Can't recommend this venue highly enough. We had the most amazing B-Day party last night thanks to Gary and his team for all their effort. I love the place even just for a drink and the food there is an added bonus. Bravo! Gorgeous little bistro. My happy place and an amazing venue for special occasions too. We had a night well never forget! Xxx
We really enjoyed lunch yesterday. So nice to see so much choice for Ceoliacs requiring gluten free menu. Great food, great service and great ambience. Really recommend!
I have only just discovered what could be two of the top foodie establishments around Clapham: The Rookery (B) and Abeville Kitchen (A), both situated half way between Clapham Common and Clapham South. Although the design concepts may be different, the overall ideas are the same: changing seasonal menu around well sourced seasonal ingredients. Map Location Outside Rookery (outdoor seating) The Rookery's exposed brick walls are dimply lit by bare low hanging light bulbs and only slightly more accentuated by the candles on the tables. A spiral stair case connects two dining rooms with the upstairs décor struggling to decide between down-town New York and 18th Century London. The food is excellent and on this occasion the winner was the lamb for two cooked until pink served with beans and chorizo c£ 30. The staff are very attentive and know their menu however it seems on a busy Friday evening there was just not enough of them; slightly longer wait for the dessert menu and eventually the b
This lovely pub is a much quieter and better option to the vast Windmill over the road. Whilst not on the common side the benches out front overlook the pond and are a suntrap in summer. Inside is cosier with some tables tucked into a few nooks for a more private dining experience. The range of ales is good and the food is also particularly nice. The burger I had came in at around £10, but was much better than those slapped together elsewhere. Rosemary on the handcut chips was also a nice touch that lifts this pub slightly above others locally.
A fine Street side pub, the Rookery is a great addition to the Clapham pub scene. Simple but has all you need for a fine drink. Plenty on offer from the keg. Unfortunately, not one for the real ale drinker, no cask ales (as far as I can tell) The 'Lost' lager was good, clear, cold and crisp. Lovely staff at the bar, friendly, quick and efficient. A most enjoyable visit. Also, there is a spiral staircase here, always a winner 🏆
We went there for a roast. It was nice 7/10. And they still had roasts available at 7pm which was late. A bit light on the meat. Got an extra Yorkshire tho. The staff seemed like they had a big night and were a bit spacey but polite.
Best little pub/wine bar in south Clapham, the diverse locals are really friendly, so are the staff and the prices are very reasonable for London. Great for watching sport, outside TVs, I will definitely go back if I'm in the area again.
I really like this bar. The staff are friendly and the food is good. It's always quite busy which makes the atmosphere enjoyable. Good Sunday roast dinners.
My favourite place for Sunday roast, specially pork belly, its delicious. Portions are big at reasonable price. Small cozy place with nice staff
Good place to spend with friends for a drink. No food menu spotted
I went there for a shift, the staff was absolutely professional, and everyone there was really friendly.
Very friendly staff!
Great place to go for a drink after volleyball on Thursday
I would like it even more if they did food,
Enjoyed a great Saturday evening here with friends. The cocktails are tasty but come in very small glasses so you don't really realise how much you are drinking! The food was great, I would definitely recommend the pork belly. The service was attentive and the setting a nice balance between a bar and a restaurant. Would definitely go back.
