Cafe Rouge - Southgate

Nice quality food, lovely staff. The food is interesting and wide ranging, well seasoned and tasty. It isn't ground breaking or novel, but provides a reasonably priced and enjoyable dinner at a fair price. My only criticism would be with the children's meal which suffered from an over large starter (garlic bread) and a ridiculously small desert (fruit salad).

Came here for afternoon tea which was cakes, scones and some sandwiches. Limited basic selections of teas, I thought they'd be more for somewhere that does afternoon tea. The cakes were delicious, so were the scones. The sandwiches there were only two choices, ham or mushroom. I would have liked more choice but it wasnt too expensive and it was a nice experience.

Surprisingly good for a chain restaurant. Really cosy decor, and the staff is professional, yet friendly. Have been visiting a few times, can only say they have a brilliant team in the kitchen. The food is better than I have expected, it is in fact very good, and the portions are absolutely huge. I have had the Bouillabaisse twice, always delicious, and astonishing just how much fish each plate is loaded with. Nice setting, really good food, and all in all, very good value for the money. I will certainly be back.
