Not common to find so many veggie options in a Korean place! Good drinks + gyozas + noodles. The areas for improvement would be bigger portion sizes and less oil in some dishes.

Absolutely delicious food. I tried the tofu bimbimbap and every bite of it was really delicious. We tried the kimchee pancakes, Tofu noodles, ginseng tea and a friend tried the seafood noodles. All of them tasted absolutely delicious. A must go place when in holborn.
Just one thing which i didnt like was the green tea. It did not have any aroma and was just like boiled water.

As a vegetarian i really liked this place. I ordered -
1. Glass noodles (LOVED it)
2. Tofu bibimbap (kimchi sauce was delicious, however it was given separately. I would have preferred the sauces to be cooked with the rice for better flavouring)

Quite reasonable on the pocket too.

Great food!

I was just passing when i was invited to come and try korean food.

Very very tasty! Flavours always appearing and creating a good feeling that we were in Korea.

Spicy (really spicy even for me that love spicy) chicken wings! But believe me that they were awesome!

Not cheap but its value for money! I recommend it!

EXCELLENT! Must have BULGOGI with BEEF!!! Amazing place, must try! I will absolutely visit again. Bulgogi didn't come with rice, that's why I'm giving 4.5 instead of 5. Excellent and delicious!!!!

Top notch Korean food. Quick service and excellent food. One of the best Korean food I have had in London.

Limited privacy though. Bigger portion sizes could help. For a snowy cold day it was unusually busy but good service.

Found Kimchee when looking for a place to have dinner. Had to wait for a table, while waiting had a gin, very tasty. Just missing some seats while we wait for table.
Foodwise me and my boyfriend shared vegetable dumplings (very good!), a avocado salad (just ok) and the main dish made of rice and beef which was good but could be improved with more flavour (we used the sauce from the dumplings) . For dessert we had panacotta which was very enjoyable. Would go back for another meal!

We came here for a work lunch, the atmosphere was great - busy and chaotic, with a hint of organisation from the numerous waiting staff patrolling the tables.
Lots of interesting dishes to try, we picked a huge selection then shared. I can't quite remember what we chose but it was all very good and very reasonably priced.
The atmosphere made it for me, I really enjoyed myself.

It's not often that I would bother writing a review for a restaurant where I only ate one dish (actually, it's not very often at all that I would only order one dish!) but that perhaps gives you a clue as to how much I enjoyed my one item! The background for eating so little was the fact that I wasn't actually supposed to be there. Some old university friends of mine were meeting there for dinner and finishing work at the time I usually do meant that I declined.

But come 7.30pm and following the chaos of the working week, I decided a delicious Korean meal with some of my favourite people was just what the doctor ordered and off I went. As I walked to the train station, I asked my friends, who were already there, if they could ask the restaurant to add on an extra seat and even at the last minute, this was no issue for them at all.

Once I arrived, even on a very busy Friday night, the staff were really quick to offer me drink and I made the most of their great range of non alcoholic drinks. Having rather naughtily snacked before I came out and given that the others had finished their meals, I went straight for a main course and after the majority of the group told me how delicious their bimimbaps had been, I knew I'd have to try one and this time, I went for tofu.

The food arrived quite promptly and was piping hot. For those of you who have never tried a bimimbap dish, it is rather like being served a combination of rice, egg, meat (or in my case tofu) in a very hot stone bowl in which the food continues to cook after being served so as you stir it upon arrival, the food and egg are continuing to cook.

I love the way that the dish unfolds in front of you and each spoonful tastes every so slightly different to the last.

What was also nice was the generous portion size meaning that no one ended up needing or wanting any more as everyone was full following mains or starters and mains before we all retired to the sofa for another round of drinks.

The coconut green tea drink, despite being full of flavours that I usually love, did not quite work for me, as I found it slightly too sweet but I loved the buzzy atmosphere in here and it was a great choice for a large group of friends to eat some fabulous Korean food in central London - and you can actually book, which if you read my reviews regularly, is something you'll know I increasingly value these days!

Great Decor, Okay Food. It is such a treat to have a sensibly priced restaurant near where I work. The decor is so attractive, and please please please use the toilet whilst there. They are well worth the visit all in themselves.

The hot pot Bi Bim Bap was average and squid starter was not correctly fried.

However, they often have lunch specials and the food is a decent value for price.

