It was cold and raining when I left West Brompton to travel to Wandsworth Common. One of those rather irritating trips that isn’t far but somehow seems a little awkward. As a result, I arrived at the Good Earth, umbrella in hand feeling somewhat grumpy. The Good Earth Chinese Restaurants have existing in and around London for over 30 years. And, whilst I’ve walked past them on occasions when I haven’t been looking to eat, I’ve never actually been to one for a meal. When I did live in Clapham, within walking distance of what is now The Good Earth on Bellevue Road, the venue was a large cafe. The interior now has been transformed into something that sits comfortably in between a traditional Chinese restaurant and a Bistro. In fact if the concept of Chinese Bistro existed this might just be one. The bar seating is accommodating; lime green leather upholstered sofas spread with Union Jack cushions.
The food was so delicious! We went for a special celebration and the service they provided was top notch. Really attentive and flexible with any requests we had. The price point is great as well for the quality of the dishes. Highly recommend trying them out!

Such a lovely experience. Had no booking but were accommodated. Service was excellent, staff were extremely pleasant. Food was lovely. Slightly more expensive but overall worth it for the quality and service. Cannot wait to return.
We went for Chinese New Year, with a dragon dance for the celebrations, during dinner.
The speciality menu was to die for and the desserts were mind blowing!
Kit, Kenneth and Katherine always make us feel special and we even were gifted by the Chinese New Year dragon!

I’ve never had anything but a lovely experience here. I always get the set menu with my partner which is excellent value for money and will leave you very full and happy! The starters and mains include a bit of everything like seafood, meat and poultry. And the quarter duck starter is very crispy and moist.
One thing that always stands out to me is the customer service from the front of house to when you’re seated, everyone is attentive but not overbearing, efficient but not rushed. During my last visit being heavily pregnant as I sat down I was asked straight away by the front of house if my seat was comfortable and whether I’d like extra cushions. It was a small gesture but really appreciated.
Upmarket Chinese restaurant with prices to match. Set menu is a lot of food but delicious, particularly the crispy prawns. Service of the no fuss Chinese sort.
This restaurant definitely deserves better reviews. This is the best Chinese food me and my partner ever had. The quality of the food is very good. You actually feel good after eating chinese from The Good Earth. The staff can be a bit more friendly but our overall everything was 5 stars.
Hi I went to the good earth restaurant yesterday with my family the food was excellent and delicious food very nice and good my favourite food and restaurant I will definitely go there again excellent service and atmosphere there very good food I really enjoyed the meal all excellent food and service
