My wife took me there as a surprise. And, as a German, I whole-heartedly loved this place. Good beer, the food was just as in Germany (I had the Schweinemedallions on Spätzle with mushroom sauce, delicious) I wish I could take this place back to Bristol with me. They even had a good Schnaps!

After a recent trip to Vienna where I had the good fortune of trying the famous Figlmueller schnitzel I was keen to see what I could find in the UK. I’m a keen German Beer aficionado so was also keen to sample Stein’s own Dunkel. Neither the schnitzel (opting for chicken this time) or the Dunkel disappointed. Both were delicious and complemented each other brilliantly. I had a side order of freshly made Pretzl bread too with butter which was also sublime. The restaurant is in an excellent location, especially for the Royal Albert Hall, which suited me well Would definitely recommend. And I shall return :) Vielen Dank Stein’s für das leckere Essen

We came here for coffee and cake, and weren't disappointed. The Black Forest Gateaux was light, creamy and delicious, and the Sachertorte was dense and chocolaty. I had the mint tea, which was refreshing, and very minty - much better than some I have had elsewhere. Will definitely be back to try some of the main courses.

Let's start off by saying the food and the beer are incredible, cannot fault at all. The staff were very helpful and attentive and never too far away so we could always get a hold of someone when we needed something. The atmosphere though... it's a bit odd... Now I get it's Kensington so the restaurant is always going to have that going against it but when I think of a traditional Bavarian restaurant, I think of good German music, loud jovial patrons and staff and the clinking of beer glasses, instead this place offers a more clinical almost teetering on fine dining experience with loud generic modern music on what felt like a loop; an approach which was at such a juxtaposition to the waitress in lederhosen and the amazing food. Id recommend going but don't expect to get swept up in a Bavarian beer experience as this just isn't that.

Delicious beer with a wide range of selections that you cannot get in normal bars. Different to standard pubs, this place has a more sophisticated vibe and a more classic feel. I had a couple of steins beer there and I really liked the drinks. Food are enjoyable, quality and price are decent. Good selections for different taste. This is a place I will return again.

Whenever in the area I always visit this place for wonderfully tasty pint of draught Erdinger. Perfectly poured pint in an understated yet modern looking interior (in a Scandi style). 5 minutes walk from South Kensington underground station. Practically opposite Science Museum and short distance from Royal Albert Hall. Perfect to have a refreshment or a meal before the gig. All staff members helpful and displaying very good customer service skills. Highly recommended place

Surprisingly nice place. Great interior, great terrace at the back and also great food. Of course you need to go for the Wiener schnitzel and Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte. Never knew there were German cocktails and they are great. We were quite early (5:30 PM), but it filled up quickly and some people were disappointed so better reserve…

There's a lack of German, Austrian, and alpine food in London. I took the trip here because I had a good feeling I wouldn't be disappointed. The food was delicious. I tried a beer with banana juice for the first time and enjoyed it as a nice light drink before my main. The Bretzel was very fresh - hot, aromatic, tasty and the best texture. The Obatzda was perfect. The portion was massive so I assumed it was normally shared with two or more people, so I asked for another bretzel and the new waitress was happy to fetch me one. It would have been a shame to waste so much sauce. I've had chicken schnitzel in Germany but not Veal. It was perfect. I prefer dark beers, and so I had the private brewery dunkel, which was kind of a dark amber ale, similar in taste to Doom bar but more complex. Dessert was divine. Sachertorte. Been keen to try this Austrian dessert for a while. It was recommended by a German colleague
