Reviews of Scootercaffe

I've visited this spot on December 2021. at 2:00 pm. It's really nice place, with quiet atmosphere, and staff seems friendly even with each other, which I noticed and liked. I ordered Americano but it wasn't really great for my taste, but I enjoyed it with my siblings. Generally, I liked being in this place because there was so much to look at and it was quiet.

Cute cafe by day/bar by night. We had delicious, warm and cheesy toasties on our visit in the morning, along with a well made flat white. Lots of personality in the cafe, and it’s located on an interesting street with more such shops/cafes. The only negative was that one of their fire alarms started going off erroneously and the blaring sounds lasted a good 15 minutes while the person managing the counter tried to find a way to disable the alarm.

My new favourite bar! Amazing cocktails, v good value, nice bartenders. Plus such a cool street with so many other options, will definitely be back for a toastie too! The spicy marg & espresso martini were 10/10 thank you! Would be a great option down the road from the young/old vic pre/post theatre too. Plus for the summer they have a lil garden out the back too.

What an awful experience. Went there on the recommendation of a friend to kick back on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We had teas and coffees and, would have had food, but one of the staff was so rude, for the whole time that we were there, to us to other people, that we just left. She clearly hates her job. Never a please or thank you the six times she leant over us to get in a cupboard, get a lamp, to turn on the lamp and to collect our cups, milk and teapots. The only sorry we got was 'sorry I keep leaning over you, it must be so annoying. We finally left when she picked up my mate's unfinished tea, and she didn't asked whether we'd finished with it. When I pointed this out to her, she said 'it had been there so long, I thought you were finished with it. Don't waste your time or money going there, there are 100s of other places in and around Waterloo, where your custom will be welcome.

Great coffee place in Waterloo. Amazing internal design. Very mix and match alternative. See pics. Had a soya latte and an apple pie. Great taste made on the day. Apparently turns into a bar at night. So perfect for a midday coffee after you stroll through Lower Marsh market, and right next too London's graffiti hub! Very relaxed and calm atmosphere with so much character.

Very disappointed by this place. Coffee was undrinkable, the cuppacino was mostly froth and service was atrocious. It said they roasted their own coffee.... I would suggest they go back and take a refresher course.<br/>Loved the look of the place, but considering the competion from other coffee places on Lower Marsh and the rating on here I was expecting so much better. Ended up leaving the coffee and going elsewhere, certainly won't be recommending this place and my local friends won't be heading back anytime soon

Established local cafe, with italian coffee, cakes, snacks and a licence. They host events as well. Quirky decor, great for those who love vintage scooters, lambretta and vespa, is open most days which is great in an area where especially sundays and bank holidays there is nothing but chains' coffee around. They have a small garden at the back and a resident cat, but they allow dogs as well.

This quirky little café was the location of choice for K and I when we decided to catch up with a friend who was also completing his elective in London. From the outside, it had the appearance of a Vespa workshop, while the interior was no less strange – a mismatched assortment of furniture, art and scooter memorabilia filled the space. The staff were very friendly and more than happy to let us chat away over some coffee and cake.

Lower Marsh Street really is cafe heaven – they jump at you from every corner and crevice of the street! It’s also quite nice that Scooter Caffe stays open until quite late compared to most cafes (true, it also acts as a bar so that could very well explain it). The rain, slowly trickling from the dark winter (is it officially winter?) night, made it an easy choice to run for shelter inside.

I once went out with a truly god-awful guy for a few weeks, and though the three times we went out (yep, it took three dates to figure this out) were far from ideal, the one great thing I did get out of it was being introduced to this place (thanks man!). The atmosphere is cozy enough for the homebody-types who might feel out of place at a more 'buzzy', trendy cafe, but quirky enough to please hipsters and simple Moleskine enthusiasts alike. They do an amazing hot chocolate here, with a thick, lava-like consistency that you find in traditional Italian hot chocolate. Much more like a dessert than a hot drink, and really warrants a visit on its own!

