American beer lover, loves this pub. I think it's got the best craft beer selection I've seen in London. Nick and Tom are freakin awesome!
Great pub, lovely people, tasty beer, nice menu! Couldn't be better, favourite pub in Bermondsey!

Finally landed in London (woohoo!) and our first dinner was at a pub called Simon The Tanner which Mr D found online prior to our trip. . It has a casual ambiance and all sorts of people come by. The staff are friendly and you just pick a table, sit down and let them know what you want. Of course we had to have beer and cider because we’re in London BABYYYY! I got the cheeseburger since I didn’t want anything else (yes I know, I should have gotten Fish and Chips…) and it wasn’t too bad. The beef patty was GINORMOUS and had a slice of cheese, tomato and lettuce in it.
A family friend upon hearing I was living in SE1 immediately recommended STT as a top 3 Borough pub. Am not sure it's quite that high up on the table, but it's not a bad choice. Decent ales on tap, guaranteed tasty pint.
The interior and its layout is a little drab meaning there isn't much atmosphere but it's still worth dropping in if you're passing by and looking for a wee drink.
It’s my local so I don’t want to toot the horn too loudly, but this place has it all. Great food, great tap selection, and fab bar keepers. These aren’t cocktail specialists, so either keep it simple (two ingredients max) or just enjoy the great beer! Live DJ is the icing on this cake.
Great sound system and nice acoustic. When it gets full and people are loud it's hard to appreciate because the room hasn't been acoustically treated very well, but well worth a visit when it's peaceful, especially now Spiritland on the Southbank had closed. OMG, they serve real ale which is a total bonus. Love it.

CONTEXT
There for a 'meet our baby' social with some friends who hadn't met our 14 week year old daughter. Booked it 3 - 6pm ... we stayed till 8...
ATMOSPHERE
LOVED this pub! Its slightly off the beaten track near Borough Station in South London, and so for a Saturday afternoon of chilled baby boozing, was perfect atmosphere. Its quite small and you can see everyone from everywhere in the pub. Also some chairs out the front where it really captures the sun in the late afternoon, perfect.
SERVICE
Staff were lovely, very friendly and accommodating for us and our babyness which we appreciated. Fairly quiet, so if you're looking for a super busy part pub, maybe not this one, but maybe its different on other times.
STYLE
Classic pub, looks like an oldy from outside and i'm sure has had a few iterations over the years, but the inside is tidy, modern, but keeping with the great pub aesthetic with these awesome looking 'booths' with curtains on them (not sure what goes on when curtains are shut, but there you go :) ).
TOILET
Smelt lovely from the male end, my only criticism was baby changing was only in female toilets as far as i could see.
PRICE
London, that is all i'll say, expect premium pay. £6.70 for one pint, varied depending on what you ordered though.
FOOD & DRINK
SUPERB beer selection, both cast and keg, there seemed to be great choice of wine and spirits drank by our friends as well. We also had some polenta fries as a snack later on that were AMAZING! So yea well worth it.
We just went for drinks, so the food grade is for the drink selection, but I really liked it. The staff were friendly and quick whilst the venue itself had a relaxed vibe with a live DJ, but the music was not overly loud, so you could hear yourself speak. It's one of those venues which when you go to you think 'aha this I'd uow to make a nice pub/bar' but full credit to the team there since if it were so simple all ours would be as good hir they're not. Sadly, I don't live close by, so I'm not sure when I'll go back, but hopefully, I will get the opportunity one day
This is a really good local pub, with lots on tap they also have a decent selection of wine.
They have really cheap ales too so it's a good place to go if you're saving your pennies.
The pub has no outdoors, so it can get a bit crowded inside. However, they don't play really loud music, so you can actually hear each other, which is rare atm. And it's got a really nice atmosphere.
The food looks good, and I can tell they take pride in their food it's mostly pizza, but smelled really good, so I will need to give it a try next time.

Great little spot away from the madness. The staff were brilliant and really helpful, they even came round to take drinks orders when they saw we were running low. The venue itself is really nicely decorated. Dont have a dog (want one) but they are dog friendly too. I'll definitely be coming here again. Highly recommend it 👌
Absolutely superb bar, super friendly and attentive staff, great range of beers and ciders, and the roast dinner is amazing, it’s a genuinely packed plate, good meat, lots of trimmings, huge yorkshires and lashings of gravy.
Fabulous place. The Sunday lunch was high quality at a good price! Well worth seeking this little back street pub out! Only 10 min walk from London Bridge Station! Loved the vinyl music playing!
Good atmosphere, local pub in Bermondsey.
Recommend IPA and Saltaire bitter.
Incredible food and service! An incredibly talented chef and friendly staff. Best vege pub food I’ve ever eaten and very reasonable prices. This place is a hidden gem :))
