Italian Tapas. Amazing flavours. Plenty of options and quaint location in East London. Definitely a hidden gem of Roman Road. Not a cheap eatery but not overpriced either! Would highly recommend.

We went to Bacaro for dinner on Saturday. We asked to be sat outside as it was a nice evening and they happily accommodated us. Starters were really good, we had the bread and olive oil, the calamari (especially good), the crispy parmesan with anchovies and cesar and the stuffed peppers. I liked the calamari, bread and parmesan the best. For mains, we had the tortellini with truffle and seafood stew. The tortellini were good, but a bit of a small portion for a large guy like me. The seafood was also good, but not massive either although bigger size that the tortellini. Overall very good experience, but I would definitely recommend having quite a few starters as the portion size of the mains is on the small side for my taste. Price wise, all very decently priced starters, (£4-8) a bit on the pricy side for the mains (£10-14) given the portion size and also wine by the glass a bit pricy too at c£8 a large (175ml) glass. Great design inside and very attentive and friendly service. A place to recommend on Roman Road. Will be back for sure.

Went for dinner and sat at the bar while they had a couple of very large parties. The service was great while they handled the rush across the restaurant. We ordered the seafood stew, hanger steak pasta and the squid ink pasta. Their was nothing they served that was not exceptional. Their sauces were truly great and we ordered bread to finish them up. Give it a try.

Our first visit but definitely not the last. A nice atmosphere and warm welcome was a good start. We went with the flow and asked for recommendations, resulting in some of the best Italian food I've eaten in a very long time. The crab-based pasta was simply outstanding - probably the best I've ever had. My partner had the cod - again, beautifully cooked. We were there with our two children (7 and 11) and were initially a bit surprised that the kids meal deal was £10 a head. But the quality was on another level from the usual £6.95 nuggets/sausages/fish fingers fare. Fantastic home cooked pasta and ice cream and sorbet so good I ordered one for myself. Absolutely worth the £3-4 premium. Overall I think this is a terrific new place and we will certainly be back. Thoroughly recommended!

Love this place! 2 for 1 cocktails is always going to be a good time. Small plates are great for sharing, especially for a sunny weekend lunch. Every dish I’ve tried has been delicious.

I visited Bacaro for a late Sunday dinner with friends, and we were extremely satisfied. This place has a good atmosphere with some good music playing in the background, with the friendly service staff delivering high standards. The food was absolutely amazing, I ordered the Pork Belly with a side of Broccoli and was absolutely blown away. The presentation of the main was fantastic, and the meat was cooked to perfection with me thoroughly enjoying the last piece of the pork. I will gladly return to try more dishes!

High quality local modern Italian restaurant. We visited en route to the cinema and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food, decor and great atmosphere. We called to reserve a table for two on the day and, as we were running late, telephoned ahead and it was no problem for the table to be held for till we arrived. When we arrived I was greeted by name and made to feel very welcome and offered a choice of two tables. Despite it being a Wednesday early evening there were a good number of tables occupied - not far from full - and the owner and staff were buzzing around making sure everyone was settled and happy (and well fed and watered). We shared a range of small plates which were all flavoursome and well prepared. The flavoursome mozzarella raviolo, a delicious dish of spinach with parmesan, and a warming stew of smoked sausage stewed with butter beans were highlights. Great atmosphere, friendly, attentive service and reasonably priced for the quality. Definitely recommended.

Excellent, super local restaurant! Highly recommend the Black Cod, the fried courgettes as an extra side were great. My partner opted for pasta with beef and truffle, he said it was great. I wish them all the best, nicely designed, comfortable and considered. Check it out!
