All i can say is wow,the food was amazing!!!! Between the dead hippie burger and the mac 'n' cheese bites i was in heaven.the hobo beer was very nice aswell and went down a treat.
Possibly the best burger I have ever tasted... Dropped in just before 5... Service was amazing food was even better... My new favourite place to eat... I finally have a reason to look forward to working in london!!!
Real definition of comfort food. Their fried pickles are amazing. The fried mac-n-cheese bites are great and their burgers are how burgers supposed to be. Only thing, service needs to be better. Definitely recommended.
Meatliquor serves a nice range of burgers, and as the name implies, they specialise in meat. Having been here a few times I have had the chance to sample a few things on the menu. The Tower Block burger is definitely amongst the top 3 burgers I have ever had, and the Dead Hippie, Bacon Cheeseburger and Burgaloo follow close behind. As for sides, although a semi-grotesque concept, I would definitely recommend the 'Hot Mess' if you are at all interested in cheese and hash browns. The only downside would be the service which is patchy at best so make sure you don't arrive too hungry.
When you head into MEATLiquor, two things are bound to happen. You’ll have a food coma and you’ll have a great time doing so. My bro and I were already done with our *first* dinner and then walked over to Islington for our next fill. Then we stumbled upon MEATLiquor. It wasn’t too busy on this Sunday night, with a decent outdoor seating area with a funky ex-garage fit out for the inside tables. Service was a bit too cool for school but it was functional. We ordered the monkey fingers (£7.75), which were boneless chicken fingers in hot pepper sauce, and a side of the deep fried mac and cheese (£5.50). Regardless of what you order, you get a lot of it. I preferred the fried mac myself, the fingers were a tinge too sour. They did taste great the next day with a splash of honey. The rest of the menu is burger-heavy, so expect to be ingesting some gut-busting meals when you hit it up next.
Grease overload !! But with that.. an absolutely fantastic experience . A quirky place .. with an interesting ambience , very friendly staff .. lively people .. a fun photo booth.. which has space worth only one person .. but should be able to squeeze in four heads mounted on top of each other !
Food wise.. my American friend told me that this is one of the best American food places she has ever eaten at. We tried the xmasss garbage plate - loaded with fries .. roast turkey and cranberry and piggies wrapped In blanket .. but I'm keen to try their burgers at some point .
If you don’t or can’t be swayed then there’s nothing to see here – best be on your way. After recently visiting Black Axe Mangal (quickie review here) I was at a loss for a decent casual eats between Angel and Highbury Underground – and Meatliquor came to he rescue. Taking shape inside an old garage repair shop (ala Berber and Q’s Shuk Shuk in Mick’s Garage) just off Upper Street, you know that once you see the entrance you’re in for a rollicking good time.

What would happen if Saw and a slaughterhouse had a baby and that baby was a burger place? Meat Liquor! I've been meaning to go here for way too long and I am glad I finally got the chance.
Went there for Saturday lunch with some friends and I had a lovely time. I started with their banoffee milkshake and then had the garbage plate (burger patty, onions and chips with gravy on top). Both of them were delicious and very filling.
As for our waitress I have to describe her as sassy, full of energy and attitude but very welcoming and helpful. She definitely completed the experience of the place and I wish all waitresses were like that.
I definitely want to go back to try more of their menu, lots of burgers and deep fried things to choose from as well as yummy looking cocktails.
Proper burger, tasty fries and good lager. Nothing more to wish. Additionally the space has a great atmosphere. Service was excellent.
Awesome spot. Cool underground feel with edgy artwork and great alternative music. Food came out fast and was delicious. Very interesting menu. Friendly prompt service. Overall one of my favorite new spots in London. Worth a visit.
Everything was great. Amazing fries, deep fried pickles and great house beer. Hippie Burger wasn’t that good since buns are too chewy and sticky. Can’t give it less than 5 stars because everything else including service was brilliant!
Killer burgers, cool decor. The Dead Hippie was fab if you like a Big Mac, but want something of immeasurably better quality.
One of the OG London burger chains! The ambience is really cool in here, definitely a unique vibe, could not be for everyone but I love it. One of my personal favourite menu items are the fried pickles, they're so good. The onion rings are truly massive, everything is a very generous portion. The staff is always super friendly. They also have a bunch of veggie and vegan options available which is awesome! Both the chicken and the beef burgers are super delicious so if you're in the mood for a good, American style burger and sides, this is the place!
Meat liquor is always consistent whichever one you got to. Excellent food and quick service. Attentive and friendly staff. Tis particular ML was hidden behind the high street. Highly recommended.
Went here last night for the first time. Venue is cool. I had the bacon burger with fries which had so much flavour. Also loved the hippie sauce. The service was fantastic. Thank you to Yasmeen who was very happy to answer any questions we had. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.
Amazing. Not just American food but the portions to match! (So I might have order two persons worth of food and had a midnight munch😅)
Everything seasoned to perfection, delectable, fabulous service, warm atmosphere with the puny food names. The service is the perfect balance between attentive and giving space to enjoy your meal. First visit was so great that I came back for birthday lunch the next day.
Mainly a burger and fries place, with quite a few drink options, including cocktails, with Guyana rum!
Great tasting food and friendly staff.
Not really for "meat lovers" as they don't really do lots of steaks, but it's still worth a visit and a revisit
Really unique interior too. Look at the painting I took a photo of.
Highly recommend!
The service was friendly, the restaurant was clean (there even is outdoor seating!) and the food was absolutely delicious.