Korean food experience. We went to Kimchee on Thursday night for at 7:00pm sitting. I read some mix reviews on the net but like to try out the place myself. There was a large Q but will worth the wait. We enter a very stylish restaurant, the interior was warm modern fused an wink to classic Korean. The walls where exposed layered grey stone covered with glass. They did similar style with natural wood walls covered with glass. What made it look like a preserved work of art.

I have to say from beginning to end the staff could not have been more charming, helpful and were there when you wanted them to be. Although it was very busy. The waiter helped us with the Korean food as we where not familiar with this delightful cuisine.

The food was wonderful really wonderful - We all loved it, we shared al dishes. As a starter we ordered the scallop skewer, chilly prawns and soft shell crab. everything was very tasty, very hot (heat wise) and beautifully presented.

We had various cocktails starting with a gorgeous red Soju one. which was also very good and complimented the pork belly dish wonderfully. The Bulgogi dish was a delightfully tasty mix of flavours.

I really enjoyed the vibe in this restaurant, we had an early sitting but it was buzzy and next to our group where many Korean guest. Looking at there faces it was obviously good food.

The meal for three was well priced - as you can tell from the review we did not go mad but felt that we got good service and excellent food and therefore it was worth it.

Can't wait to go again and will do so soon as it's well affordable.

Apart from the name Kimchee, no where did the restaurant show a sign of Korean. At best it resembled the style of Busaba Eathai, the communal eating Thai restaurant chain. You are guided to a table already filled with chatter and delicious food, despite of the countless free tables available. If it’s a strategy deliberately put in place to entice more orders, then I’d gladly believe it. Especially when the dishes looked so delicious and somewhat traditional. Each dish has a number like those in a takeaway menu and the extensive list of Korean dishes does require some thinking.  Korean menus can take a few meals to get used to. Start with a plate of kimchi which is a cold starter with Chinese cabbage marinated in chilli. Asian families have a strong sharing culture so everything should be shared. Go for a few plates of BBQs like bulgo

Not everything was perfect – the Jap Chae was desperately poor, but the quality of some of the other dishes, especially the excellent Bulgogi, easily made up for that. Add to that the practically bargain prices, and fast and friendly service, and we definitely have a winner.

When Kimchee opened its doors it quickly became popular and word of mouth spread rapidly.  When my friend and I finally stepped into its doors. There was a long queue forming inside, the Holborn branch. There was a 50% off promotion going on and we waited half an hour. Kimchee interior Whilst we waited I took the time to admire the stunning décor and interior. The open kitchen is very large and sharing table reminded of Busaba eathai dining space.

What: Korean Restaurant

Where: Holborn

Value: £20pp

Food Review: The food was order (using the awesome folding menu) and drinks came within minutes and soon to follow, the food with no time at all. The fruit juices on offer were mango or berry, the mango did not stand out and the berry was quite sour. Next to come was the star of the show, the seafood bibimbap. Sizzling and sticky with a copulous amount of seafood, it certainly hit the spot. Next the seafood pancakes, veggie dumplings, calamari and fish. Not the best sides but were enjoyable nonetheless.

Settings Review: As you walk in, you see rows of tables lined up, with groups sitting side by side. The tables and chairs themself are on the smaller side and it may be a bit difficult getting in and out. The kitchen is also on display to show diners of the food preparation and is the only lit up thing as the main dining area is not.

Positives: quick service

Negatives: sides arent as good as mains

3 Word Review: bibimbap is delicious

Kimchee offers some great, authentic Korean cuisine, along with some kickass Korean cocktails.

The recipes aren't very different from what you're already used to. I came here with a large group of people, so I was able to sample many dishes, and as far as I can tell, you can't go wrong, regardless of your choice.

Oh, and do pay a visits to the restroom, the sinks are pretty cool.

Going to a restaurant where you’ve pretty much only read poor reviews is never a good start… We went to experience our first ever Korean meal last week and as I was reading up on it on the internet it wasn’t looking promising.

