Kuku Riku

We were in the Camden market looking for a restaurant to sit down and eat. Came by this place which specialises in rotisserie chicken. Inside is actually quite spacious and it looks like they separate the place into bar and restaurant (presumably the slightly elevated section). We were seated in the bar area so we went up and ordered food and then had to pick up the food when it was ready. Think they people in the restaurant section had table service but I'm not sure. The food was decently portioned and tasty. The charcoal roasted chicken was quite nice and was quite moist. It came with salad and chips. I really like fried foods so the onion rings and boneless chicken wings went down well. They did have a selection of sauces as well as cutlery and plates by the pick up counter. It was a nice place to sit and enjoy lunch.

Warning: The Schnitzel is huge. It's also really tender, and covered in a crunchy breadcrumb served with lovely creamy mashed potatoes. Service is very friendly and they actually ask if you're enjoying your meal. I came here mid afternoon, and although it was quiet the service was efficient and food was prepared with great alacrity. Great!

It won't blow your mind (a really small menu to be honest :/) but if you are in the mood for chicken, you may give it a try. I personally liked the butternut squash, that comes with pesto sauce (it says "salsa verde" in the menu, but that's no "salsa verde" :)). So, as a summary, sad that there are only 4 or 6 main dishes, but it's not a bad place at all.
