I had a meaty breakfast. Good imagination tho this dish. Sausage was lovely, bacon and poached eggs just perfect with sourdough. They served with grilled sweet banana, which I had that at the end to sweeten my espresso. I'm impressed that they think of that to change a greasy traditional English breakfast and make it more interesting....
Visited Meet District for brunch the other day on recommendation from a friend and wasn't disappointed. I went for the full breakfast but there were a few other dishes I wanted to try, especially the Italian tartiflette. Nice ambience, good music choice and comfortable seating. Will be back soon to try out the burgers!
new to the area so trying to find good spots for brunch - these guys nailed it. two of us had the full meaty breakfast and it was exactly what i needed. lots of small tables inside so probably need to book in advance for groups 4+ but staff seem pretty on top of things in that respect -
would get a self closer on the door as quite breezy but food so good it didn’t really matter
Had a great brunch.. portions were excellent, host was great.. must try come back for a dinner sometime!
Was visiting London from the US and stumbled upon this place. My wife and I enjoyed it very well, great staff, great service, amazing ambiance and best yet great delicious food!
Lovely brunch here. Quick and great service (Jeniva was especially helpful!) Would highly recommend.
We've been a couple of times to Meet District and have enjoyed it very much. The food is great and reasonably priced. I had the beef brisket on the first occasion which was very tasty, though the portion was enormous so I couldn't quite finish it all myself. Second time around, I had the Eggs Florentine with a perfect runny yolk and good toast from the Blackbird Bakery next door - was impressed.
Service is not quite there yet - but I'm putting this down to teething problems as the staff haven't got into a routine. Forgetting to give you a menu, forgetting a drink, that kind of thing - sure it will improve as time goes on. Very friendly all the same.
The area around the station is seeing an increase of nice places to go for lunch/dinner and this is a welcome addition.
What makes Meet District so great, apart from the sheer quality of most of the dishes, is that atmosphere and the vibe. Food wise the fusion of many different cultures created flavours that just worked! .
I took my wife for our anniversary and we were made to feel special and there were some great personal touches that went beyond expectations.
The cocktail menu will has a tipple for everyone’s tastes and next time I go back I will try the rest.
Overall great dining experience and I will be back soon!
Amazing dining experience in a great location. I felt the restaurant offered something different from other steak joints with its varied menu and vibrant atmosphere.
The dessert options did not disappoint as it usually does in other establishments (I have a massive sweet tooth).
Could not recommend this place enough....
Ordered house burger / veggie salad / side salad. Couldn't order a dessert as kitchen was closed - wasn't told that and no one asked if desserts wanted before kitchen closed.
Food was fine and good on taste and appearance.
Ambience in there is odd.
The bar is overpowering vs dining space - as it has an open cooking line.
Cook line is good to see at the bar (which is pristine) - which has a few covers along it and a good depth so you really can dine at the bar - but that crushes the dining space badly. The main covers are mostly free standing tables and chairs - which make it feel very cheap, temporary and transient.
Single toilet at the end of dining space also makes things a bit unpleasant as the most covers are that end - so again transient space is the undercurrent.
On my visit the kitchen closed at 9 with potential diners coming in after 9 but before 930 asking for food but being turned away. 4 potential diners ? The chef was good in all fairness but he did seem to be keen to tidy and close up rather than risk being there after hours.
Also tables and chairs outside where packed away and brought inside by 915? Makes inside space awkward.
Overall it's got some potential - but it's got to be a fall back option until some care and attention is spent operationally to make it more of a place to visit + being available up actually serve.
I hope it improves the area needs places like this.