Kimchee is in a weird bit of the city – High Holborn, there’s not a huge amount else there, apart from half a dozen Cards Galore and T.M.Lewin shops. When we arrived, thirty minutes early, there was a queue and were surprised to see that the massive restaurant was full – it was 7pm on a Tuesday night. Inside the decor was sleek and stylish, and very cool slatted light shades that we’d like in our house. Our expectations lifted as we looked through the extensive menu whilst sat in the purposely designed waiting area (nice idea), complete with water feature. We didn’t have to wait long, and were led to the back of the restaurant to our table, I could’ve quite happily stayed and watched men barbecuing meat and making fire in the kitchen for a bit longer, although am sure they didn’t appreciate my gawping at them and taking photos.

Once seated, I spotted a fellow diner eating out of a pot perched inside a wooden box thing, I didn’t know what it was but I wanted it. First off we ordered drinks, a Soju Red - A sweet shot of raspberry liqueur blended with Soju and crushed ice, finished with fresh raspberries and mint. Ade had a Bora Blue – Blueberry liqueur mixed with Soju and crushed ice, topped with fresh blueberries, both £5.40. There are two sections for cocktails, one made from Soju, a Korean white spirit similar to vodka, but sweeter. The others are made from Makgeolli, a milky looking drink made from a mixture of wheat and rice, more on this later. We thought how cheap they were compared to most restaurant cocktails, and really tasty too, mine was the perfect cocktail for me and Ade loved his that he described as tasting like a Slush Puppy.

Kimchee (a traditional fermented Korean dish made of vegetables with a variety of seasonings) – Pickled cabbage Kimchee with chilli and garlic £2.50 was the first thing to arrive and didn’t look very appetising but was actually OK, we had a laugh trying to pick up the slippery cabbage leaves with chopsticks. Next was Crab Tuigim – soft shell crab fried in breadcrumbs served with a plum dipping sauce £5.40. It had a light flavour with a lovely crunchy coating, I dipped mine in the sweet and sticky plum sauce but Ade kept it simple and ate his with a dribble of lime juice.

We were advised by Twitter to try the traditional Korean pancakes, so ordered Bin Dae Duk – pancake with mung bean and vegetables served with a soy and chive sauce £5.50. These were quite bland but livened up when dunked in the soy sauce, I loved the texture of these, not your average pancakes, these had a crunchy outer shell.

We made an error when ordering short beef ribs – Bulgalbi, we ended up with Bulhogi – thinly sliced beef marinated in a fruity sauce with onions and garlic £7.90. We stuck with it and it was gorgeous, although Ade had a little sulk, he loves ribs. Mild chicken Bulgogi – tender chicken marinated in a fruity mildly spiced chilli pepper sauce £6.90 was SO good, both dishes come with crisp lettuce leaves for you to make your own little wraps, I really loved this, so simple but a great combination. And the chicken appeared to be thigh also which made it even tastier.

Another must-try we were told was Chicken Bimimbap - a rice dish served in a sizzling hot earthenware pot, with vegetables, red chilli paste and a raw egg perched on top, £8.20. I wasn’t keen on the raw egg part by once we mixed it up it kind of felt like it was cooked. The rice at the bottom of the pot is meant to be crunchy and golden brown but it wasn’t, a bit of a disappointment, especially as the chicken portion was quite small.

Now for my favourite dish of all, the one that makes me want to return – Hot Pot Bulgogi - thinly slices beef in a soy marinade cooked with vegetables and glass noodles in a steaming broth £7.60. Any description of a dish with the word ‘steaming’ has me hooked in right away. It was a rich, sweet hearty dish, the glass noodles were fascinating and gloopy, I could’ve eaten it all night. It also helped liven up the chicken Bibimbap which was quite unremarkable in comparison. Be warned of the cherries with stones in though!

By now I thought we’d be stuffed but I had bags of room for dessert, luckily there were only a few options which made for easy choosing. We shared a Red bean ice cream £3.40 and Chap Ssal Dseok – traditional soft chocolate rice cakes with a dusting of cocoa powder £1.95. Am sure these prices are the wrong way round, there was only one little scoop of the ice cream. While the Chap Ssal Dseok were amazing, like little soft squidgy dumplings, the chocolate oozed out as they were torn apart, delicious – why don’t they sell these in Sainsbury’s? Again these helped liven up the other dish.

We ended the night with a cup of Korean tea £2.20 per pot (have to try such things) which wasn’t good, it smelt like a boys changing rooms so it was a mission to get past that smell and to get it in my mouth. We persevered for a while but our taste buds (and noses) said no.

