We Visit this pub every weekend, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, delicious food, good booze my favourite pub. Always a lovely crowd, the owners have transformed this place and their dog Teddy is 💖
We had our wedding here. It was the best day. The landlady, Lesley is so friendly and helpful and has completely made over this pub for the better. All the staff are excellent, hardworking and friendly. They make you feel at home. The food is top notch and it looks great, inside and out. Great with our toddler too. Cannot recommend highly enough. Best pub in the area. Thank you Talbot crew!
Aaah the Lovely Talbot. Sunday roast is the best I've had in London, absolutely delicious and hearty. Great atmosphere and very clean. Owner is lovely and staff very friendly. Well worth a visit. Can't comment on food during the week as I've only been there on a Sunday. Best roast in London? Might just be.

Top class food. Absolutely delicious food served in the evenings at the Talbot. Have never gone for brunch, but as lots of people recommend this also, will do this soon with me two kids and husband.
As for tonight, going out with my friends for a girly catch-up with wonderful food, great ambiance and cozy backdrop to make the night really memorable.
My friends say fish pie is to die for, but unfortunatly it includes peas which i'm allergic too, will have to see if they can accomodate excluding the peas for me as really want to try this much talked about dish
See you tonight Talbot x
Love it .... I do like the Talbot as it's just around the corner from me and I would agree the staff are really friendly in the Talbot - that's quite refreshing. Also, the food is gorgeous.
Please don't go changing anything - it's great as it is.
Good food & drinks, & friendly staff at the Talbot SE4. Recommended.
Fab find in Lewisham. Great brunch at weekends, and dinner menu is good too. The beer selection is a welcome find. Lewisham has a new food venue!
Get there before 130 on a Sunday. The place was packed with Sunday lunchers today. Had an excellent crusty sea bass on cracked new potatoes. The smoked haddock fishcakes with celeriac remoulade got the thumbs up, as did the chocolate brownie with vanilla icecream and cheeseboard. Service was prompt and aimiable. Very good winelist and range of beers, EXCELLENT Deuchars ipa. The first floor dining room is a great, light space. All in all a desperately needed addition to the Brockley/St Johns going out local scene.
Good food, especially brunch, a very welcome and much needed addition to the area. Try the cloudy cider.
We popped in for a quick drink and needed up staying a few hours, having seen the menu. Everything about our lunch there was great. The staff were lovely & attentive and the food was perfectly cooked & beautifully presented. They have a decent selection of the usual good keg beer and the cask ale was well kept & perfectly cellared.
Such a lovely place for a Sunday roast! The atmosphere is lively and full of locals but still laid back and very chill. We booked to sit outside the day before but next time we’ll book further in advance so we can sit under the covered area which looked cosier and had pretty lights.
Service was warm and smiley, though slightly slower towards the end as they got much busier which was totally understandable. (You probably do need to book in advance for a Sunday roast to avoid disappointment!)
As for the food we came mainly for the Sunday roast but wanted to try the pigs head croquettes which sounded interesting - the outside had a crispy light breading and the filling was porky, fatty, slightly gelatinous, melt in your mouth and went really well with the chilli jam. They also kindly gave us some sourdough with whipped butter to try, and this was also really good! The butter was light and creamy and had flakes of sea salt in it and the bread was soft and crusty.
Onto the main event, we had the beef roast and the cured pork chop - the beef was tender and seasoned nicely however I wish it was a bit pinker, and the pork chop was massive but a little too salty. The roast potatoes were crispy and we liked all of the other vegetables too which were all cooked well. One of the best yorkies we’ve tried as well, light and crispy but still fluffy. Gravy was good but wished there was a bit more!
Nice to come here if you want to treat yourself to an elevated pub lunch or Sunday roast. Expect around £35 pp.
Stylish corner pub with attractive outside space.
The pub food and drink is good quality. Excellent range of beer on tap. We had some Mexican tacos from a special outlet which were great and a pleasant surprise from ordinary pub grub. Great on a sunny day.
Went to try some of the tacos, really good flavours with proper corn tortillas. Some of the better Mexican food I've had in London. Service is friendly but not overbearing. The pannacotta was also amazing, really nice contrast of textures and flavours.
A local gem, innovative Sunday roasts (confit duck leg with patas bravas), great beer and wine selection and meticulous service - will be back to try the taqueria with the family
Great Sunday roast, super generous portions. The staff were all really helpful and friendly, especially the maître d'. The venue has a great ambience and is clean and neat.
Called in Monday evening without a table booking didn't have to wait fortunately. Lovely relaxing atmosphere staff very good. Large covered outdoor area. The menu is small but the food is quality, its not cheap but worth the prices.
Incredible meal at the Talbot with my family from Sydney - the best of their trip to London. We especially loved the whipped cods roe and chicken skin and bayonne ham. Gorgeous wine too. Kids were very happy with their meals and ice cream. Friendly staff and relaxed vibe. Loved it!
Stunning pub in Brockley The Talbot has recently had a huge refurb. Foods great and the garden seating is brilliant. Inside looks amazing with a new dinning room upstairs. And a new look downstairs. I highly recommend this place. Would have got five stars but its a bit pricey for me. ❤️📸

Excellent food here, always changing menu and decent beers, drinks and wine. It’s always busy here and I’ve never been disappointed with the food - the Mexican tacos this summer were amazing and the most authentic I’ve had in this country. Lovely spacious outside area and they also host parties and events here too.
