Beautiful shop, the food is very good, homemade; very good quality of coffee served by cool barista, lovely teamwork! Nice to enjoy the terrace full of sun!

Really good for low-carb lunches. You can get a nice chunk of protein with a salad for £7. A great juice counter caters to your detox delusions.
It's quick, very tasty and friendly. Good for business lunches, too, as the hum makes conversations not carry too far.
There's three doors into the place so it can get drafty during cold weather.
I recently tried this place for a morning meal and had a great time here. The food was excellent, especially the chicken and bacon sandwich which was cooked to perfection. On top of this, the food is quite reasonable as well. The service is pretty quick and efficient and thus, I would love to visit this place again and would recommend to others as well.

The cool drizzle outside and the warm heavenly smells from within No. 42 worked together to pull me into this lovely corner cafe on a lazy afternoon. The lighting is soft and cosy, lit by spherical lamps suspended throughout the restaurant like bright full moons on an early evening. The soft light and the relaxed atmosphere are enough to make you feel right at home.
The area is filled with multiple bar seats overlooking the street and outdoor seating, lots of tables, and comfy chairs. The music is at a perfect volume for getting some work done, meeting with a client, or just chatting with friends; it's a pretty nice mix of music at that!
I enjoyed their ginger, mint, and honey lemonade! It was wonderfully tart, the honey kicking in at the end to soften out the sour notes. I would have liked a bit more ginger, but, overall, it was a delicious treat! I feel like it will also help ward off the impending doom of autumn and winter colds! I have to say, the smell of the various sandwiches and hot meals was amazing! Next time I will be stopping by for lunch!
Just popped inside out of the rain for a coffee, but will certainly keep it in mind for when I am next in the area. There was plenty of comfy seating and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. My latte was perfectly thick and foamy.
The food also looked great and I will be sure to return for a bite in the summer so I can sit outside.

Have not tried the food yet but have popped in for coffee a few times. Very friendly and efficient service - plus a good coffee, much better than Pret down the street - honestly never going to go back there again, would rather sit here in a relaxed setting under the sun.

Excellent selection of eating and drinking options and tasty, too - at least what we chose (salads, salmon, coffee). Good price and very friendly and attentive staff. It also has space, so one doesn't feel squashed in. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable lunch 👍🙏🙏
A very large coffee shop/diner, that has large windows which allows lots to light to flood in. A good place to work in but I didn’t see any plugs. Staff reasonably friendly and advice was fast. I’d certain go back and the sculptures outside are fairly interesting.
Espresso wasn't strong enough for my personal taste, but it was good. Nice people, and tables and cool cement pillow sculptiral benches in the sunshine for outdoor seating.
Great place to work from as they have plenty of seating and fast WiFi. Seems to be a popular place for meetings in the morning as the locals are spread out over the larger tables with their notebooks and pens out. Coffee is ok and there’s a great selection of pastries and breakfast choices. There’s also a few power points around and the bench seats are quite comfortable to work from if you want to people watch passers by. #BeatTheGrind
Pleasant airy off the beaten track coffee house and sandwich bar. Good range of sandwiches and the coffee was good. Worth the trip.
A quiet salad oasis in the heart of Old Street. This is my all time favourite place for lunch. The salads are so fresh and reasonably priced and always served with a smile 😊
Good lunch spot in the Old St area. A counter selection of quiches, tarts, escalopes or vegan stuffed pepper with 4 choices of salad. Also where scenes from the bodyguard were filmed!
