Delicious salt beef sandwich and great service. Our server Lelde was incredibly helpful and friendly when working out how to accommodate my wife’s soya allergy. We’ll be back after another hard afternoons shopping.

Tried the Ruben sandwich as recommended by my waiter and I was very pleased. Salt beef was very tasty and I would definitely recommend it and have it again.

I've been here on several occasions and loved it every single time! People would consider it pricey, but the quality is excellent & as a big eater, honestly, the food fills you up. I would recommend against ordering your food with English mustard unless you're aware of how strong it is.

Tried the Brass Rail Reuben sandwich as recommended by Tarek who is a very amiable, very polite and great service crew. I enjoyed the sandwich. The place seemed to only have two staff at the time managing over 20 tables but they did so with speed, courteousness, and great service. I shall be back. 😋 The place was full at lunch time with a queue of people waiting to eat their sandwiches.

The service was good and they are attentive to and friendly with customers. The food was nice but average. Nothing too fancy. You can probably get the same quality of food for a lesser price elsewhere. The only reason this cafe is overpriced is because it is inside of Selfridges. It is also quite noisy but is convenient if you are shopping in or around Selfridges on the day and need a coffee break.

Brass Rail signature offering is the salt beef and the pastrami. The prices carry the Selfridges premium. My personal favorite is the Reuben which combines salt beef or pastrami on toasted rye bread, kraut, Swiss cheese, mustard and thousand islands sauce. Paying £10.95 for half a sandwich is pricey considering a whole Reuben sandwich at Reubens Deli in Baker Street will set you back £17.50. The premium cannot be fully justified. While the meat is tender and juicy, the rye bread can be significantly improved and extra mustard should be offered. The service is okay but seems constantly rushed. A good spot for a pastrami sandwich but be ready to pay a premium for it.

One of the few places in London where you can get yourself a hot salt beef sandwich (traditional local sandwich). For that alone, 5 stars. The staff was super nice, quick, and patient. Try the sandwich but be prepared it is the mustard that is “hot” ( made me tear up and cleared the sinuses lol). Worth it.

I have been coming here for more than 30 years. Like a pilgrimage every time I am in London. What is amazing is that unlike the meals at Harrods, the quality of the food is exactly as good as it first was in the early 90s....salute!