We needed something to get rid of the taste so we had some Mae Wha Soo – Korean Plum wine £11, which came in its own little bottle, this was a huge improvement to the tea, and gave us a warm glow in preparation for the journey home. I also tried one of the Makgeolli-based cocktails, a Berry Berry Nice – Makgeolli mixed with blueberry liqueur, shaken with crushed ice and finished with blueberries £5.40. It looked and tasted like a watery Yop yoghurt drink, the colour were fantastic – the picture doesn’t do it justice.

I was pleasantly surprised by Kimchee, and we couldn’t believe how busy it was. Seeing as we have never had Korean food before we’re not sure just how authentic it is – some reviews I read state otherwise. I don’t care as we really liked it, but would be keen to try another Korean restaurant to see how it compares. They also have a brilliant website with pictures of the food (and drink) on the menu! Always a bonus.

One of the best out there. The quality of food was amazing, I had the real katsu curry...not the crap you get in most places. King prawn was very tasty and fresh. I will definitely be going again
To top it all, the setting was top notch, clean and organised.
Although, as with all good restaurants, it's usually got people waiting but worth it for the experience that will make you go back again and again.

A modern Korean restaurant with various traditional Korean dishes. I've tried the bibimbap and pork belly dish and they are both tasty and have good portion. The place can be bit busy and noisy so might be difficult to grab the waiter attention but still worth a visit! They have recently changed the menu so it has less variety but there's still plenty of food to choose from.

The restaurant has a stylish setting with an open plan kitchen so that you can see your food being prepared, and long dark wooden tables which contribute to a lively atmosphere and community feel. Set in the law district in Holborn, it's a good place to go after work or for entertaining clients. I would suggest coming early to the restaurant, particularly if you're a large group as spaces will fill up quickly and you may have a wait otherwise.

To start off, my friend and I ordered a sweet and sour prawn starter, followed by one order of pork bulgogi, and one chicken bulgogi, with accompanying rice. I've never had bulgogi before, and the name doesn't give much of an indication of the Korean speciality, but I am pleased to say that bulgogi is beautiful. The meat is full of flavour with a bit of a spicy punch, and it comes with an extra optional fruity and spicy sauce which is also lovely and adds even more to the taste. The starter was a bit bigger than expected, but no complaints there! The prawns were delicious. Unfortunately for me my friend ended up hogging them so I didn't get to have too many. For dessert, I treated myself to a special-made chestnut ice-cream. This was another unfamiliar newcomer for my tastebuds; it was tasty and a good way to refresh and cleanse your mouth after the hot flavours beforehand.

The dishes were served quite artistically on a special wooden plate / box and a pot for the rice. Those kind of touches just help to add even more to the experience, especially as for me food is not only a means to appease hunger but also an enjoyable pastime. Coming from an Asian background, I am pretty familiar with Asian cuisine, however Korean food still remains fairly elusive. It's a shame because it has a lot to offer, particularly if you're a fan of meat dishes. Definitely worth a try.

Kimchee is an extremely large restaurant standing tall in High Holborn. This expansive space is filled with dark wooden screens making the interior look extremely slick and stylish yet the restaurant balances this by using traditional Korean tableware to maintain a sense of authenticity.
There must be at least 50 to 60 tables, composed of benches and large shared tables in this expansive space but at peak times it can feel a bit cramped, especially as the tables fill fast. In fact it’s worth dining early as despite the number of tables available there is often a queue spanning outside the restaurant.
Alongside the mass of tables, Kimchee also has an open plan kitchen and a charcoal BBQ, where the meat and fish dishes are cooked in full view by a what looks like way too many chefs.

Would I Want Seconds?
The name of the restaurant reflects one of Korea’s national dishes and Kimchee is prominent on the menu. There are many classic Korean dishes such as Dolsot Bibimbap, rice cooked in a hot stone bowl with toppings of your choice, as well as many barbeques options, which are popular in Korea.
I tried the Katsu Curry with Udon Noodles and it was full of flavour, however the portion was slightly on the small side compared to the hearty Katsu Curries served at Satsuma and Wagamamas, with this in mind I could have done with a second course.
The stand out feature of my meal was the Plum tea, I’ve not tried one that has tasted this good and the flavour combined well with the food itself. The fact that it was served in a traditional black iron tea pot also added to its charm.

