I live and work in Stoke Newington and come here often when I wish to have some proper, satisfying food. Their vegetarian breakfast is delicious with good portions for a very reasonable price as well as other meals. I've tried a bit of everything at different times of the day (including lunch and dinner) and it is always a pleasure to sit down, relax with good music around me and a "feelgood environment" every time I bring my computer and wish to catch up on some work for a few hours. I couldn't recommend it highly enough for families and anyone else that wishes to enjoy a break and appreciate what good food tastes like.
I found the experience at cafe z bar very pleasant. It had a great atmosphere and the food was by far the best in North East London. Also the staff were amazing and extremely helpful especially the barista because the coffee was also perfect.
I would definitely recommend this cafe to all my friends.
Been here quite a few times.Great breakfasts,loved set 3.Service can be a bit slow when they are busy but worth it.Apple crumble was okay even though after being recommended it I had higher expectations.Nice teas and fruit juices.Haven't tried the coffee. Menemen was great.The kinda place you will go to often.Nice atmosphere.Place in the back for toddlers and parents,equipped with a little section for toys but front of cafe very much for all age ranges.
The only place open early on a sunday morning 8am on kingsland road. I didn t choose this place but really glad i found it. Go there to read the papers, grab breakfast or read a book of which they have many lying around!
Simple healthy food for reasonable prices! Had the avo egg and chorizo. Many other things on the menu I'd like to come back and try! Friendly staff and service.
What a lovely place tucked away in Stoke Newington! Came here for a lovely brunch the service was prompt and hospitable. I opted for the scrambled eggs on sourdough bread with was divine, the eggs were light and fluffy cooked to a perfect texture which went down well. I also had the mix menemen which is scrambled eggs mixed with tomatoes, peppers,Turkish sausage and instead of feta I opted for the minced meat. This was simply divine!! Great prices, service and absolutely delicious food! Well worth a trip down if you live a while away
Greatest fry-ups in Stokey. This is one of the best breakfast places in Stoke Newington (together with Clicia). The fry ups are pretty much perfect and great value, coffee is good as well and fresh juices provide the perfect balance to the grease.
The slight distance from Church Street means that there are never too many prams / babies to ruin your breakfast (avoid the pram infested Blue Legume) and generally this is a nice place to hang out in, have breakfast and read your paper.
Do try the Turkish Toast and the Menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs with tomato and peppers) but stay well away from the Eggs Benedict... you have been warned.
I haven't had lunch/dinner here but I'd trust them to get this right as well.
Firm fav! I always go here. I always get a set 9 which is a Turkish breakfast. I love the fact that you can get a different type of breakfast here. They recently switched up the look and the menu and still maintained the quality. I've tried a majority of the menu too and you really can't go wrong. The mixed hot meze is to die for!
Lovely atmosphere and there are options for everyone here. Good vegan and vegetarian selections and something a bit different to the traditional ful English breakfast. Coffee is delicious too, we make sure to visit every time we are in the area.
Frankly, I come here a lot. Prices went up so it pushed a few away for a bit but all in all everyone keeps saying they love cafe Z. But today, today is about this pleasing coke glass I was served. Because its something so simple that many places forget how much of a difference it makes when your glass, your ice and your straw are ideal. So thank you man. The menemen, as always, great.
No issues with service (as others have noted previously): friendly, prompt and buttermilk pancakes were excellent. Would choose again.

This is one of my favourite brunch places in London. The menu is huge, which can often lead to disappointment, but here they get it right every time. The vegetarian breakfasts are great, and the Menem is truly amazing. Great coffee and friendly staff. Winner every time 🏅
Great Location in Stoke Newington, easy to access, parking might be difficult. Great food and amazing quality coffee. The service is always appreciated as the staff is professional and polite.

Super friendly staff, delicious and wholesome food, great vibe, eclectic yet unpretentious low-key music and an outside space from which to keep a beady eye on Stokey Newington police station - what's not to love?!
Will keep on returning and very grateful that an authentic and welcoming space like this exists amongst all the usual hipster hangs.
Lovely relaxed space. Went to catch up with friends and had a lovely veggie brunch. My friends had egg dishes and said they were tasty. Coffee is delicious and the staff were friendly too
Lovely menu, large variety and friendly staff. My only issue is that its often very crowded and the tables are so close to each other that gives you no privacy;or some times I have to share a large table with someone else. I know this happens often in London but because of the vibe in this place I'd rather visit during the week when you can sit by the window and read your book peacefully.
