The Gate Islington - London - Photo album

We had an excellent dinner experience at The Gate in Islington. The starters, mains and desserts were all flavoursome and exceptional value for money. The service was great and our waitress was attentive and friendly. We would highly recommend this restaurant to others!
Food was lovely and the flavours were full and interesting. Theyโ€™ve got a few other restaurants in London too and I highly recommend. Awesome to see a fully plant based menu now ๐Ÿ‘ Stand out dishes were the courgette flower, oyster mushroom and moussaka
The food is amazing, I went to the gate Restaurant for the first time in 1999 and had the Aubergine Schnitzel , but they have improved it since. It reminded me of my mums cooking, but a vegan version of it! The lemon sauce was so tasty and rich. My wife had the katsu curry (incredibly subtle taste)
A decent meal of goods flavours but with slow service, despite the empty dining room, it was a little disappointing. Not necessarily going to set the world alight, but a reliable option, especially after a night at Sadlers Wells.
I loved it. What a wonderful place. Everything in the place - menus - is vegan. Mostly gluten free, but anything that is, is well published on the e menu and staff can advise. Since nuts are used for some dishes, it's not nut free but again well marked and the staff knows. Anything that looks like m
We had lunch here for 8 people. Lovely presented food and very tasty. Nice staff and great Veggie food.. didn't have enough time to try the desserts but they looked delicious! There were only two staff that did waitering and greeting and one bar staff who did drinks. The restaurant was full of c
We had curry and mushroom risotto, risotto was good but curry was kind of spicy. Generally food is okay. Everything is average level. Carrot cake was awesome!
Amazing restaurant, the decor and atmosphere was beautiful and the food really tasty!! Finally some vegan options that are not boring. We'll definitely be back!
The service was very friendly and professional and the food was really tasty, too. There are only two things that, in my opinion, could be improved: it was very noisy (not sure about a solution here), and there used to be filtered water with cucumber, instead of tap. Maybe some light background musi
Best food I've eaten I'm recent memory. The miso maple aubergine was delicious! My main tortilla was very fillyling and flavoursome... & the dessert ๐Ÿ˜ oh my! Tasted so much like profiterole! Yummy! Also had a lovely busy atmosphere and our waiter was fab! Thank you!
One of the top restaurants in London... even if you love meat. Been there many times and take out of town guests and each one has been blown away by the food. Even my mom loves the spot ๐Ÿ˜‚. You forgot that there are no meat options as everything on the menus sounds amazing. That you want to try ever
I wanted to love this place but it was ok. Food was ok too, it has a weird vibe of a decadent pub. Everything was vegetarian though and that's great for me.
Very nice dishes that I tried both lunch and dinner menu. A must try restaurant for all vegetarian. Nice environment!
It's so refreshing to visit a plant-based restaurant that isn't heavily dependant on meat-replicas or soya/tofu dishes, with choices that actually show how much delicious fun you can have with vegetables! Was the perfect place to go for my birthday and they even decorated my dessert cake with a Hap
Went for my birthday lunch. We had an amazing time. Staff are very friendly and helped with allergy requirements, kids meals and very attentive. The food was just amazing - pictures attached. Highly recommend the beetroot dish.
Really great lunch here in this lovely dining room. Tasty vegetarian menu that is a cut above most London restaurants. They have an extensive bar too. Weโ€™ll try dinner here next time : yes we are definitely coming back.
