Recently reopened with a whole new range of menu and nice deco! The omurice dishes, especially their curry katsu chicken and fried chicken are a must try, it has been fried to perfection. My new go to place for lunch now. It is healthy, quick and delicious. They have very friendly staff too!
Have been told about this new Taiwanese restaurant by my hairdresser and my friends. I have been planning to give it a try for a few weeks now.
The place is not big but they haven't put in many tables, probably around 11 seats in total so it actually feels quite roomy.
There are quite a lot of attractive traditional dishes on the menu but we got some help from our friendly waitress. She suggested two must try dishes so we went with that plus some others as side dishes.
We ordered:
Braised beef noodle (recommended by waitress)
Braised pork belly with rice (recommended by waitress)
Salt and pepper fried chicken nuggets
Grilled Taiwanese pork sausage
The braised pork belly with rice was very nice, the pork belly was picked and cooked nicely. It was not greasy at all and the flavouring was just right.
The braised beef noodle came with nice soup base and it was not bad at all.
However, I will prefer if they would use beef shin instead of beef brisket. Mainly because shin is normally used in other places and also it is leaner. Another reason is because it is not easy to find the same cut of beef brisket in the U.K.
The fried chicken nuggets were actually my favourite, it was crispy on the outside but inside the chicken was tender and the salt and pepper flavour goes well with it.
The grilled sausage was ok also.
The the main dishes were around £7 and the sides were like £3 which is quite reasonable and the portion should is ok if you are not a big eater. You do have the option to add extra noddles which for me was necessary.
The place do reminds me of the kind of small cosy fast food restaurant in Asia which I haven't really found many in the U.K.
Best to get there by tube as parking is a bit of a nightmare there. Just turn right as you walk out of Colindale station, cross the road , walk right and you will see it at the corner within 15 seconds. It is basically next to the large Mediterranean restaurant. They do takeaway as well but no deliveries at the moment.
One of the best Taiwanese bento and ambience I visited in London ❤️❤️
The 3 cups chicken is very tender and full of flavor! The bean sauce is exactly suitable with the rice! The sweetness of the waitress are the best experience I’ve ever have! Will visit again with my friends and family for sure!!!
If you're in the neighbour, or not, do make an effort to taste the wonderful cooking of this small by delightful Taiwanese cafe. I didn't have the opportunity to dine in (due to COVID) however, when I visited the restaurant to collect my meals, the interior has been designed simple but makes you feel welcomed and ready to enjoy a hearty meal. We purchased three special dishes (as per the photos) and was just blown away by the quality of the ingredients such as fresh fish, veggies and balanced portions of healthy condiments such as salt, oil, etc. This is truely a healthy style home cooking as evident through the taste and style. The owner and staff are very welcoming, hospitable and really makes your experience memorable. I highly recommend this place if you haven't experienced it yet. Support your local. P.S. My photos just don't do the meal justice as it in takeaway containers.
Recently relaunched and rebranded as Buy & Bite x Mibento. This conveniently located store near Colindale serves amazing and tasty food which you can eat in or on the go. Superb for office lunches or a quick catch up with friends. Super friendly staff as well who are attentive and helpful. Probably one of my favourite eateries in NW london!
Mibento is an absolute must try if you are in the area or craving for good Taiwanese food. The resto has a cosy yet artistic feel with friendly and hospitable staff. I highly recommend the fried popcorn chicken (warning it's addictive and finger lickin' good) if you in a mood for a snack and the braised beef noodle for a hearty meal. I'll definitely be back!
A family run cafe that doesn’t only serve scrumptious authentic Taiwanese dishes, but also offers a warm and welcoming environment for their customers.
🍜The beef noodles come in a moreish tomato and beef broth that warms you up instantly in the wet and cold British weather.
🍗The fried chicken is always a popular Taiwanese snack; most places make it too salty or have too much batter on, but I like how they do it here - crisp on the outside while preserving the juiciness of the meat inside.
🌯The soft and eggy Taiwanese pancake makes a perfect combo with the meat floss and spam filling - definitely a soul food material.
🥤The milk tea is not too overly sweet and is quite refreshing to have alongside the savoury dishes.
The way the owners and the staff interact with their customers is beyond friendliness, and adds to the gastronomic experience. It made you almost felt like you were being invited to an old friend’s place for a hearty home-cooked meal. A real hidden gem in London!
Ordered two rice bowls, one tofu green curry and one Korean chicken. Love the crispy chicken and tofu plus eggs covered rice. Price is cheaper, and dishes are big. Will order more in the future.
The guy who prepared the food was kind and helpful with choosing the food.
Quality and taste was also great, pricing maybe not the ideal for this food but was worth trying.
Had the teriyaki chicken omurice bowl, it was so tasty and very filling for a lunch meal, good value for £8.95. Small shop so it fills up quickly but I want to come back to try more of the menu!!
