Went to bangers on Monday and it was very quiet as was all the city. The staff where excellent everything done by the book and the staff made the whole experience enjoyable so thank you bangers for a great lunch.

Good after work wine bar near Moorgate with nice selection of wine, beers and other alcoholic and soft drinks. Good bar food menu with sharing plates. Cosy basement bar very popular from early evening so get there early for a seat. Often drinks specials before 6 pm. Part of a chain I believe. Convenient place to meet colleagues or friends in the City. Recommended.

Another in the Davy’s Wine Merchants chain - tucked away next to the very busy Red Lion. Descend the steps to a large, well-appointed space. Although wine is its specialty, this particular bar/restaurant has a much better selection of craft beers and ales than the others in the chain - including their own Old Wallop, served in pewter tankards. The usual Davy’s sandwich offerings plus main courses - all reasonably priced for the area. Came here on a Friday lunchtime when all the pubs were packed and too boisterous - this place offered space, a more relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. A good find! PS. Despite being underground with no phone signal, the free WiFi is fast, with no annoying sign-in/registration.

This has been a primary place to hang out with colleagues from work after business hours in Moorgate area for 6 years. We first discovered its comfortable chairs and sofas by coincidence and we haven't stopped going there whenever we found a time to spend together. Go there and chill in its very cozy and under the street level saloon close to Liverpool Street. It also has tasty snacks and dinner options. The selection of beers is dominated by Meantime brews. They serve the Old Wallop in a medieval jar and it's one of the few places where you can find bottled Estrella Galicia. I can't think of any reason to drink other beer :)

Good: service, food n wine. Had Peroni and House white. Poor: limited lager type beers, no 3.5% alcohol types. Chairs badly worn, sofa seats sink to floor, had to put 2 cushions under butt, very bad for lower back

Amazing place. When i die, my wake will be here. Been a regular since early 2000s, but sadly an office move has reduced my visits. If you go, ask for Charlotte and her fantastic and unique customer service skills. GREAT food, and awesome for last minute client meetings.

I have been here several times during the past few years since 2005 for lunches, dinners, Christmas parties, etc. The food is always finely prepared and delicious. A very good selection of wines from France, Portugal, Spain and Chile amongst others. The staff are knowledgeable and discrete. The bar area is a bit more lively than the dining area and serves a wide range of ales and beers including Old Wallop. The place is below street level. Parking is on the street although with all the restrictions probably easier to use nearby Liverpool Street or Morgate stations.

This was a great experience, everything from the decor and cleanliness right the way through to the excellent service. The wine list a d menu were well laid out suited to a large variety of tastes. The price per head was very reasonable for a table of 4. I will certainly be returning with my clients, thank you.