Could I Afford Seconds?
Yes. The owner Mr Kim’s vision when he founded Kimchee was to bring the flavours from his native Korean to Londoners, but at an affordable price and this is certainly the case. One of the key reasons for the queue of diners that build up at this restaurant must be the price.
Main courses start at about £6 and range to the most expensive at £9. Side dishes are about £2-£4 and the priciest dessert is £3.40, prices which are rarely seen central London.

Overall:
Kimchee is perfect for a cheap meal in a stylish setting. It works well as a classier substitute for dining at Wagamamas, as they share many factors such as the benches and open kitchen.
I can see why this restaurant has become so popular, especially because of their prices, however it still has certain niggles it needs to sort out. For example I’ve heard many complaints about the slow services, and experienced it myself too, as it took such the same amount of time to eat the meal as to pay the bill. Despite the hoard of staff employed here the service is all over the place, but the staff are always apologetic about this.
Overall Kimchee is a good venue for a casual cheap meal, however I wouldn’t trust it with special occasions.

It's ridiculous how much I loved this place. Ambience, food, servers, pricing, cutlery everything I literally fell for. I don't remember the last time I finished a dish to the T. It's been more than a week but I still happen to remember each dish with it's taste to relish.
Order: Butsul (from the grill), vegetable dimsums, spinach and tofu soup, and plum tea.

If not for the food go to kimchee for that damn tea. It's made me crave plums for more than a week now. Each dish had an amazing serving style. Specially the grilled chicken which they serve with pakchoi leaves on the side. You can order rice to go with it if you like, it just makes it more filling. So if you there in Queensland and you haven't tried this place, you're definitely missing on something really special.

It's always reassuring when natives to a cuisine queue up to try the restaurant in question. Whether it is the large seating space inside, wide variation on the menu or accessible location near Holborn station, Kimchee always seems to be a popular choice.

The large restaurant seems to go on forever and is filled with communal tables where you can slurp noodle broths, cleans with green teas or sip oriental-inspired cocktails. The bar lounge downstairs is a hidden gem, offering an intimate, cosy place to tuck yourself away and enjoy a post-dinner digestif.

The décor is Eastern-inspired with an open-pan, minimalist and orderly layout, whilst the open kitchen displays multiple chefs at work on their culinary creations. The gentle lighting, communal layout and wooden interior add warmth to the restaurant.

Service was the major letdown with dishes coming out at different times and the scatty staff. For example, a glass of Prosecco was poured and brought to me, before shortly after being whisked away from under my nose when one waiter confirmed that they only did Prosecco by the bottle. Hmm.

My companion enjoyed a ‘Berry Berry Nice’ cocktail which was true to its name and had a tangy yet sweet taste, whilst my detoxing friend chose a green tea that arrived in a heavy lead pot with contents that never seemed to end!

The menu offers a good range of comforting dishes that cater for both those after authentic Korean and those looking for more Western dishes. The Yam Yeung Chicken was deliciously crispy in a thick, sweet glaze, whilst the Yuk Hwae is true to its Korean roots and contains thinly sliced raw beef, Asian pear and a sesame sauce that is guaranteed to warm you up!

The Kimchee was not my favourite; it had a spicy kick and consisted of layers of cold cabbage.

The Bi Bim Bap arrives in an impressive clay pot containing a mix of well-seasoned soul-food. The generous bowl of beef, egg, rice and vegetables were a struggle to finish, but a pleasure to attempt.

The noodle dishes were wholesome and with very soft noodles. The Jajang Myeon has a thick, rich, black bean sauce whic does become a bit too sickly sweet after a while, and the tiny pieces of pork in it are few and far between, only really adding flavour to the dish. The Katsu udon dish was similar but with slices of fried chicken on top; probably not the most authentically Korean choice on the menu, but a very popular one all the same.

The meal was highly enjoyable, light-hearted and affordable- a rare combination in central London. The upsides: a very varied and full-flavoured menu with something for everyone, and beautiful, Eastern decor of the restaurant. The downside: half-asleep staff and an overly-long wait for the bill.

The take-out store near Tottenham Court Road provide tasty, minimal-effort dinners after a busy day in the office or a hectic shopping session. But for the full works and a comfortable balance of ‘informal-but-still-occasion’, and big portions at Wagamama prices, head to the original restaurant on High Holborn.

