I used to live around the corner from this place ... If i could go for a meal anywhere in the UK now , it would be here ! best Pizza in London and every meal I had there was superb !
What a great place! My wife is Italian and thought the food was excellent...a truffle tagliatelle to die for and perfect pizza. We've been a few times now, always a great atmosphere, lovely staff and nice for a post meal romantic walk along the river!
Seriously good. My first visit to this great little place. Fabtastic pasta, great red wine by the glass and one of the best coffees ever. Can't wait to return.
Yummy in my tummy. I went to Melanzana last Monday for dinner and delighted with my meal. I had the Seppia pasta with Clams and Mussels as a main and Mussel soup for starter. The pasta was very different and delicious. I found out later, that Melanzana buy fresh pasta not the dried stuff.
I was so stuffed that I could only split a dessert which was the home made Tiramisu.
I didn't have any problems with the service. I found the waiter very attentive and he explained the menu to us. We'll definately return.
Friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended. Great atmosphere. A party of 6 of us went for a weekend lunch a week after it's opening. All the tables were full and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal. We all certainly did. We met people who were there for their 3rd visit. The staff are efficient and friendly. The deli and take-away, which have a good selection of tasty looking Italian food, were also doing a good trade.
Melanzana was one of those places that we weren’t sure whether to go into or not. This was only because we thought it may just be a take away deli and we wanted somewhere that we could sit in and have hot drinks. As soon as we entered, we were impressed with the colourful displays and the range of food in the deli. Little did we know that Melanzana was a restaurant as well. It’s a shame that some of the food was open on top of the counters. They had a range of breads, pastries, cold meats, olives and roasted vegetables.
Even though Melanzana opened yesterday I was able to enjoy an excellent plate of pasta a la Norma (Rigatoni with aubergine , tomato and garlic sauce ith Sicilian Ricotta). The daily changing menu is availble to eat in or take away. The deli counter has a

Excellent Italian restaurant. The food is delicious, the portions are big and the staff are fantastic (thank you again Rola!). The decor inside is perfect and the whole experience makes you feel like you're in Italy. We were so impressed we booked to go again whilst we were there.
Nice italian restaurant with a great value for the money. The pizza was very good, however, it's not the typicall napolitan pizza. We had the cheesarama (mozarella parmiggiano gorgonzola and more) and the lasagna which was excellent. They have peroni although it's pricey (almost £7 for a small bottle). The atmosphere is nice and the attention was very good.
I cannot recommend Melanzana enough! Celebrating a 25th birthday with a table of 20 and they made it so perfect. The food was amazing, the service incredible and they made us feel so special. Nothing is ever too much for the staff, they are so welcoming and so attentive. Thank you to all the staff for such a fun evening- we are so grateful❤️
Amazing place food and atmosphere. We go there very often and owner is super friendly and always greets with a smile. I have to say one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever tried! I highly recommend. Also is in a lovely and old building in Battersea Square
Great and very cozy Italian restaurant! Super tasty pizza and pasta as well as other options. There are vegetarian options too. Great desserts - tiramisu, pannacotta, profiteroles, ice cream... You can also order by phone and pick up as take away. Usually there are free tables with no advance booking bit if you are more people better to book in advance.
Came here to celebrate my birthday with my family. I love what they did with the place, beautiful restaurant. Amazing staff and amazing service. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone who came left satisfied and happy. They made my birthday extra special with all the decorations and by singing happy birthday. The owner greeted all of us and made sure we were all happy with the service as well as the food. Thank you so much Melanzana. We will definitely be returning.
The service at the restaurant was very good and friendly. We went with kids and it's a very child friendly. The food was overall very good. I thought my pizza could have been a bit more cheesy though. Would recommend going here. Price was also very acceptable considering we had starters and dessert as well.
The prosciutto and rocket pizza was the single best slice I've ever had. The place is cozy and welcoming, and is the only place on our vacation where our kids finished their entire meal - the 7 and 8 year old crushed a whole pizza and half the garlic bread.
This is such a hidden gem! So glad we finally booked after passing the restaurant in the car so many times.
Please ignore the negative reviews as the owner and staff (who are family) could not have been more accommodating. Their recommendations were superb and they were so kind to our 4 year old son. We can't wait to go back.
