surprise. We had the tasting menu, which was nicely varied and felt like a real journey. This stuff is clearly made with a ton of skill. The service was warm and friendly; we had a great time. Would definitely go again.
Nice little place.
Our coffees were served in sweet little vintage-looking cups and saucers.
The food was good but unfortunately my friends avocado on toast was served in a bowl?! I mean, the bowl was nice but made it extremely challenging to eat the toast! v odd.
They host who seated us and took our orders was very good however, the two staff members who served us came across very arrogant and both turned their noses up when we separately asked for ketchup with out chips. They serve chips without any sauces. Again, V odd.
Anyway, overall it was nice and I would go back for the toast and coffee.
Always a pleasure dining here, I just love it. Excellent food, well-priced tasting menu and an exceptionally matched series of wine pairings.
Top marks for The Dairy! We’ve had them on our Restaurant Lust List for years and they didn’t let us down in the slightest.
Delicious food and drink that left us wanting to return straight away. The team are awesome and can’t do enough for you (without being OTT). An absolute gem, highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic tasting menu experience on Saturday evening .
The food is so fresh and superbly prepared , you can taste every single ingredient all working in perfect harmony. Concise, exciting wine list.
Un-pretentious, honest food with homely atmosphere. A must visit for anyone who hasn’t heard about this place already! .
Another perfect meal at The Dairy, Clapham. The tasting menu brings us back every year on our anniversary and never disappoints! I was helped to find a wine I loved and every course is absolutely perfect! This is my favourite place to eat in London. Fine food, but not stuffy, with a candlelit, rustic feel. Perfect!
Small but superb place!
Plates are also small but amazingly prepared.
You'll probably need 3-4 per person which can add up.
The outdoor seating is a huge plus in the summer months yet its cosy inside during winter.
You are often presented with little extra canapé style mouthfuls as well as their delicious fresh bread and bone marrow butter.