During a mid week meet up with a friend, I was introduced to kimchee, a bustling, well presented Korean restaurant a few minutes away from holborn station. We popped in to book a table and found out they don't take reservations but we got chatting to the friendly waiter who kind of promised us a table if we came back at 7 pm. Sweet! So a couple of drinks later, we came back to find a short queue and indeed we were quickly whisked to our table. If only we got this treatment at other restaurants!

The restaurant has a open kitchen along one side so the restaurant just smells great, mainly of grilled meats. The seating is similar to busaba eathai and wagmama, sharing benches. We ordered yang yeum chicken (battered chicken in a tomatoey spicy sauce), raw beef bibimbap (you get a choice of whether you want an egg and if it's raw or fried) and pork bulgogi. The chicken was a bit lukewarm for something that was deep fried but the batter was crispy and the sauce was tasty but on the sweet side. The bimbimbap was good, not the best one I've ever had but it was satisfied my craving for it. The pork was a decent portion, well marinaded and cooked. It was nice that it was served with lettuce leaves, makes the dish less rich. I spotted a desert that I fancied so I caved and went for green tea jelly with matang. I couldn't really taste the green tea flavour in the jelly but enjoyed the sweet potato accompaniment.

I've been to other Korean restaurants with better food but none that had the atmosphere and the service of kimchee. The food was presented beautifully, the toilets were nice as well which is always a plus. Would definitely come back.

This place is a real gem and I've been several times with different types of people who have all loved it! I'm hugely into Asian cuisine so was crazy about the food, I've hardly tried Korean food before coming here and was certainly not disappointed.

I've never been here without having to be on the waiting list for a good half hour if we don't book in advance, there is always a long queue. The inside is very modern and slick, and it's great to see an open-plan kitchen and watch the cooks get to work preparing our food.

The actual Kimchee, which inspired the restaurant's name, was disappointing as it was literally just flavoured cabbage - not very filling. However their udon selection is yummy and all the food looked quite healthy and colourful.

A very modern Korean place. They serve authentic Korean dishes (my Korean friends think so!) and quite affordable too.

My favourite is the spicy yuk hwae (raw beef and egg) and pork bulgogi. What I love as well is the raw beef bulgogi. The cocktail Soju Red was great as well.

However, the service can sometimes be awful when it's busy. There was once they completely missed out my order. But if you're patient, the food here is really good.

First thing you'll see upon entering is the massive multilayered grill where the meat is cooked, and that's what Kimchee is mostly about. The bulgogi is just perfect, juicy and fruit, but it'd be an error to stop there. The Korean fried chicken, served with a sticky glaze in a crispy rice basket is delicious, as well as other grilled dishes and the nicely presented bimbibap. The service can be a bit pushy at times, but the venue is very beautiful with high ceilings and wooden tables, and the food is prepared to very high standards

Efficient and polite service but the food was a bit of a mixed bag... I liked the grilled scallop, grilled asparagus and Jap chae (Korean glass noodles). The mackerel was good with the spicy sauce and it came with lots of veggies. The ice cream (sesame and green tea) was good too. The salmon tasted like frozen fish, the grilled mushroom was burnt and I didn’t like the sauce at all. The rice cake with cheese was very heavy and it wasn’t very pleasant as the dish got cold quite quickly... Overall, for the price that I paid, I wouldn’t complain too much.

Quality and tasty food, even compared with many other Korean restaurants in London. I really like my beef soup. Also, I like the environment and how quickly they served the food given it was very busy during the lunch time.

Authentic Korean experience . The starters are great...the kimshee cakes are a must try...the bibipmap was ok but could have been better. The chicken was not great but overall it was a good meal. The restaurant has a good atmosphere.

As a huge fan of Korean cuisine, it was a must to go there during our stay in London. We booked in advance via OpenTable which worked perfectly as usual. We arrived early in the evening so there were still many seats available. An hour later around 7 p.m. it got really busy. The place seems to be very popular with Asians (we were surrounded by Chinese students). They tend to order the dishes others post and recommend on social media. Really fun to watch :) We’ve ordered Asahi beer (unfortunately Asahi is the only draft beer that is served in a pint glass). Our menu: Chimaek (4 wings and 2 strips) and scallops as starter, raw beef Dolsot Bibimbap and Ugeoji Galbitang soup (A flavourful soup made from cabbage leaves and short beef ribs slowly simmered in a beef rib stock and seasoned with soy bean topped with chilli and spring onion) as main dishes. Although the quality of Chimaek can’t compare to the original one we had in South Korea, Bibimbap and the soup were very good and especially the soup not too spicy. The atmosphere at the restaurant was quite lively however personally was expecting more of a Korean atmosphere (e.g. Korean staff, Korean music).

