Wednesday evening. Hump day. It's time to head on down to Camden Town and chill in the Brazilian vibe of Made in Brasil Boteco. One of Camden's latest openings, a sister to the Made in Brasil beach shack style Brazilian restaurant on Inverness St, this favela -style cachacaria is perfect for an authentic taste of Rio. Caipirinhas - classic and lychee. Mazzaropi and Floripa Martini The cocktail list is awesome. Brazil's national spirit Cachaca , is mixed with sugar and muddled with fresh lime over ice to make a classic Caipirinha. There are many version of this classic on offer, including lychee, passionfruit, and a chilli raspberry caipirinha. The cocktail list doesn't just restrict itself to caipirinhas, but many other delicious and refreshing beverages including a Floripa Martini, and the Mazzaropi, both Brazilian, as well as all your usual cocktails from around the world. Frango a passarinho, Camarao na morango, Beringela 'a parmegiana', Acarajé, Bolinho de arroz. The petiscos were amazing. Already a Spanish tapas fan, now I find that the Portuguese or Brazilian version is every bit as good. If not better. (I didn't say that - Tapas, I still love you.) From the traditional street food dishes such as bolinhos (dumplings) and coxinha (chicken pastries) to creamed pumpkin prawns (served in the pumpkin skin) and the genius pasta-less aubergine lasagna, a few seemingly small dishes were more than enough for two of us. The problem being, we need to go back to try the rest!

Stumbled across this gem on a Thursday night with my best friend. The waiters and waitresses are in Hawaiian shirts and the decor is all reminiscent of a beach shack as you first enter, with a DJ stand near the bar, and tiki knick-knacks transporting you from the Camden scene to that of tropical Brazil

The dining area is adorned with mirrors and art work and colourful lamps with the sounds of Latin music in the background, there was a warm and welcoming vibe, and we agreed this place would make for a great date as its quite unique.

We ordered four petiscos (Brazilian tapas), and two sides to share which gave us more than enough food between us that we struggled to finish - but it was all so good!

'Misto frito do mar' - this was battered/fried squid, prawns and octopus with a chilli-tropical dip. It comes with six calamari rings, two battered baby octopuses (which I was initially scared of, but tasted good), and three large prawns which were delicious! and the fruity dip went really well with the seafood. Loved this! We ate it all.

'Pastel de palmito' - these were four parcels of crispy savoury pastries filled with cream of palm hearts, olives and tomatoes... I don't like olives or tomatoes but this dish was an exception as the filling was somewhat like that of a spring roll, and the flavours and textures of this dish was really nice and well balanced. Good for sharing!

'Salada com queijo coalho' - a mixed leaf salad with grilled halloumi and pineapple cubes and brazil nuts. This salad was delicious, the sweetness from the pineapples and saltiness of the halloumi cheese in the salad gave it an added 'umph' and I'm all about halloumi cheese so I was pleased. The salad went especially well with the seafood from the 'misto frito do mar'.

'Abobrinha recheada' - this was a courgette stuffed with artichoke, mushrooms, brazil nut and parmesan sprinkle. This dish was very satisfying and I liked it even more when paired with some of the brown beans we ordered on the side.

'Feijão' - a 'no frills' bowl of spiced brown beans that was an indispensable part of our meal, I would especially recommend these with the crispy seafood platter.

'Banana de terra frita' - a plentiful bowl of fried plantain that gave the meal an added sweetness, and exotic taste.

To drink I ordered a passion fruit juice; despite there being an extensive cocktail list, my juice was a little sour, and improvement could be made by having a well executed 'mocktail' list which would've pushed me into giving this place a 5/5...

The waiting staff were very warm, engaged and attentive, and after our meal having no space for dessert (until next time...) we went up to the roof terrace for a little while, enjoying the music and overlooking the London busy streets, a little reminder that we weren't really in a tropical corner of the world but still very much between Camden and Chalk Farm. After a little dance courtesy of having the terrace to ourselves we were off.

Our bill came to a total of £42.64 - and we struggled to finish eating it all! We left very satisfied, and it didn't break the bank.

I would definitely recommend checking out this place, as it is quite unique and cosy, perfect setting for a date, the food was great, as were the staff, the atmosphere and the music... I'll be back.

Desserts. A must. Even for non-dessert fans. The passionfruit cheesecake is really, really, REALLY superb. A Brazilian créme caramel also made the cut, all food beautifully washed down with a bottle of Vinho Verde. The wine list isn't long, I have to say, but with a Carnival (geddit?) of more than palatable cocktails, you won't even notice.

Brazilian music, eclectic decor and most helpful friendly staff, next time you're in Camden, go and taste the Caipirinhas.

Dinner for two with wine (AND cocktails!) ~£75

Food was great except waiting time for food was quite slow. However the food made up for it. The muscles were excellent, nice and flavoursome. Their Brazilian brownie dessert served with ice cream, definitely hit the spot. Other than the waiting time, service was good and everything was great.

Great little place close to Camden high street. The food is excellent, the staff is extremely nice and helpful. They also have a good value tapas deal. I'd definitely go back.

My friends and I came to try the new venue as we enjoyed Made in Brasil so much the last time, and again we weren't disappointed. The drinks are AMAZING! There is so much to choose from. So we decided to go to try out the drinks during happy hour - it was on a Monday as it lasts all night long. The staff is amazing and the music even better. My favourite place in London!

I'm a big fan of Made in Brasil and I'm really glad they've opened this Boteco version with many tapas option and their amazing cocktails. They've a smoking area on the top floor and a barbecue. Staff is great like in the other main restaurant. I highly recommend this place. *****

Went here on the weekend of 27th with a group of 6. The bar was quite busy when we walked in, but no problem at all. The bar tenders were very helpful in helping us decide what to go for. My personal favourite was The Painkiller. After we sat down we were served by a lovely waitress, who was more than helpful in helping us choose with tapas bowls to decide on. Within 20 mins of ordering, the food was served and it was DELICIOUS. After half8 the live music started upstairs and the vibe changed all together. Perfect little bar/restaurant in Camden

Great venue, only recently discovered it. Genuine Brazilian and therefore very friendly staff. Food was very good and the caiprinha's were authentic and muito delicioso. Was not crowded for a late Thursday afternoon last week when I visited but look forward to a carnival atmosphere when I return at the weekend. Highly recommend for a taste of Rio in Camden.

We had a big summer party with more than 40 people organised at Made In Brazil. The employees and manager was very helpful and kind throughout the whole process; from planning to execution as well as afterwards. They helped with organising outside entertainment and accommodated all our many requirements. The food was good and cocktails delicious! Everyone had a blast. I can highly recommend the place!

Great place for good drinks and tapas. The service is good and the caipirinha Very tasteful. My only concern would be about the outdoor sitting area (upstairs). The ventilation is very poor considered that is a smoking area as well.
