Really tasty falafel in tray with mixed salad and sauces. Also white or brown pitta bread. Was very filling. Good value for money. Choice of filling feta etc, I had avocado. Would return.
This is just stone's throw away from where I work and I usually go to pilpel to grab my lunch.
For me they serve one of the best falafels I have had in London or elsewhere.
I usually either go for falafel in a container or falafel in a pita and both are highly recommended.
I think I've finally found it. I've had two Middle Eastern dreams over the past 3 years. One is the incredible 25cent falafels I had in a tiny hole-in-the-wall in Amman, Jordan back in 2009. It was the first time (well, second after a street vendor somewhere around there) I had a freshly fried crisp falafel crushed in a pita and so pleasurable. The next was at the now closed Shoreditch pop-up of Yalla Yalla (
Totally delicious. Not much more I can say except that you just have to try the falafel here! Casual dining area, rarest or eat in. Fresh ingredients and deliciousness in every bite. Relatively priced and a great lunch or dinner.
Ahh Pilpel. This place is heaven for falafel addicts. Moist, crunchy falafel sitting on a bed of fresh mixed salad and houmous, lathered in a wonderfully rich chilli sauce (always go for the green one!) and topped with a creamy tahini sauce. My usual order is a falafel container, with all the salads (extra pickles) and brown pitta – all for £5.65! The staff here are always friendly, willing to accommodate most requests and always give freebies away (I have been given free falafel and drinks on numerous occasions!).
Pilpel serves up tasty vegetarian pittas filled with salad, hummus and falafel homemade on the premises. A must try are the sabich, an Israeli speciality pitta filled with aubergine, boiled eggs and salad. Pilpel Falafel, which are deep fried nuggets of p
The Entrance: Pilpel is small. It's a take-away really. On the edge of Spitalfields. On a Sunday at 1 p.m.-ish, it's empty. I am happy about this at first. At first. Because you see THE LOUD-ASS MUSIC HAD ME WISHING THERE WERE MORE PEOPLE IN PILPEL TO DRO
the best falafel ever and really fresh salad
Its a very good 4.5 stars from me, great food, very good staff and clear communication.
Cant ask for more.
0.5 stars deducted as falafel got dry while taking a take away, but i understand that if we dine in it will be crispy and hot.
So next time i will dine in and i am sure i will update the rating to 5 stars.
Good work team.
BEST falafel pitta I've had! It was full with toppings- the staff were not stingy! The falafels were freshly made and fried in front of us. The flavours were incredible- my friend and I literally couldn't speak. We were so into the food we couldn't talk! Would defo come back here with more friends.
Amazing value and overall really tasty food. The portions are really generous and I love that if you order a bowl and skip the bread they give you extra falafel. The bowl with feta is my favourite.

Absolute best falafels so far- beat garbanzos by a mile. The dishes are vegan and gluten free by design but there might be some sides where you need to ask if you have allergies. Generously priced at £7 for a plate of 10 falafels and a number of sides plus pita, it is definitely a regular option. Servings are huge so plan accordingly!
My go to place for falafels & pita. So many varieties, so economical and generous portion sizes. The falafel bowl is easily sufficient for 2 meals. Highly recommend as a vegetarian option in the area.
Good service and friendly staff. Must try if you are falafel lover. I tried falafel container and quantity was really good for the price. Food was really tasty. Recommended if in old spitalfields market and want to try falafel.
Great fresh food, crispy warm falafel and good prices. I always go for a container with guacamole on a side. Staff is super nice, polite and smiley regardless the busy lunch hours.
Food is delicious and well priced. Only concern is if the entire Falafel container is only 329Kcal because I am now eating there multiple times a week!
The best falafel I've ever had. Very crunchy and tasty. Staff is also very friendly and not shy putting as much salad as possible, which is really appreciated. It gets busier during lunch time, but staff is very efficient and makes sure that waiting time is minimum.
Best hot falafels in town! They make it fresh. It’s crisp and tasty!
Excellent service and meal.
