My favourite hang out in London! It's comfy, cosy, and has great pastries!! The staff are second to none, as a regular they now remember me and know my order It's a wonderful community, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough!!

First time I had been to Husk. All the staff were polite and friendly, and all were very knowledgeable of their job. It's a great little place to relax and forget about the world for a while, whilst enjoying an americano and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. I will make time for a visit next time I'm down in London.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE!
'SHIFT' is your flavour of (every) Friday night lazy day chilling. From 6pm to 9pm, the café is turned into a more exciting atmosphere, with a pool table, ping pong, live sports and great music.

They also ditch the cuppa and swap it with freshly made waffles and ice cream! With smoothies from just £2.70, its a cheap and chiller evening spent at the coolest café in the neighbourhood!

If you're around on another day, it does serve like a normal café too! With uno cards to serve up as table numbers, its usually packed busy. With a creative space and events on offer, there's always something new going on.

One of my favourite spots to go and do work. They have a beautiful working space with different areas to sit in. Their avocado toast is amazing and Theo Moroccan mint is really refreshing!!

Great for hanging out and eat a delicious muffin! Nice soft music with great deco and vibe. Not a great offer for lunch and there is no brunch, though.

Situated just out of Limehouse station, Husk is a sorely needed addition to the dearth of quality cafés in Limehouse. Aside from the wide, expansive workspace style interior, and lovely coffees, what I really like about Husk is that they do a bit more than your run of the mill nice café. They’re a ‘creative space’, a gallery, yoga studio and classroom combined, teaching classes for poetry, coffee and conversational English.

Also their latté art game is on point!

Secret bonus tip – they’re got a sneaky roof terrace upstairs, which is really good in the summer to sit in and crisp up in the sunshine.

Amazing place to hang out! Drink coffee or hot chocolate ( I prefer Hot Chocolate) or anything else, the atmosphere and feel is superb. Nice gallery of books and weekly events make this place unique. This place defines London life perfectly!

Attention artsy hipsters—I have found your newest must-visit café. Why is this a favourite of mine? Shall we…

1 the space is large, vibrant, airy, lofty, mixing and matching all sorts of furniture, art pieces and simplicity
2 the gallery is artist-led & in partnership with Morphe Arts (graduates in the arts) – the room in which the gallery is has a large “church” organ made of wood (check their website for exhibition dates)
3 husk offers classes: poetry, English, & more
4 their coffee (Climpson & Sons) is wonderful
5 there is lots of seating—nice long communal tables close to power points to get some work done (WiFi)
6 make a donation and bring home a new book ;P
7 rooftop patio = enough said

Drinks
-Filter Coffee: lovely—smooth and grassy.
-Moroccan Mint Tea: it arrives in a majestic pot, along with a beautiful glass teacup. The tea is heavy, with bitter bursts of mint shining through.

Savouries
-Daal & Nan: the lentil soup is wonderfully thick and well spiced; the mushed lentils making for a filling meal. The nan is hearty, certainly not the flaky nan most are used to—filled with caraway seeds

Sweets
-Almond Croissant: it’s nice—flaky and sweet enough, but doesn’t have that extra bite some almond croissants provide.

FINAL VERDICT: I love it. And the best part—it’s not overly crowded. Now if only it were open Sundays…

Quirky little cafe in Limehouse.

Departure is a bohemian little thing that is primarily a coffee shop, but also serves as a second hand bookshop, language learning centre on certain days, a space for experimental artists, and poetry readings.

The decor reminds me a bit of my 6th form common room. Books line the walls, there is comfy seating, and an old upright piano.

The coffee is a bit hit and miss and the selection of food is veryyyy limited (only 4 hot dishes available) but change on a daily basis to keep things interesting. Despite the lack of selection, the food is actually very tasty. I think Departure is trying to go for the healthy organic profile so the food tends to be made from healthy ingredients and they offer vegetarian dishes.

There is also seating on the roof which is nice. People don't really seem to know about the existence of the roof terrace so it's often empty. A great place to take a book on a sunny day!