Good food but quite crowded. Barbeque needed more flavor and the spicy bean sauce seemed congealed. Long delay for simple desserts. Overall, probably quality and service suffered from having so many customers.

Perfect Korean food - super delicious! The atmosphere is quite nice - modern Korean Style. If you are not familiar with Korean food, just ask. The employees will you explain everything very detailed. Normally you will get every dish as soon as they are ready (maybe main dishes before starter). If want to get the meals separated by course , you have to order it step by step. - go for the mixed variant :) - during the early dinner time it is not so crowded.

Authentic Korean cuisine. When you enter you can sit down and enjoy a relaxing corner with pebbles and small waterfall. Staff was very friendly. The order were pretty fast and we got food immediately. It was Friday afternoon so it was busy, but luckily when we came at 6:00 pm it wasn’t that busy it started to be busy 15 minutes later. The food was delicious. Bibimbap had a heating container so I enjoyed my warm food for quite awhile. The food is very filling so I would definitely avoid starter or dessert or order these ones with main meal but without any extra side dishes.

We had two good dishes where one of them was a more authentic korean dish. The crispy part on the gui salmon was not bad but in my opinion it hadn‘t much of a taste and unfortunately the broccoli was a little bit raw. The honey and gingseng tea we ordered was delicious and the look and feel of the teapod and cup was also nice. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant itself had a nice modern look.

Went here first time and was worried if it was too busy, but was not that busy and we luckily had place to sit. The food was good, I have nothing to complain. Food came out fast and hot. I saw the reviews and was worried about the service but it was fine. We were served by a girl with short hair and glasses. She was very nice and polite, so we didn’t have problem with service. We had pork belly, kimchee jeon (kimchi pancakes) and jjam bbong (seafood noodle soup). Will come again.

I recommend this Korean restaurant as a Korean. I visit here repeatedly and their dishes are authentic. Nice Seafood Tofu-jjigae’s broth(2nd img). But mocktails(4th image).... I couldn’t enjoy their taste, I agree that these are creative menu but haven’t had this kind of drinks before in Korea. They are super busy some evenings, but you will never fail with thier food!

The taste of the dumpling is awesome, it tasted exactly like the ones I had in Korea. Jjigae and the Kimchi Fried rice that I had were however different from the authentic Korean taste. Overall, the Korean food is satisfying.

We love this place. Good food, native Korean people all the time. We go every couple of months and we try to introduce friends to this place so we can have nice social dinners. Sometimes it is super crowded, but you can wait at the bar downstairs enjoying a nice cocktail.

Sleek and modern Korean restaurant with a touch of Korean authentic interior designs. I always come here for Korean food whenever I am visiting London for some hot spicy Ddeokbbokggi and Fried chicken. The staffs are very friendly and prices are not that bad. My top recommendation would be the Spicy Friend Chicken. It comes in a fried rice paper too yum 😋 also try Makgulri the Korea rice wine if you want to try traditional Korean alcohol. Although the one they offer is not authentic traditional, if you want to try that then must come to Korea 😃

Surprised by the 4.0 average review. Food is great, fast service and good decor! 16:00 lunch was fairly quiet.

Visited a while ago, but I believe it is now temp closed. They have another chain in kings cross. The food here is always delicious, I have visited a few times. Can't wait till they open again. I had dumplings, fried prawns, beef with salad, the corn sticks in sauce, bipimbap and of course kimchi.

Me and my friends went to London today to specifically try this place out as we lived in Korea prior. I must say the food didnt disappoint. If you've ever lived or visited korea and enjoyed the food, you'll do the same here. Now the prices aren't not even closed but this is the UK so it's a lot more expensive compared to Korea, but worth it. They had soju, but no hite, even tho it's on the menu. The staff was ok and the venue its self was nice and clean. I would also reccomend making reservations. All in all I would recommend this kimchee