Apparently ScooterCaffe used to be a scooter workshop that served coffee. Now it serves coffee and the workshop has moved elsewhere, but there’s still the odd scooter around. It’s a rather eccentric place; very quirky. It’s as if the transition from workshop to cafe hasn’t quite been completed. The furniture is haphazard and old; the espresso machine retro, unlike the gleaming – rather macho – modern ones you usually see in independent coffee shops these days.

The phrase “hidden gem” tends to be overused and misused, but I really believe it applies to the Scooter Caffè. Tucked away in Lower Marsh Street, behind Waterloo station, this is a great find. From the outside especially it still looks like the Vesper Repair shop it used to be.  I just loved the quirky eclectic decor, old mismatched chairs, sewing machine tables, Vesper scooter permanently parked by the bar and the laid back bohemian atmosphere. There seemed to be only one member of staff on my visit and she was able to cope admirably with the steady flow of customers, as almost everyone was happily returned their empty glasses and plates to the bar prior to leaving.  The background music (1920′s salon music?) also added to the ambience. The clientel on my visit were a mixed bunch, students from the language school across the street, trendy hipster types and the odd local worker in the know. It’s a great venue to relax and people watch. This place definately has its regulars too, like

This place definitely has its regulars too, like the girl in the vintage dress struggling to control her two lovely little dogs as she ordered, the older women poet, expounding her philosophy to her camera man companion, and the Apple Mac users making the most of the free wi-fi (FYI the password is stuck on the bar).<br/><br/>There is also a larger yet still cosy bar in the basement, which is probably used more in the evenings, a small outdoor terrace at the back next to the railway arches, and a bench and table outside on Lower Marsh Street itself. This place reminded me of the kind of venue you used to be able to find in Greenwich Village, NYC in the days before it got too touristy.<br/><br/>The coffee served from the classic red Gaggia coffee machine is excellent, indeed the aroma of freshly ground coffee is the first thing that hits you as you walk in. There is also a small selection of cakes available, I had a lovely piece of Lemon Drizzle cake and if you want something more substantial you can even bring your own food to eat on the premises.

Scooter Cafè is located at the far end of Lower Marsh, Waterloo. Literally in the shadow of Waterloo Station, Lower Marsh is a gem that is often overlooked as hoards head towards the Southbank, all the better I say! A nice selection independent shops, cafès and bars and there is also the Lower Marsh food market, with a wide selection of lunchables. It's  easily one of my favourite cafès in London

The Scooter works is a quieter slice of London located on 132 Lower Marsh Street  in Waterloo. Walking into this little cafe is like stepping onto the set of Hoarders. It’s calm and relaxed atmosphere is almost a paradox to the bits and bobs of mismatched furniture lying around. But it somehow works, I’m sure its it’s all strategically placed to resemble that of an orderly chaos. The Cafe has a fully licensed bar serving drinks all day too, shall I have a cheeky shot of whisky in my coffee?   The Cafe has two floors and a garden patio  Americano £2.00, Red Velvet slice £2.50 I grabbed an armchair and pulled up to one of its wooden tables with an Americano and a slice of Red Velvet. The cafe also welcomes you to bring your own food

I went along to a great little place last night, and all you lot should really know about it. Hidden away at the Westminster end of Lower marsh is a tiny little café with a pretty novel idea. Packed to the hilt with scooter memorabilia, from a full blown scooter in the window to number plates all over the walls, it sells drinks. Yep, just drinks. From Monmouth coffee to all sorts of booze, you are welcomed to rock up, enjoy the internet and have a few drinks. The atmosphere is laid back and it kind of feels you're in your own living room. There are even the addition of a few cats running around. The clincher for me is that they welcome you to bring in your own food. It's a pretty novel concept in my eyes, and I like it. Bring food, drink their drinks, do work, enjoy with friends. Scooter Caffé is what you want it to be. I love the lax atmosphere and more importantly, free wifi.
