We are from Atlanta Ga, spending Christmas in London. Our whole family thought it was the best Indian Restaurant we’d ever been too. Friendly service and great food.
Sripur is great for a quick business lunch as I experienced during my visit. The place was bustling at 1:00 pm and we had to wait for a table for a few minutes. Mostly attracts professionals working around Tower Hill and Monument and caters to people short on time but on the lookout for good lunch fare.
I had the dal tadka and spicy garlic chicken with chapathis, and have to say that it was a very satisfactory meal! The dal was well flavoured and of the right consistency, the chicken had that 'Indian chinese' kick to it and the chapathis were soft and well made.
Wish we had the time to try dessert as well but were short of time, so had to rush out. But given it's in the area and offers good food, well, there's always the next time!

As the well-travelled and increasingly better-informed diners of London beseech the market for authenticity, it's interesting to see how the mid-market 'Indian' restaurant gets on. Where I come from, not a single Indian restaurant is run by a person who's ever been to India (the family behind the Taj Mahal are from Karachi, and the man who promises a Taste of India hails from Chittagong).
But in the City of London and in countless suburbs that sustain it, we have come to accept, embrace and repeatedly demand the decades-old dining experience of poppadoms, pickle, 660ml Kingfishers, curry, rice and naan. Often in surroundings redolent of a 1970s airport lounge.
The familiarity and interchangeability of the experience is partly what guarantees its enduring popularity. "Let's go for a curry" instantly connotes likeable sensations of mild intoxication, civil and frivolous conversation, and feeling very full with tasty meat and fat. And there's always that lovely moment when they give you a laminated menu of pre-frozen desserts served in a plastic penguin, which you would have declined even if you weren't too full, because it's a disturbing image.
Not having revived this experience for a while, a mate and I plotted to meet up after work on a weeknight and "have a curry". Sripur is near my office, Zomato informed me, so I led us over there via a pre-curry Doombar in the Cheshire Cheese.
And yes, in the age of Dishoom, food trucks and Michelin-starred curry chefs, the mid-market City curry house is alive and well.
I say mid-market because for two of us, with a poppadoms, a tandoori mixed grill each, sag, chana, roti and naan, plus two large Kingfishers each, the bill came to £60.
But it was great. Not spectacular, but the mixed grill was precisely what you want at that price point in those circumstances. The keema was substantial, the murgh tender. The naans were a little thin and crispy for my personal taste, but the sag and channa were both tasty accompaniments. And Kingfisher is Kingfisher - a sine qua non of a good (British) curry experience.
As for Sripur as a place - service is friendly enough, efficient, and uninvasive. It's mainly populated by a few men in suits. Not the loud obnoxious kind, but a smattering of slightly past-their-best grey-behind-the-ears chaps with loosened ties and the prospect of a £40 cab home in front of them.
Could have had another curry for that.
Excellent service and atmosphere. The food was delicious! We got the lamb bhuna and salmon makhani with naan and rice. Great flavour and portions!
I had the Tikka Masala, pilaf rice and plain naan and it was all amazing. The food came out quickly and I was able to have a great dinner before my tour.
The location is also perfect if you are doing some site seeing around the Tower of London area and need a break.
Yummy food, recommend the Lamb Bhuna with Peshwari, Chicken Achari with Special Rice Egg Peas
The waiter was adorable and helpful.
The place is somewhere between fine dining and a regular restaurant.
The service is kind of regular & friendly. The portions are as of a fine dining restrau but Tasty Indian Food. Ambience is wonderful and its walking distance from tower of london.

Food is great. I loved the peshwari naan and mushroom rice. If you like spicy, I strongly recommend the green chilli chicken masala (I loved it!).
Pricewise I'd say 25-30 GBP per person, which is not necessarily expensive as the food was good. Portions are medium sized. Restaurant is clean, including toilets (important for me, as the state of the toilet reflects the state of the kitchen)
Things to improve: service. The waiters were super efficient and very kind, but not necessarily friendly.
Overall: thank you for the experience! I'll definitely come back.
We have been regular users of Sripur for our take-aways and the odd sit-in. Never had an issue with food or staff, with the meat dishes extremely tasty and the right amount of spice. Always look forward when it's Take-Out night!
Our little family was visiting from Florida and we were in the mood for Indian food. We walked there because it was close to our hotel and it was great. Everyone in the family loved it.
Enjoyed a very tasty curry here, best jalfrezi I’ve had for a long time. If you want a decent curry without all the fuss, I recommend here.
If you're looking for a dining experience that will leave your taste buds singing with joy, look no further than Sripur restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat.
The ambiance was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and comfortable seating. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. But of course, the real star of the show was the food.
Every dish I tried was absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were so bold and vibrant, I couldn't help but smile with each bite. The ingredients were all incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, resulting in dishes that were both delicious and visually stunning.
One standout dish for me was the butter chicken. The meat was so tender and flavorful, and the sauce was perfectly spiced. And the garlic naan bread was simply to die for - soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of chewiness.
But it wasn't just the main dishes that impressed me. The appetizers were just as incredible, with unique flavor combinations that I had never tasted before. And the desserts... well, let's just say that I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I devoured the gulab jamun without a second thought.
Overall, I would highly recommend Sripur to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. The food, atmosphere, and service are all top-notch, and I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Great place to dine. Very relaxed. Dal Tarka and Chapathis were very good. The kids liked the Chicken Tikka. We also ordered the Veg Thali which was great.
