We have been going to this restaurant for 25 years and it has always been great.
On this occasion, we shared onion bhajees and sheesh kebabs for starters, followed by Achari chicken, chicken tikka Masala, and a chicken balti, with pilau rice, plain, garlic and peshwari nans.
Everything was fresh and delicious.

After poppadoms and dips, I went for the chicken balti keshri as my main, which I’ve not had before. It comes with a plain naan and I added chana sag as a side. The main was delicious - flavoursome sauce, good quality chicken, generous portions… I didn’t feel I needed to add rice. I would definitely have this dish again.
Thank you Star of India for providing plenty of options for those of us who don’t like overpowering spice-heat, which many restaurants seem to use to mask the flavour of their food.
This restaurant has a good range of fine Indian food, from the expected kormas, madrases and vindaloos to some more unusual dishes. It is best to book but not always necessary. A restaurant that is always popular with the locals and usually fairly busy. Tables are spaced adequately so you won't be squashed but sometimes the tables could be bigger to fit all the dishes that have been ordered. Well worth a visit.

I've eaten here a few times it is actually one of my favourite indians compared to others. Good value and generous portions, atmosphere is very ambiotic and peaceful. Service not bad my only complaint is nan bread always seems burnt but other than that deserve 5 stars i highly recommend and will return.
