Was an amazing place decent priced food pleasant helpful staff and amazing as in , a trip upstairs opens up a different place altogether blew me away
A great place for a few drinks or food. Live jazz on a Sunday is great. A good selection of drinks on tap
Okay London. It’s official. You’ve defeated me. My recent sobriety has meant I’ve saved loads of money over the last few weeks - turns out when you’re not drinking a bazillion gin and tonics every weekend you have plenty of money for other things, like food, bills and rent. Amazing.

So feeling proud of myself and with a few quid burning a hole in my pocket I popped along to the Bull and Gate to catch up on a bit of work and have a £1.30 lime and soda while I waited for London Curry Blog to finish work and turn up. He wasn't in the mood for drinking either so I went to the bar to get him a half of coke, which ended up costing... wait for it... TWO POUNDS FIFTY. £2.50. For a HALF of COKE.
Sorry London, but this is just too much. I'm done. By that logic, a pint of coke is £5. Looking at the menu, that's the same price as a pint of ale, larger and about 70p more than a pint of fosters.
IT MAKES NO SENSE.
I absolutely loved it and I’ll be back for sure! I brought my parents visiting from Italy to have a Sunday Roast. The place is very cool and I loved the decor. A Croatian guy looked after us and had a great customer service. The food served was really good, one Sunday roast with a great half chicken and the two vegetarian options. To be honest it’s rare to find so many positive things altogether in a pub in London..!
Came upon this beautiful place whilst waiting for my daughter who was attending a concert at O2 Forum Kentish Town. From the front you see a pub but out the back is a beautiful restaurant area also. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They allowed me to sit and wait for my daughter for several hours. I had the charcuterie board to myself (I was very hungry!) and sticky toffee pudding. Both delicious and good portions. Highly recommend this little gem, perfect if you are heading to the O2 Forum.
Chanced upon this pub for dinner as we needed a place to eat before attending a concert at the O2 next door. Easy to say this is the best fish and chips I’ve had in London! We also ordered the sausages and mash which were infused with ale and the Mac and cheese! All were absolutely yummy but we still loved the beer battered cod best! The interior was rustic and eclectic too, loved it!
The Bull & Gate is a brilliant pub courtesy of Youngs. Great beer, a fine menu and wonderful service from all the staff. Everyone was busy preparing for a wedding reception on my visit but nothing was overlooked for casual customers such as myself. Service was second to none but still casual and friendly in spite of the stress for all. Great visit, a credit to all involved. The building itself is gorgeous Victoriana, high ceilings, iron columns and all the rest. There is a sumptuous upstairs filled with Chesterfield's and the like. Great place to visit.
Lovely Victorian grade II listed Young's pub. Enjoyed our visit here for what turned out to be a few drinks, which was only meant to be one. Interior looks great, and it had the nicest wash basins I think I've ever seen. The dining room upstairs is quality, too.
We would definitely return.
Went here for a delicious Sunday roast. Great for families as they also have a kids menu and crayons. Very nice service and great pub atmosphere
Really nice place. Vegan options , also for the Sunday roast. Very friendly staff.
We had our wedding at The Bull & Gate earlier this month and it was a perfect venue! The dining room was gorgeous for both the ceremony and the reception, and it was so great not to have to worry about ferrying guests from one venue to another! The staff were amazing, both on the day and in helping with the planning process - big shout out to the amazing Sophie! The food was delicious! And best of all they are super dog friendly, allowing our dachshund to be ring bearer and all his sausage friends to join us for the party later!
I was booking for a large group which is usually a bit more complicated to manage, but the team at the Bull & Gate were amazing & sorted it out so easily. They had all kinds of different options from hiring out the separate bars, to just reserving us a big space in the main pub so I could pick the right option for my group. Lots of the group hadn’t been here before & they all loved the food & the chilled atmosphere. Lovely staff, really good food, amazing old building… couldn’t ask for more really :)

I photographed Freya & Luke's wedding at The Bull & Gate last summer. The sandy colours looked great and the skylight in the ceiling made for stunning photos all day. The staff were very helpful and went the extra mile to make the day special. This venue really is a hidden gem.
