Good service, tasty food, fries taste better then the chips... The Lean green was also tasty... highly recommend...

The Montcalm Royal London House has just opened on Finsbury Square. There are no shortage of established hotels in the area and with a sister property, M by Montcalm, just up the road by the Old Street roundabout, this is a firm assault on grabbing a big portion of cities destination travellers.
ETM group are their food and drink partner with a cocktail bar and restaurant on the ground floor. There is even a rumoured rooftop bar, which was not open when we visited to review. ETM group is a well-known player on the circuit with classy pubs and bars dotted around the place. In fact, just around the corner is The Botanist behind Liverpool Street Station, a busy bar and restaurant serving a thirsty and sociable city crowd.
So Burdock has made its home in this £15 million upgraded listed building. It fits in well bringing a contemporary feel to the environment. It’s a very well laid spot with the bar on the right and the restaurant on left.
The restaurant is quite informal with a menu of sharing dishes leaning towards the Med.
We had a selection of dishes that included an interesting Venison meatball dish with blue cheese and pickled garlic. The Yellow fin tuna tartare was fresh and tasty with the spiced crab with apple and cucumber was delicate on the tongue. The hearty portion of charred bavette was served medium rare the way I like it. To tick the carb box we had potato with grilled octopus and paprika. The icing on the cake for me was the curious mix of lobster on a bed of succulent pork belly – delish.
The food was excellent, especially as it was the first week of opening, so a key period of adjustment.
The service was quick and friendly with all hands on deck getting used to the flow of being open. Good cocktail selection and in particular, I loved the glassware.
Definitely the kind of place you can take a cheeky city break in and then opt to drink and eat without leaving this lavish hotel.
Fantastic！very clean, very quite, very big room, very big tv, a free mobile phone, elemis products and a very good view. They pay attention to every detail and provide very nice services. I love this hotel.
Went here with my team and we had a really great experience. The manager was extremely attentive, kind and helpful. Shuffleboard was fun, food was tasty, drink went down nicely. One of the shuffleboard tables is in a slightly weird/unsociable position but other than that it is great.
We booked for 15 people on a Saturday night and the whole experience was great. Easy booking, no minimum spend or charges if someone didn't show up. We had a big space reserved just for us and had a good time. Nice drinks if a bit pricey, tasty food (we took the veggie platter, a couple of pizzas and some burgers).
A cool, contemporary hotel bar serving interesting cocktails and craft beers. Lots of comfortable sofas and chairs. Has an eclectic collection of stuffed-bird lamps.

Incredibly kind, professional and available staff. Organised a company outing event there and the bar manager Raul was incredibly accommodating and made the night extra special. Would definitely recommend, especially for larger groups and social events.
Great cocktails and very friendly and attentive staff. Manageress was very efficient and chatty, recommended us few good places to go after. We had a superb evening at Burdock.
Had a super fun evening here. They have shuffleboard which is brilliant fun, especially if you have a good gang of friends with you. We ordered cocktails and food. It isn't cheap but the food was tasty and as expected (I had steak and chips). The staff are really friendly, especially the shuffleboard referee who is skilled in the art of encouragement and resolution of contested results!! :)
Came for my boyfriends bday drinks and stopped by the bar before making our way upstairs and you have the nicest, warmest and friendliest staff. Shout out to Rosella who went the extra mile ensuring we had a lovely evening.
