Came for lunch with my sister and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
We ordered a few dishes to share between us and they were all great!
Staff were friendly and attentive, and the meal wasn't too expensive for how much we ordered.

Fabulous, authentic and utterly delicious! Had the best lunch today at Vy Nam. We ordered and shared mango salad, summer rolls, chicken pancake, BBQ prawns and Basa fish rice paper pancakes. Everything was so fresh and so utterly tasty. Service was excellent too, relaxed friendly and helpful. 100% recommended this place and looking forward to visiting again already

Our go-to Vietnamese place in North London! We had some summer rolls for appetizer. My wife and I both had the pho with brisket and the 7yo and 3yo shared a rare beef pho. These all came with fresh sprouts, mint, basil and fresh chillies on the side. Our 10yo had stir friend egg noodles with beef. Service was great (prompt and clean).

Very recent discovery after friends recommended it. We hardly ever go to Finchley Central these days, so we didn't even know the restaurant existed until our friends told us about it.
Location is within 5 minutes' walk from Finchley Central Underground station. Parking facilities nearby are hotly-contested by residents and visitors, and can be awkward as Barnet Council has been cutting down on the available bays by sticking those awful wooden planters in them.
This is a simple, plain premises which can seat about 30 to 40 diners at a time. We went in the evening, and the place was economically-lit inside, which works quite well.
The only downside of the location is that Regents Park Road suffers from the evening activities of drivers who favour antisocially loud "pop/bang" exhausts, sadly another manifestation of this country's increasingly feral society. This is not the restaurant's fault, and they have to suffer it as much as their diners.
Vy Nam appears to be a family-run business. Service was attentive and very helpful.
We ordered quite simple noodle dishes plus prawn summer rolls. Not only were these all delicious, but they were served incredibly quickly (well inside 7 minutes) after ordering - I don't think we've ever been served as fast as that by any restaurant anywhere for a proper meal prepared and cooked from scratch, and that covered all of the noodle dishes including a spicy soup noodle (Bún Hué)
Our dinner for three including a pot of jasmine tea came to a shade under £38. Decent value. Apparently they have a takeaway delivery service as well, so it looks like we'll be having a go at that in the future.

I am very pleased I went here for dinner tonight. The food was full of flavour and the portions were very generous. Nice friendly people too. Just a great meal all around and I know I’ll be back soon. Haven’t had a Vietnamese this good since I was last in Hanoi 8 years ago. Even got a glass of wine on the house! 😎

Absolutely delicious. Couldn't decide where to eat on this hot summer day but it was cool inside, the staff were just lovely and the food was one of the best restaurant meals I've had in a long time! Big flavour, big portions. Will definitely be coming back.

Food is really good, service is friendly and efficient. It's pleasent to eat in, without being stuffy or pretentious. Staff will happily tell you about the food and drinks too.
Hygiene score took a dip so we kept away for a while. Is OK again now. In the interim the food seems to have become more authentic, which is good.

Casual authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Good quality of dishes at reasonable price. Every dish was tasty and authentic. But chicken in pho special was a bit dry, noodles were crumbled up in to one big ball so was hard to eat. Soup was heated to frequently so it was a bit too concentrated/Salty. This is only disappointment I had.

The price is high and the portion small. The price on the menu on the window display is deceptively lower than the actual price. They also tried to rip me off with a completely wrong bill. The food tasted good but this whole experience made me never want to go back.

Not as good as it was ...and tax scam going on. Food not as good as it used to be and a somewhat surly waiter didn't help. Bill came scribbled in Vietnamese and they refused to accept credit cards. On pointing out that we have paid by card before and we weren't informed of this before sitting down the waiter said their card machine had been broken for months and there was a cash only sign on the window. We scrambled together the cash and on leaving saw the sign...on an inner door covered by a chair. Clearly a tax scam going on.

Persuased by my mother that it was worth the journey from the West end to North London, I gave VyNam Cafe a try. My mum told me she loved the food so my sister and I met up for a catch up dinner. The menu doesn't do the food any justice. The menu sounded plain and slightly flavourless and not at all very nice. The actual food however was fantastic and fresh. Everything was fresh and crisp and each dish had it's own flavour. It was all incredibly tasty and delicious. Being new to the Vietnamese cusine, we weren't sure how to eat the Sizzling Hot Plate chicken and fish. The waiter kindly showed us how to roll the chicken into rice paper etc. The service was really good. They were kind and helpful. I would describe Vietnemese food inbetween Chinese and Japansese cuisine. It's refreshing, tasty and strangley comforting. Its relatively healthy but some of it is fried. I really enjoyed it. The actual restaurant is slightly cramped and always busy! I would love for it to become bigger! The decoration etc. Is minimal but the food is very nice! I enjoyed it- it depends if you like oriental cuisine.

The skin and the rice vermicelli were soft and moist and the flavours clean and fresh, if not on the bland side.
