Cant go wrong with their 2-course lunch menu. Very welcoming. Decor a warm eclectic mix of Thai carvings and memorabilia from the 60’s and more, with a Thai tuk tuk by the front door. Bigger than it looks. Great place for parties. Highly recommended by all my group if 6 people.
Impressive food and friendly staff.. I recommend it
food 10 service 6 but food 10 place 25 its that good . over all the best in town. tuk tuk in the front wood tables and chairs made from teak all food cooked fresh to order .21 years full all the time need to book 02072825557
Nice Thai place with tasty food, nice design of interior. Must visit place in local area
Purr...fect :). Probably favourite restaurant in London. The food is always lovely especially the Tom Ka Hed. The service is generally quick and there's never any hassle.
The restaurant is pretty quirky and interesting and always give us something to look at and talk about. The furniture, all made of wood, gives the restaurant a homely and unique feel and quality.
We discovered this place when we lived in the area and continue to come back to it regularly.
Lovely local Thai. We've been a regular of Cats for years - it's great-value, reliable and very friendly. The decor is ecclectic verging on the bizarre - complete with a tuk tuk and huge pictures of the Thai royal family - but don't let this put you off. I'd recommend the amber vegetable curry with coconut or sticky rice. For under £10/head with a soft drink you can't really go wrong can you?
Gorgeous thai food in a ecclectic restaurant. Tempura and corn cakes to start, maybe not the healthiest option but probably the most deliscious, a treat for vegetarians. Followed by duck curry, Not to heavy as you might expect, light, well presented and lots of it, plenty for a growing boy! Only real criticism was the price, as it doesn't really fit the location.
Jen Smith. Amazing place! Decor will keep you occupied for most of the meal, if you aren't distracted by the amazing food, and great cocktails. Service is quick, and do try to bag the table by the fire!

Cats is a minor institution in Finsbury Park. Replete with its own (stationary) tuktuk, ergonomically bewildering carved wooden furniture, and a bust of John Lennon smoking a joint, it's an eccentric place where interior design meets ADHD.
The food, you may be disappointed to read, is a steadier affair. But for the price, it's solid stuff not to be sniffed at. Their tom yum and tom kha are as good as you could hope for; the jade, ruby, amber and jungle curries also fly off the kitchen counter to a fine standard. A favourite of mine, not always easy to source in your standard Thai restaurant, is the minced pork with chilli and basil (pad ka paow moo) which comes with a fried egg for you to mix in. They nail it.
All these dishes are in the £6-10 range, and the stock sides are fairly priced too. So for all the kitsch, at heart Cats is actually a very capable Thai for people on a bit of a budget.
Two words of warning about the wine list: it's rubbish. But why are you drinking wine when there's Singha beer to knock back?
Cautionary mention should go to the deals they do in the day too - prices are even better for two courses before 5pm, but the set menu is as vanilla as you could conceive. It's barely Thai in fact.
Overall, I'm left with the niggling wish that Cats had a bit more faith in themselves to be a distinctive Thai outlet, to take that bold visual self-expression which characterises their premises into what they put on to their plates. But that's a tad churlish - this is my go-to Thai in Finsbury Park and I'll be deadlegging myself in their wooden chairs for some time to come.
Great location, close to Finsbury Park.
Authentic decor with wooden table and chairs and lots of Thai decorations.
Service was wonderful. We had someone with a food allergy and the staff were extremely attentive with this.
We shared a mixed starter, then I had the beef randang and king prawn Pad Thai noodles, we also ordered Veggie Green curry with coconut rice and fried fish with chilli too. All dishes were tasty and full of flavour.
Overall it was a very enjoyable meal.
Toilets were at the far back of the restaurant, disabled access too.
Would definitely visit again.
Great little place for lunch or dinner run by Thai people who clearly know how to do proper dishes from this part of the world. Friendly staff, interesting decoration, and good value for money. Only let down was calamari- really chewy.
Will be back when around.
Very best Thai food in London! Having been there after 4 years still finding it as good as it used to be. Fabulous fish cakes, stir fried seafood, volcano chicken and other curry's. Plus fresh lyche juice with fried banana desert. A savory dining experience. Apart from food, Service is slow now a days due to labor shortage and the atmosphere is quite old school. But, the food trumps it all!

Fascinating authentic Thai decor and furniture with quite a large range of meals to suit sweet to hot pallettes. Definitely a warm and friendly welcome. If you want a reguladine out yo make your own - this is it.
I'm writing this with a belly still full of yummy Thai.
I LOVED IT! Tonight was my first visit to Cats Cafe des Artistes Thai Restaurant, and I can say with confidence, it won't be my last. Delicious dishes, friendly, engaging service, and a great, warm atmosphere. Also, perfectly affordable. I'm highly recommending this place.
Despite what Google reviews says, this niche restaurant is not closed on Tuesdays but open 7 days a week providing excellent quality food with a first class service from the kitchen delivered in style by the multi talented bar and dining manager Ryan and his team.
We went at a super busy time and they were still great! Good food, good service, and amazing interior
I am about you tell you something really stupid:
I avoided going into Cats for the past 3 years cause I actually thought the restaurant had CATS🫣🥲 and I am terrified cats!
Anyway, worth the wait. More than the food the hospitality was A1 and I have to mention Dang- a sweet sweet lady who feeds you like your ma/grandma would!
Sweet smile and so enthusiastic about her job!
Coming to the food-
The Menu is detailed and lots to choose from.
I had a green thai curry- which was ok.
The coconut rice was really good and a must try!
We also ordered a vegetarian started platter which was filling and alot of variety.
The vanilla shake is also nice.
Good seating and the place soon filled up!
But again do drop by for Dang!
Best Authentic Thai Food in London. You Know a Thai restaurant is good when Thai people eat there. I am from Thailand, and have eaten Thai food all over London but never as good as at cats. If you want real authentic Thai food it has to be cats. Take it from a Thai who loves to eat. Easy 5*, and service comes with a smile. Best Thai food outside of Thailand.
Nice, very nice. Service was a little slow, but I think as we (4 adults and 2 children) walked in so did a few others so it was busy all of a sudden. All the chicken is halal. The decor is lovely. Now to the food. Me and the kids ordered chicken wings, chicken basket and chicken satay for starter's. I loved it, so much so that I shouldn't have even bothered with a main, I got my usual garlic chicken stir fry with vegetable rice. Rice was spot on as was the portion, the chicken stir fry could've been a little bit better. My wife got pad Thai with prawns, she was disappointed on this occasion, she's been eating here for the last 6 weeks every Monday and swears by it that's it really good. Nothing to really complain about other then the slow service tbh. If your in the area definitely worth a try.
