I am a sucker for Asian soups with noodles so my expectations were super high. The one I got through take away hit the right spot, but needed a bit more spice and hotness. The the prawn noodle dish was enjoyable and with nice flavours.
Best chicken wings I've ever eaten, and I've had my fair share in my lifetime. In fact the whole menu is wonderful and the atmosphere and staff are always a pleasure. A great little spot, that I could easily eat at 6 times a week!
I have been hearing about Salvation in Noodles (aka SIN) ever since their owner Colin and I started exchanging Instagram messages and bonding over our obsession with soft serve ice creams. I finally got to try the new Salvation in Noodles in Finsbury Park and was very impressed! Their wings are the best I have ever tried and the food was very tasty and the place relaxed and cute. Best Vietnamese in London!
Surprised how much I enjoyed this place.
I love a bowl of noodle soup and this was good noodle soup.
That wasn't the best bit though, it was the starters that stood out for me. The massive rice cracker was delicious and the pork and mushroom spring rolls were simply Devine. Worth going back for alone. Washed down with a coconut juice and for a decent price this is a place I'll definitely head back to.
Skeptical of any new Vietnamese restaurant opening around the corner (because it seems like lately there's literally a new Vietnamese restaurant opening on every corner - and Salvation in Noodles is well, around the corner from us), we opted to try SIN because a) a friend recommended it to us and b) it was on the right bus route for the B&Q we needed to go to. Glamorous, we are.
The restaurant was thankfully not too busy on a Saturday afternoon, though I can imagine it'd be a struggle trying to find a seat on week nights if you haven't booked in advance. The interiors are all chic, minimalist and reclaimed furniture: exposed brick and filament light bulbs - you get the picture.
Husband ordered the beef pho and I chose the bun with pork patties. When they arrived, I expected to receive the dressing for my bun on the side but - oh my goodness, I am so glad they didn't. It was the first bun salad I've had in London (and I've been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in London) that had JUST the right amount of dressing. Not overpoweringly garlicky or too sweet. Just right. My pork patties tasted EXACTLY like they did on my visit to Hanoi's street stalls. Very authentic. Husband's pho broth was wonderfully fragrant and light.
We washed this down with a beer and the bill didn't hurt one bit. Thrilled to know that it's opening up in Finsbury Park too.
Head over to boost your hipster credentials and slurp delicious soup noodles.
Vietnamese noodles is not really for me. But the fried chicken was perfect! I'll have the noodle salad next time i go there. Cool staff too.

That is actually the name of the restaurant, not just me seeking salvation in noodles - although it's something I'm likely to do.
Good Vietnamese food is hard to come by in London, so when Angela asked if I was up for trying SIN, I was more than eager. The only slight downside (for me & my location) is that it's in Dalston, an area I'd never ventured into before, because it just feels that little bit too far away... but will travel for food, and all that. It's a bus ride away from a couple of tube stations, so it's not too bad (and if you live East, it's really not a trek at all, but I live on the other side of the city), but something to keep in mind.
Geographical logistics aside, I had a great evening of food and chatting with Angela, her boyfriend and his friend. It's a cosy little place which is clearly popular, with friendly staff and a no-fuss vibe that I think suits Vietnamese cuisine.
With four of us hungry and ready to dig in, we ordered a selection of sharing plates: summer rolls, spring rolls, lamp chops and chicken wings. Although everything was delicious, the meat stood out for me - the chicken wings were so moreish with that sweet and salty flavour everyone loves, and the lamp was excellent too. Perfect little plates to open up our appetite!
Thankfully our appetites were still going strong when the noodles arrived, because those bowls are massive. You know those bowls that seem never-ending, no matter how much you think you've eaten? I went for the Bun Rieu, which is Vietnamese crab noodle soup with pork belly & prawns, which comes with these crab meat balls that take the dish up a notch. It was incredibly fresh but pretty spicy, so I'd stay away from it if you're not a spice fan - I really enjoyed it myself. They also have other noodles, such as the classic Pho and also noodle salads, if you're not keen on soups.
I'm kind of hoping that they open a branch somewhere central at some point, although that would mean we'd probably have to fight for a table... in the meantime though, I'd definitely recommend it for those who want to quench their Vietnamese noodle craving and not be disappointed.
Up next on my Vietnamese food trail is Cafe East, which I've heard rave reviews of. If you have any other suggestions, let me know!

SIN has a rather small menu and is focusing on the regional noodle dishes that is still a pretty new territory in the London dining scene.

We pulled up a pew at the window and got ourselves some chicken wings to start and then I had hot noodles - the bun bo hue (spicy pho with pork belly and brisket
I’ve ordered from here a few times and it’s been amazing each time. Much better than anything else similar in the are. Sometimes I wish they’d offer more vegan options but the tofu pho is unreal and so are the simmer rolls. Would highly recommend this place. Worth adding - the food travels well, never had any spillages. :)
Really good food, menu and beers. Crate beers were good to accompany Vietnamese beer. Service really good. Apparently they take bookings on the day only between 5-6pm by phone. We didn't know this and had to wait 30mins on Saturday night. Worth it.
Weekend comfort - big bowl of Pho!
What better way on a Sunday than a big bowl of hot noodle soup, plenty of beef and fresh herbs. The weekend special comes with one selection of either a spring or summer roll with dipping sauce, for 9.99. Unbeatable.
Round 2: Tried the sticky chicken wings and tofu salad starters. Highly recommended!! see photos.
Went there earlier and it was quiet during weekend lunchtime. Quality and the speed of services were surprisingly good despite some negativity in previous review. Had a weekend lunch deal with a chicken spring rolls and this beef noodles salad. Both were Vietnamese classics and both were done very good. Spring rolls came out hot and fresh. Beef noodles were probably one of the good ones I have had in London
Food was delicious, great flavours. There is a lunch special on the weekend. I enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff might not be super attentive but they will come when you ask.
Well worth a visit. Will be back again

Fantastic lil place to grab some real tasty food. If you love good chicken wings you have to try theirs, please see my pic for the wings in all their glory
😎👌🏼
Chicken wings and dumplings are amazing. Soups are delicious but can be quite spicy and staff are relaxed and friendly. The Saigon beer is crisp and annoyingly I can't find it anywhere else locally. If you know a supplier let me know.
The best wings. I don't even really like chicken wings, and I still order them here every time.
Since covid, takeout/ delivery only. Hoping will reopen inside one day
Good food. Smaller portions than before. The curry was just ok. Chicken from salad it's the best in town
Deliveroo’s best kept secret. Super fresh Viet. Consistently fresh ingredients. Five stars for take away. The main detractor when visiting this venue is the sloppy, impersonal service. Also the chimes of the Deliveroo app become off-putting very quickly. Order online; don’t visit in person. The food really is quite good.
