I had the roast duck and it was awesome. The service was fast and the food fresh. The ducks hanging in the window is what pulled me in. That is usually a good sign of authentic Chinese food.
Always our 'go to' place for dim sum when we're in the city! Amazing food, friendly service, reasonable prices - what more could you ask for?!
Chinatown’s Best and cosy place to have a supper!!
Ambience is perfect.
Place is just near Leicester Square.
food is superb.
Staff is good too.
😋👍
Haozhan is a self-professed roast duck specialist restaurant. Located on Gerrard Street in the heart of Chinatown (literally a minutes’ walk from Leicester Square) it’s one of those restaurants which has red-orangish roasted ducks hanging in its display window. I thought it would be the perfect place to bring my daughter, who has grown up in Dubai with PF Chang’s VIP duck as her reference, to try the real McCoy – Peking Duck. For the record, there are many restaurants in Dubai which serve excellent crispy duck.
Quick paced service. Authentic dim sums. Warm and fresh Chinese tea. Huge variety. Friendly on the pocket. What more does one need? The pot rice is highly recommended. I wish the restaurant was a little more spacious. Cost for a couple - GBP 35 approximately.
GREAT. This was simply the best Chinese food i have ever eaten so far. I love asian food and i have eaten in several chinese restaurants in my life. I got there by chance and i was simply amazed from the quality of food that we were served. The meat was so juicy and tender, so well cooked that every bite was like being in heaven, We ordered just spring rolls( super fresh and crunchy), beef eye rib with fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. Everything was prepared with care and i could feel the ingrediends and freshly grounded spices in my mouth. Not a cheap restaurant (50 pounds for those dishes) but worths every single penny, I will certainly go back again and again.
Good quality food but misleading website. Haozhan has been on my agenda for a while and I expected something different to other restaurants in Chinatown. I must admit I wasn't that impressed with the ambience but the concept of contemporary Chinese cuisine was very satisfying, all the meat exceptionally tender, well flavoured and I had the best aromatic duck in UK!
On the other hand, service was average and the bill was twice what I would've normally paid at an ordinary Chinese place. I enjoyed the food though and my partner was happy so no complaints.
Overall, Haozhan isn't as flashy as shown on the website but I would recommend experiencing their modern style of catering.
Better than your standard Chinatown restaurant. I went for an evening meal here with my parents. It was nice to go to a 'modern Chinese' that was nicely decorated inside for a change instead of the sometimes tacky looking alternatives. Whilst the service has room to be improved; too many waiters and a couple of requests lost in translation, the food itself was good. I can recommend the Sanpei Chicken, and the Singapore Vermicelli went down really well with all too. Overall I'd say it was a good meal if a little on the expensive side.
A Chinatown favourite. Good and quirky choices, made fresh and well. Service as you'd expect from a Gerrard Street Chinese restaurant, but with quality far and away superior.

Hapzard service. Inconsistent menu but half of it was lovely. Approach with caution not as good as reviews suggest
Haozhan is a fantastic place to eat, and I can strongly recommend it. The sweet and sour chicken was unbelivable and if you go, definately try the jasmine spare ribs and the deep fried ice cream. 150% on any day!
i and i had our tastelondon girlie dinner date last night. post two tastelondon dinners i have now been accused that i am responsible for what i call 'a moment on the lips, forever on the hips' syndrome. i's contention is that we are eating more than we w
Cantonese style food with delicious roast pork, dim sums and dumplings and buns and vegetables - tastes like home and the alfresco dining is a happy experience. The hat gow (shrimp) dim sum tastes like home. They give lots of chili which is great. And the jasmine tea was sublime. So good we went 2x.
Not my first time eating here and won’t be my last, I have been to this restaurant for years.
It is my “go-to” restaurant in China Town. High quality food with a fair price, and I think this place is better than a lot other restaurants in China Town. Definitely a great place for a simple delicious meal.
I have recommended to friends in London or friends visiting from Asia.

Coming from Asia, I am quite surprised with the quality of Chinese food in London. Eating in one of the Chinese joints made me feel at home. The staff is efficient, cheerful and friendly. Kate very quickly picked up a dropped chopstick and brought a new pair in the speed of lightning.
Love the crispy duck, while roasted duck is freely available in singapore, crispy duck is not so available.
The vegetables will well pan fried, not over nor undercooked. The beef is of good quality too. It was a set dinner we opt for ( lazy to think) consisted of a sichuan sour soup, crispy duck, pepper beef , sweet and sour pork and mixed veg. £19.90 per person is good and reasonable. 🫶🏻
I could not have been happier with my food choice… I order the Fried Ho Fun and inhaled the entire dish by myself!! It was so delicious. I’ll definitely go back.
Pros: We were exploring the neighborhood and decided to give this one a shot. It was a great choice! We had the Three meat barbecue, dim sum, and noodles.
Con: the pork rice noodles were a bit cold, but overall good taste. We would come back.
Great food and service, will be coming back in the near future. Was a bit concerned about the 3/5 score on the door but so far so good. The dim sum set with duck and mains was a good choice. I have a feeling there may have been a lot of salt in the food as I can't stop downing glasses of water this evening however, it tasted good.
I'm korean.
Recommend seafood rice(no.44 maybe)
This is like ul-myeon.(korean food)
Great Umami(감칠맛) and Good tasted!
Surprisingly you can have a good Chinese foods next to Chinese supermarket. Visited this places few times but this time alone. Ordered hofun. Very friendly staffs and it’s in Chinatown but not touristy. Last time I had dim sums and few other dishes all excellent 🙌
