Best Matcha I have ever had, and I've had matcha all over London and Japan as well. Tsujiri London tastes just like the Kyoto shop in Japan which was a lovely surprise!
Really really like the shop! The Matcha soft serve is very authentic and high quality. Glad to have authentic Matcha experience in London. The only thing is: ready for the queue, it is a long queue because it is extremely popular!
Been to the Leicester Square branch countless times; I cannot get enough of their matcha ice creams. I personally prefer the stronger option, but it has been too bitter for some of my friends. This place is the only way to make a perfect summer’s day better!
For all the matcha lovers out there , you need to make a stop at this amazing place to fulfill all your matcha cravings .
One can always select matcha as an healthy option when craving for dessert.
Hey, its Tsujiri in London. I have had it one time before when it first opened in Melbourne. As a recap Tsujiri is a Japanese dessert chain with a 155 year history, now found all over the world including here in Soho, London. Matcha heavy in all the options, but they’re very good and with a price tag to match.
My cousin was in town and as well as having the same blood, we both share a sweet tooth. I like the dessert options at Tsujiri as they aren’t ever too big, not so sugary (at least in taste) and it’s something a bit more different. Back home home in New Zealand we don’t yet have much Japanese-styled desserts at all.
The store is tiny here in Soho, there’s only enough room for a few groups sitting down a time. On the upside, Tsujiri is one of the venues that aren’t going to charge you extra for the luxury of sitting in. We both went for the mix sundaes (£5.80) which are like smaller than McDonalds one. The soft serve is a much better variety though. We had the option to have the two flavours mixed in, so we did.
The Soho store has two flavours: houjicha and matcha. The former is another type of green tea, but more of a tan colour than the sharp matcha green. As a roasted tea, this is where you have the main difference in taste. After having both, they were equally fine but I’ll still stick my hand up for matcha every time.
I do find the sundaes at Tsujiri rather expensive, when the additions are minimal. That’s a piece of mochi, black sugar, red bean, and roasted soy bean powder. In a cone or cup it’s still £4.20 or £5.20 so it’s not cheap anyway.
I’m comparing to a gelato-type shop that makes their product by hand rather than by machine. At the end of the day it’s mainly powdered, processed mix without any heart or any charm. Also, I’ve don’t think I've come across an actually Instagram-able picture of Tsujiri.
After my first visit, I am absolutely hooked! I had the Shiratama Sundae which was a perfect blend of Matcha soft serve, layers of red bean paste and mochi-like balls stirred through. What a delightful find!
I had the matcha sundae and I had some doubts about the rice crispies in the sundae but it's a lovely touch as it's crispy and somewhat tasteless which goes nicely with the strong matcha flavour!!
Looking forward to tasting other things from this place.
Me and my friend love coming here every after our meal! Many choices of matcha ice cream here, ranging from some red beans and cornflakes in it to hojicha ice cream. A small place that can be quite crowded sometimes so prepare to queue. Love it!
I love Japanese parfaits and I'm glad I can finally have them in London! Great flavours (including a delectable matcha softserve) and a nice variety of hot and cold options. A wonderful pick-me-up after the theatre or dinner.
Tsujiri – the 155 year-old premium tea brand from Kyoto – has finally arrived in town bringing its unique tea experience to offer a contemporary twist to traditional Japanese tea. Think houjicha lattes and the most incredible matcha-based sundaes…
If you are a fan of Japanese flavours especially Matcha, this is the place not to be missed. They serve everything from hot, cold matcha, matcha ice cream and more. Superfood but in yummy forms... Love it.

My love for Matcha will never grow old and London has finally got a place dedicated to all things Matcha. Tsujiri the 155 year old premium tea brand hailed from Japan has opened its only European branch in the heart of Soho. What’s taken over from the former Kirazu restaurant at 47 Rupert Street. I happened to walk pass Rupert Street the day before Tsujiri officially opened and got over excited when I saw all the food menu posters of the stuff.
Ordered the Matcha Float (£8.40). A bit pricey but I really liked it.
I liked the subtle sweetness of the matcha soft serve. Also liked the small mochi balls and the red bean paste but what stuck with me was the matcha iced drink underneath - it was heaven. Not sweet at all and with pure matcha goodness. Loved it so much.
I absolutely love the matcha here.. The matcha ice cream with red bean is just amazing! As us Asians say "it's not too sweet" so you know it's a great tasting dessert.
I've also had their ice matcha latte and that is on point too. I couldn't really taste the difference in matcha until I tried this place! Definitely recommend if you like matcha.
tsujiri has a variety of high quality japanese desserts (matcha, lattes, frappes, soft serves, floats, etc.) with flavors such as matcha, yuzu, and sakura. located in chinatown and has limited upstairs seating. service was okay, not very friendly but efficient. it tasted great--i just wish it wasn't so expensive or i would have come back again! a sundae alone is 8 pounds which is more than $10usd for a relatively small portion, but i appreciated the quality of flavor and assortment of toppings.
// tsujiri sundae //
there are a lot of sundaes to choose from which vary in toppings. i got the tsujiri sundae which had matcha soft serve, warabi mochi, crispy brown rice, red bean, and a biscuit on top.
matcha soft serve: very good matcha flavor, i could tell it was high quality.
crispy brown rice: a nice addition that adds a crunch, has a roasted flavor which is a nice touch
red bean: at the bottom, adds sweetness and nuttiness
biscuit: didn't have much flavor, kind of like a soft waffle flavor
i was also eyeing the shiratama sundae because it had mochi and more red bean, but the tsujiri sundae seems to have more matcha soft serve. wish they had hojicha when i came because that's my all-time favorite!
I ordered Tsujiri Sundae, the matcha was too bitter for me, I prefer the hojicha ice cream. But the red bean paste on the bottom was so good
Probably one of the best matcha ice-creams I've ever had ! The taste was strong but still soft enough to make you love it ! They have a lot of different choices on their menu.
The price might be a bit too high for the quantity, the quality makes it worth it ☺️
💚 Tsujiri offers a wide range of different specialities around the taste of matcha and I was so happy to try their Bubble Sundae
🍦 The Matcha had a deep flavor and I love that the crispy cornflakes were kind of soggy after a while, the tapioca had a solid chewiness and overall I would recommend for every matcha fan out there! 🫶🏽✨
📍 Beware that they only have limited seating area and if you decide to go up there, the air is very stuffy and hot
Small seating space for large groups on the 2nd floor. However, I visit this place for their desserts. They're originally from Japan and have kept their quality and taste. I have not found another restaurant that can rival them. Kudos to Tsujiri!!!
This place is definitely the go to place for matcha lovers! Their ice cream dishes are super good and unique! The mochi is super rich but tasty. And the cheesecake and boba is a 9/10
Definitely my go to place for matcha-flavoured desserts! Great quality and reasonable servings. Friendly staff.
Very nice matcha and sesame pudding . Very nice and helpful staff especially the staff who is Thai . He was very helpful. Thank you for your great service . Highly recommend .
