Delicious fresh fish!. Went to Lure recently for dinner. Had the calamari starter, which was delicious. For main I had the bream. It was truly excellent. The lemongrass topping was such a complement to the fish. Triple cooked chips on the side and a glass of prosecco, couldn't ask for more! Quick and friendly service. Highly recommend.

Lure Fish Kitchen, Dartmouth Park – I knew instantly when I walked in to Lure Fish Kitchen, I already liked the place. The mellow baby blue against the red bricked walls had a calming and serenity effect. The recycled floorboards tunrned table tops with iron work stands looks simple and elegant. The lighting though bright, was not disturb the eye. Everything about the place was ace. The menu is very simple and straightforward, with the occasional specials on the board. A small choice of dishes but I still find it difficult to choose what to order and that was because I want them all, both mains and sides, both starters and main courses. Oh, and the kid’s menu too! The dishes were all a contender. Starters include fresh oysters (GBP 2.00 each), steamed mussels and soup. The sourdough bread is to be ordered separately. Mains included a choice of their fish burger a.k.a fish butty, salmon with miso or salmon with tandoori spices or gilt bream head in the price range of GBP 9.00 – GBP 12.00. Side dishes of triple cooked fries, fennel slaw, pickled wally and tartare sauce from GBP 0.50 – GBP 3.50. Dithering from one dish to another, I am already planning what to have in a future visit. But, practicality and common sense says that we have to try the food first. Do not forget they have specials here… special menu Unfortunately, desserts are limited to ice-creams only. With seafood for dinner, I could have stomached a more cakey, gooey and denser dessert. Anyway, it is good that I am not seduced by the desserts before my proper meal. The drinks menu sees a wider choice of white wine and cider than red wine – for obvious reasons in a fish restaurant but I personally am not particular to drinking white wine with fish dishes. fish butty GBP 9.00 – this dish is the star! What a pleasure to have real home made fish fingers, very tasty and served with plenty of rocket and fennel slaw, the dressing on the on the slaw is light enough to let the fennel stand out. steamed mussels wit

Lure Fish Kitchen, Kentish Town – I knew instantlywhen I walked in to Lure Fish Kitchen, I already liked the place. Service was friendly and good. But the waiters in uniform was a case of slightly overdress in this situation. It makes the place feel a little institutionalised.

Lure Fish Kitchen is a smart place. I would definitely go for a casual night out but with style. If you rely on London Transport the nearest station is Honor Oak overground. Then, depending on your pace, that would be another 7 – 8 minutes walk. I have to say that it is not very luring on a cold and rainy night. They did say it's Ed Miliband's local fish & chips shop. And, it's a very posh one.

Open from Wednesdays to Sundays from 12:00 hours to 22:00 hours. Takeaways are available. No reservations.

The food:

1. fish butty GBP 9.00 – this dish is the star! What a pleasure to have real home made fish fingers, very tasty and served with plenty of rocket and fennel slaw, the dressing on the on the slaw is light enough to let the fennel stand out.

2. steamed mussels with chilli, lemongrass GBP 7.50 – it fills my heart with joy to see a generous portion like this. However, the broth was way too salty. And sadly, I might have been unlucky because I had quite a few empty shells in my portion.

3. tender stem broccoli GBP 3.00 – Green , clean and crisp tasting of the broccoli. The combination of chilli, garlic and ginger was very refreshing.

4. skinny fries GBP 2.50

5. triple cooked chips GBP 3.50 – these were nice, but not as crispy and light as I had hoped.

The fish was well fried and crispy. The large portion of chips was indeed large, enough for 2.5 people, but my girlfriend was hungry so we ate it all between the two of us. Next time I would probably go for double fish, since the squid was lacking in spices. Would recommend fish and chip though!

Great decor and atmosphere. Service was excellent with all staff friendly and helpful. Food was very good especially the bream. Some said the salmon was a bit dry. Portion sizes for the sides were very generous, probably could have shared 1 portion of chips between two.

Lovely, warm and friendly place with a menu to get excited about. Very quick service, food was freshley cooked, full of flavours. The fish and chips dish was off the childs menu, which was a good portion, the irish salmon and sea bream was succulant, the sides where plentyful to share and those potatoes where the best we have had in a long time, we will definatly be returning.

Food good, at least what we ordered. Wine good restaurant standard, reasonable price. Service excellent. This is the friendliest eating place in London, of those we have visited.

A great little place. Super-fresh food; a wide range of fish and also wonderful vegetables done in creative ways. We really like the kale/caballero, and the minty peas. Very friendly too. Recommended.

Very good quality fish and chips. I would say it is just as good as if not better than the bull last. Worth every penny.

Excellently cooked cod and chips - light, crisp, non-oily batter, beautifully steamed fresh and flavoursome fish inside, crunchy chips and some very well prepared crushed peas. And all served in a very nice environment, too. The quality of the meal was the best F&C I have had for some considerable time. The basics done well. It isn’t cheap to eat in (especially now), but it makes for a lovely occasional treat with a decent selection of beers. It also seems that the takes away price is far cheaper so if you are pinched, go for that. The eat-in service quantities are however very large so, other than those of you with gargantuan appetites, you will easily be able take some chips and peas home for a midnight snack (they will gladly provide the packaging to do so). Thoroughly recommended.

My family enjoy coming here as the food always tastes great and fresh. The kids have a half a cod with peas and skinny fries for £8.90 each. Adult meals are over £10. They do automatically add a 12.5% service charge therefore I don't feel I need to leave extra tips. Really nice and friendly place and we enjoy going there quite often
