A very special and memorable dining experience. We sat at the counter for an early Saturday night meal because the tables were all fully booked. But what a lovely experience that was! The food was spectacular and I cannot recommend it enough.
We ate two delicious starters - a pumpkin & blue cheese salad and the steak tartare. For our main, we had pork and venison - both fantastically cooked and seasoned.
But the evening was made even more special by watching (and chatting to) the Head Chef and his team do their magic during service as they prepared ours and everyone else's beautiful meals. It was fascinating!
We will definitely be returning for a proper treat :-) Thank you to the whole team at Hatched for the experience.
Beautiful food, nicely presented. It wasn't explained to us that these are sharing plates (these were placed in the middle with a clean plate per head to serve onto) - so if going in a group, try to all get different dishes.
I was actually sick a few hours after this meal but I'm not sure if it was the food as no one else who I ate with got sick?! But hence, drops 1 star.
Lovely dinner. The food was delicious; definitely on the pricey side but totally worth it. Staff were friendly and the service was quick and on point. Great selection of wine. I highly recommend it!
Lovely little gem. We were at the counter and got to see all the cooking up close. A very small team puts together very tasty dishes, a shame we didn’t get to try them all, we will be back to work our way through the menu. The wine was delicious too!

Amazing place. Sit at the counter and watch Gaz and crew unfold the food stories in front of you. Food is delicious and abundant in equal measures. Absolute gem of a restaurant. This is more than food. This about enjoying watching and hearing about food being prepared for a feast.

This restaurant is a must if you want exceptional food and a laid back atmosphere. The chef is lovely, talented and attentive staff. Will be back again and again and I'm sure. All staff exceptionally welcome children. thank you!
Had the rosemary bread, pork belly and sirloin which were really tasty. The orange butter that accompanied the bread and chimichurri that topped the steak were the stars! We also had the new potatoes that were tasty but not amazing texture wise and the passion fruit crème brûlée which wasn’t set and served warm - not sure if that was the intention but wasn’t what I expected, given the £12 price tag I did have higher expectations for that dish.
Service was really good and setting was different with cutlery being in the drawers. Overall a great dining experience.
Shane Marshall is an outstanding chef. Hatched has been a neighbourhood treat for about 4 years. Always delivering gorgeous plates, olive oil/lemon charred broccoli, lobster ravioli, sea bass ceviche, Josper Prime rib, Pain Perdu. Sunday roasts are the best in London, every one says that but nothing here is en masse, the quality is next level, attention and standards, you really get proper quality. Sat at the bar last night, Shane is short staffed, he’s entertaining us, cooking, serving and handling our wine pairings plus the walk ins. Staffing as a result of CV19/Brexit - impossible. They had one lovely young man just starting out who was brilliant, a cool chef friend stepped in and his stalwart ‘big guy’ in the back. In a sea of over priced mediocrity this is the best place in clapham to eat and drink. You won’t find the wines here in many places. Hand picked. Spices all blended. No purées. No short cuts.
