I'm here right now and jeeeeesus everything here is lovely. Amazing staff and super personal atmosphere. One of the best places in London.

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in London so far. The decor is so cute, the food delicious, and the prices very reasonable. If you love Japanese food and culture, it's definitely worth a visit!

There’s only one top destination I go to for my matcha green tea fixes, in the heart of Exmouth Market lies the cute Café Necco has been running since 2011. I have revisited the place many times, and it’s has improved with offering more ready to made food. I love how I can stroll in and just sit down and order and cake and tea. The fridge displays an array of freshly baked pastries mainly made using the ingredient matcha green tea.
Now, it would not have been my first choice for Japanese but wanted something quick and easy and the place looked quirky so we'd try it out. The place is all pink and cream colours. The menu is covered in somekind of furry pink material… in instead of candles on the tables they have plastic
While the rest of the world were watching the football last night, Jide and I went to Necco, a newly opened Japanese restaurant on Exmouth Market.
When I heard that a Japanese cafe, Necco, has opened up in Exmouth Market, I couldn't wait to try it. I loved the cakes and pastries available in Tokyo and was eager to see if Necco could deliver the goods. Necco has a cutesy appeal, with its gaily colour

located at the heart of Clerkenwell, I was spoilt for choices for food several days a week the food stalls open along Exmouth Market. Well Cafe Necco was rather new when I went, I was so sad when Johin closed down to become a nail shop. My cravings for decent priced Japanese food left me eating out in restaurants nearby.
Cafe Necco is a cute looking modern cafe the design of their business card uses a pale yellow and purple pink. Necco means cat in Japanese.
My first visit wasn’t so great, most bento food was sold out, I brought Pork Cutlet Don. My first complaint was the rice, wasn’t sushi rice, and because it was left out for so long it didn’t taste that great.
My second complaint was during the half an hour I was there, “I DID NOT GET OFFERED THEIR MENU” I didn’t even know that you can order freshly cooked food. I watched as customers walked in and out the cafe thinking there was no food left.
My second visit, my friend told me they did green tea cakes and green tea latte, so I went here for cakes and tea. I was told that green tea latte was only served after 6pm. ¬,¬ (I personally think it should be served at all hours)
Sighs, so I got a Green tea tarte instead, I’m obsessed with anything green tea related. It’s not good that green tea is a natural addictive too.
Anyhow, I was very happy with the green tea tarte slowly eating the tarte in 15 mins.
In the heart of exmouth market, run by charming Japanese staff and filled with Japanese customers. A good sign to start off with.
A little kooky perhaps, the decor is a bit different and refreshing and there's definitely a very good vibe in there.
With lots of choice and a set of four rolls costing as little as £1.60, Necco is a highly inexpensive way to enjoy some great, simple Japanese dishes in the heart of London.
Everything from the food to the service is impeccable and it's a real find, just don't be put off by the slightly plastic-looking exterior!

A wonderful gem in Clerkenwell. Super tasty homemade Japanese comfort food at an affordable price. They have a great lunch menu! The staff is also really warm and friendly, and accommodating to allergies. Really recommend it, definitely a neighborhood favorite!
Fresh fish and happy hour cocktails!
This was a nice quick stop on our long walk for a bit of sashimi and drinks. They have happy hour on most of the cocktails. I would also recommend their house sake.
Sitting outside was nice as they have several tables (a bit close together) covered by a square umbrella.
The rest of the menu didn't seem particularly special, so I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here. If you're passing by, definitely worth a stop though.
This is one of my favourite spots in London. The food is yummy and affordable. You can tell everything is homemade. They also have a fantastic lunch deal that you can combine with a variety of appetisers if you need more fuel. The staff are friendly and attentive. 10/10 would recommend.
I have been looking for an authentic Japanese cafe in London since I moved here 7 years ago and this restaurant is exactly what I have been looking for. Agedashi dofu was very flavorful, and the gyudon was the way it should be served in Japan—paper-thin beef slices seasoned with the right balance of mirin and soy sauce. My dessert was a green tea sponge with strawberry jam and that was done the way it should be: good flavours of green tea and just the right amount of sweetness. Price was excellent. I will be back with more mouths so I can try the rest of the menu.
Great service. Lunch time deals of 2 Japanese tapas, rice and drink for less than £10 seems good value.
Small desserts also a good deal starting at £2.80.
Had a great time at cafe nécco, my waitress Keiko and waiter Scott were so friendly and the food was incredible- would definitely recommend the lunch set menu with chicken teriyaki! Will visit again soon! The music was incredible too
Probably one of the more authentic Japanese restaurants in London. You can get sake for two for a very reasonable price and it tasted absolutely divine, perfect way to start a meal. The eel maki rolls are really delicious and the Gyu don was very flavourful, with beef so tender that melts in your mouth. There is quite a bit of selection for desserts as well, my personal favourite is the pumpkin cheesecake! The staffs were very welcoming and attentive, I would definitely recommend this place if you want a taste of Japan!
Best place ever, one of the best lunch deals ever too. If you are around Clerkenwell, Necco is a place you must try
Necco Japanese Cafe Bar is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves cute, homely cafes with delicious food. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
The decor is a mix of traditional and modern Japanese elements, with cute and quirky touches throughout. The space is small but cozy, with plenty of seating options for individuals or small groups.
But what really sets Necco apart is the food. The menu offers a great selection of Japanese dishes, from savory to sweet. The portions are generous and filling, but not overwhelming. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty bowl of curry or a lighter dish like al a carte sushi, there's something for everyone.
And let's not forget about the drinks! The yuzu tea, in particular, is a standout. It's sweet and refreshing, with a unique citrus flavor that's sure to delight your taste buds.
Overall, I highly recommend Necco Japanese Cafe Bar. It's a wonderful spot for a casual meal, a quick snack, or just to hang out with friends. The cute vibes and homely atmosphere make it a charming destination, and the delicious food and drinks will keep you coming back for more.
Lovely place, excellent food and service which is made even better by the cat theme! 😻 Lots of choice for vegans and really good value 😋
