Having travelled around the Caspian sea last year, I was intrigued to try the food here. Very pleased to say that it did not disappoint. Friendly and attentive staff made for a very pleasant evening. The menu is based around sharing plates which works very well. There are a few things on the menu I would love to return and try. We only tried two of the cocktails but these were interesting twists on common themes and eloquently served - definitely recommended. The interior is very well decorated and almost feels like an Uzbekistan palace. Will be returning soon.

Stopped by to Jan last night. We weren’t sure what to expect from observing the name & the decor. But a quick glance at the menu and we were intrigued by innovative modern sounding dishes. I must say the food did not disappoint, quite the contrary. A strong selection of Persian style tapas dishes (or small plates). The harissa hanger steak was so expertly cooked that if I had closed my eyes I could have been a table in too Michelin stared restaurant. The dishes were all fresh, delightful fragrant and expertly cooked. This is coming from a real foodie. Im gluten free and there were plenty of options for me and they clearly marked up a menu to aid us with our choices. The service was very good. It was friendly and attentive and they did try hard but felt there was overall a lack of consistency in the standard of experience and training. Though overall we felt well looked after and attended to. My only critique was the odd choice of music. Sounded like one of the waitresses had taken over the sound system with her own taste in music which felt a little incongruous for the overall ambience. The last word has to be about the decor. Charming. Both modern with a nod to Persian heritage, it was a pleasant feast for my eyes. As a design fan I was especially impressed by the lighting choices, they could have been very at home in one of the sort after (& overpriced) W1 restaurants :) Overall very happy with this accidental find. If I was in the Clapham area I would definitely go back to explore more of the menu.

Amazing place! The recipes are very original, food is perfectly cooked and the contrast in flavours makes you enjoy every bite. Moreover the staff is very friendly. Tip, get the seats by the kitchen and enjoy watching how they cook.

Lovely good from a cuisine not quite like anything I'd had before. Aubergine, pomegranate, sumac, lamb and fish - some delightful flavours. Don't be fooled by the structure of the menu - you'll need a sharing dish each on top of sharing starters.

Lovely decor, delicious food, could be more generous with the portion sizes for the price but good service and nice ambience. Great selection of gluten free dishes.

My mum and I were looking for somewhere to have lunch on Northcote Road and came across this beautiful little restaurant which opened two weeks ago. We sat outside and lunch was not only great value for money but delicious. Our waitress was lovely and made a fuss over my newborn son. If you’re looking for somewhere different than the usual coffee and cake stop of Northcote Road give Jan a try!
