Eggs can’t get more interesting... and great coffee We went for a brunch on a Saturday we booked online and sat on at the mezzanine. If you like eggs and sourdough then you surely will not be disappointed. We tried for they Smokey and vegetarian options which were both good. The prices are not cheap but you can’t to compare to and eggs and cress sandwich in the local grocery store. The place and ambiance were good, staff was friendly including the chef Fred. Surely will go back again.

Ordered “The Hot Stuff”, quite nice, but the sourdough stuff wasn’t really sourdough. Sunny, warm and along the canal, plus friendly staffs - no complaints!!

I went to this place by the canal a few weeks ago and I was surprised about the main breakfast food that they serve. I have never seen this kind of bread bowl and you can choose different ones: the bowl with full english breakfast + a lot of veggies or even one with Salmon. Food was is delicious and I will repeat again. Just with this breakfast you can skip lunch for the whole day. I recommend going early (10:00) as there can be long queues. Besides, it can feel a bit crowded sometimes. Overall a place to repeat when the weather is nice.

We went on a Sunday around 11.30am and boy was it a popular time. We had to wait at least 30 minutes for a table (expected) and then once ordered I think it was probably close to another 45 minutes for the food. They were so busy and perhaps they were understaffed that day. The food was delicious and very generous - would go back to try the other flavours (but I would definitely go a lot earlier or perhaps after peak lunch).

I thought this was going to be bad - I mean, who stuffs bread rolls full of anything and everything? The Hot Stuff actually really good, and my wife's salmon one (I don't know the name) seemed OK too. The place was very busy on a Sunday afternoon, and we queued for maybe 15min - but the staff were very friendly and efficient, and not pretentious hipsters, so it was OK. Only two things which I didn't personally like: small non-alcoholic drinks menu, and the seating - we were so close to the couple next to us that we couldn't think.

Really nice place situated by the canal. Came here for the breakfast in bread. Would recommend to book for 10am as otherwise they don’t take bookings and get very busy. Service was friendly and efficient. We had the Hot Stuff (Chorizo), Smoked Salmon and 2 coffees. Both were tasty. 4 stars as it was a little pricy relative to the portion.

Really nice cafe with some great staff. It's different to the usual breakfast places. The breakfast in bread items are great, coffees are good, prices reasonable.

Location is amazing busy place which is always a good sign. Came here sunday for lunch we was seated straight away. We was seated upstairs which was nice would have prefered down stairs but there wasn't any space. Best things to eat here are the bread bowl things hahaha have uploaded photos... best way to eat them is cut them bread and tare the rest with your hands. Our server was very attentive and polite.... definitely would recommend this place

The Barge House offers delicious breakfast/brunch/lunch options canal side. The sourdough bread option is a must try - yet to try anything quite like it. It gets quite busy quickly on the weekend so I’d recommend booking a table or turning up when it’s not so busy.

Pretty little spot to have a delicious breakfast/ brunch by the canal. We tried different versions of its famous "Breakfast in Bed" and we loved it - the pictures we took were quite impressive as well :) Nothing like the brunches we usually have. It's quite filling though so I would recommend just getting this and a coffee/ juice. I think a pre-booking is necessary because it gets really busy and, otherwise, you might need to queue for a while. Definitely worth a try!
