Truly one of the best places I've ever eaten.
I work in Brixton and I can happily say that not only is the food always amazing! But very reasonably priced for the filling portion sizes, especially when compared to what you pay for smaller portions in other places.
Once we came during lunch when their oven was broken, but they were still happy to make us a cold dish meal, which, again, was so tasty.
I can't count how many times I've been here now, but I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal.
Thank you all for the wonderful service you provide those looking for a good meal.
I'm sure I'll be back soon :)
Carioca Brazilian restaurant totally gorgeous food. Just finished their Samba breakfast, best vegetarian option I have had in a long time. Great beef on offer too (have had before), so all catered for. Staff lovely too! Highly recommend.❤️
I was very happy with the portions at this place. You get your money worth. They have authentic brazilian food and also brazilian dishes with a twist. They house red wine is nice. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I did not really like their fries. Need to be more crispy for me.
A must visit for a brunch with an alternative Brazilian twist, this delightful little restaurant in Brixton's ever popular Market Row offers a nice break from the norm. Chorizo, egg, black beans, plantain and cornbread are just some of the options you'll find on their delicious and reasonably priced breakfast menu. Dinner here is also good, but expect big portions and lots of meat. The chorizo is incredible and the casava chips are a nice alternative to the usual potato fries.
So tasty and the service so great. Nice guys and authentic well cooked food. We had a really nice time here. I can recomend the fejoada. What's not to like ?
Adorei a comida. Estava tudo ótimo. Escolhi as opções vegetarianas, uma salada maravilhosa de entrada e uma feijoada que estava uma bomba. Para terminar o cheesscake de chocolate que estava bom, mas não fascinante. O atendimento e a refeição estavam ótimos.

brunch, brunch, bruuuunch, oh how i love the brunch. especially when the event of brunch involves some of my bestest babes and a suburb near and dear to me, well - who's going to say no to that! so when the opportunity to check out carioca in brixton last weekend arose, i quite literally jumped (out my seat) at the opportunity.
I wrote on Thursday about my delicious evening at dinner with Katy, Erica and Ashleigh. Well, I'm officially a very lucky girl because not twelve hours later I got to meet up with Erica and Katy again for brunch! I love brunch at the weekend. It plays to my foodie side (hello, options), as well as my lazy side (combining two meals into one!). I love brunch so much that a group of my Junior League friends and I have a bi-monthly brunch club.
Like most of the population I love a good brunch. On the one hand, I think it’s lovely at the weekend to wake up not hungover – the older I get the more I appreciate not having the pounding head, stuck-together mouth and vague sense of dread – the money spent, ridiculous things said, people offended, weekends gone – and the less fussed I am about missing huge drinking sessions.
Whilst I'm no expert in Brazilian cuisine, I had spent a month travelling around the country eating a fair amount of its food. I was invited to dine at Carioca restaurant a while ago now and wasn't particularly that impressed with their offerings. I found the food to be a bit lacking and the beef ribs and skewers very tough. The classic Feijoada was too watery and again lacked flavour. But, I've recently been hearing good things about the brunch offerings, in particular the 'Copacabana' - a maize muffin topped with pulled beef, poached egg, plantain and black bean stew, which has caught my eye. So maybe it's time to give it another try.....
Update 29 Jan 2016 - so, I finally went back to try this - pic added. And simply wow! Friend had the chorizo one, which was also very good. They def do brunch well and I'm upping the rating from 3 to 4 based on this.
An interesting option for brunch if you fancied something a little less than the norm (ie poached eggs galore), but also a decent enough place to try Brazilian food. The mains are pretty decent but what you really have to try are the cakes and afters.
Tucked in the middle of Market Row, Brixton Village, Carioca is an authentic Brazilian restaurant headed up by brothers Maurilio and Antonio, who serve up generous and delicious portions of their favourite dishes. From Monday through to Thursday Carioca offers a set menu of £12.95 for two courses. It also allows diners the ever-popular opportunity to BYOB all week long, although to not try at least one of the Caiprinhas to go with your Brazilian experience would be a mistake!
