The restaurant has a wide selection on the menu and portions are large. Prices are very reasonable compared to other restaurants around this area. Location is great with jusy 1 minute walk from Southwark tube station.Food quality is above average.

For me this is the definition of your average Chinese food. And I'm saying this as someone who really enjoys Chinese food. This is a small eatery that serves authentic Chinese but just like every cuisines here are different levels. For me this is the pub food of Chinese shops, far from high end cuisine but still full of flavour.
The dishes are served in plain plates and there is no decoration or any attention to presentation. My friend asked why the menu photos looked bad and after we got our food we realised that they looked exactly like what you get; well cooked tasty food that looks like it was cooked and plated by your mom, not a chef.
I did enjoy my lunch though and I'd happily eat there again but when you visit keep in mind that you are going to a neighbourhood eatery not a high end restaurant.
I'm Chinese and had my doubts about this place, but finally decided to try it after my flatmates' raves about it got to me. I got some soup dumplings, which were too thick-skinned and rather tasteless, but the broth and the price made up for it. Generous quantities, not so much quality - but that's what you'd expect from the looks of it anyway. It's owned by Chinese people but features all sorts if pan-Asian dishes, some of them not really Asian at all. Can't say much for the authenticity but I guess it could be much worse.
Culture doesn’t look like much from the outside, or indeed the inside: with tacky looking decor, cheap tables, and a plain tiled floor and walls. But really, you forget all about that once you’ve devoured the food.
A great Chinese restaurant quite close to Waterloo tube station.
I went there once and I absolutely loved it. Me and my friend spent less than £20 for our dishes which was amazing. I had a chicken and sweetcorn soup which was one of the best soups I had.
The staff is quite pleasant but the restaurant is really small and you may have to wait for a bit for a table. This is the only downside of the restaurant.
Other than that, I recommend it for first makers!
I had schezwan style spicy chicken with fried rice base. It was very good in flavour and aroma. The servings are huge and service is good.
We went in a group of 3 and ordered different dishes and none of us had any complaints.
This was my first time trying chopsticks and I passed with flying colors☺.
Our long term favorite Friday post football eatery for tasty Food and Cold beers. Good selection and friendly on the wallet!
Always accommodating, even when we turn up on late notice, as part of a large group.
This is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Heavens it’s unreal ! Best best best. Service is excellent and food well as you can tell my best yet.
Got the mapo tofu with pork and it was quite tasty! There are several other Szechuan meals on their menu that I'd like to try. Service was great and the food came out quickly.
The food is amazing, staff are friendly, and I managed to eat when the staff team were trying some new dishes. To my surprise they made some Hong Kong style 'Pineapple buns' (Bo Lor Bao) which was really good. Hope it gets on the menu!
Would recommend a visit for the current menu, or if the timing is right, what new dishes that get on the menu.
Food was great.
However, it was uncomfortable for them to ask me to pay £1 since they do not service charges included on the bill. I always want to tip on my own without being asked.
Note that it's closed after lunch and reopened again.
Nice friendly place with cheap Asian food. They have a mix of Asian dishes to choose from. They prefer cash payments
Top notch restaurant! The food is really good and traditional. The staff is extremely friendly and proffessional. Selection of dishes is amazing. I highly recommend and by the way the prices are very reasonable, to say the least. Give it and try!
Big portion with small money
Culture Grub is just few mins walk from Waterloo station. I usually go there for lunch before or after meeting because the service is quick and the price is good with huge serving. I was there again for lunch with my colleague before a meeting last week.

WHAT WE GOT
🍗Tokyo Style Fried Chicken
🥟Pork Dumplings
🍲Hot & Sour Soup
🍜Laksa
🥬Stir Fried Mixed Veg
Hot & Sour Soup was my fav and I ordered it almost every time. It was loaded with wooden ear, egg drops and meat. I loved the thickness and the hot, spicy & sour flavour were just right. Love it 😍😍😍
Laksa came with lots of ingredients including king prawn, fish cake and vegetables. The broth was flavourful and tasty. Tasty😋😋😋
Tokyo Style Fried Chicken is new on the menu. Chicken thigh was lightly coated and deep fried. Crispy outside and juicy inside. Also, the chicken meat was well seasoned with ginger and soy sauce. Love it😍😍😍
Pork dumpling was so juicy and tasty (Swap to the end to see how the soup leaking out🤤). The filling was flavourful and moist. It’s defo a soupy dumpling. Awesome 😋😋😋
I have been Culture Grub for several times before. The portion is always big and the taste of every dish was consistently good. The staffs are cheerful and attentive. It’s a really good Chinese restaurant in Waterloo.
Nice little restaurant. I was surprised that you had to wait partly for a table and outside even a small queue has, formed. The service was fast and friendly, and the food did not take long. The range of dishes was quite sufficient, and there were enough offers for vegetarians and vegans. The food tasted good, but my menu has not totally blown me away now. Overall, however, the price-performance ratio was entirely in order.
Group of 5 sat in for dinner. 2 courses for £25 a head. Really lovely and freshly made. Wish I'd found this before and highly recommended. High compliments from my group.
Food ranged from crispy duck to seaweed.
I'll happily go back.
