Magpie & Stump - London - Photo album

Decent City centre pub. Good selection of ales, which tends to rotate. Wide selection of spirits too. Bar is atmospheric considering its really a modern building, and the outdoor area makes the most of where it is. On the pricey side, but it is reasonable for the location.
Nice ambiance, good selection of ales and super friendly staff. Love the historical connection as pub has been on that spot since 1550 and has been mentioned in Dickens's Pickwick Papers. Especial recommendation for landlord's dog who kept us company. A bit of a Tardis as there are 2 more levels bel
Best place to chill and have fun! Foods are drinks are really awesome, working staffs are very friendly and helpful. I loved the Beef Wellington!
Amazing selection of craft beers on tap and in cans. Really friendly staff and they let me sample a few beers before deciding on the voodoo hazy which tasted really fresh. Nice outside seating area to relax in the heatwave
Very friendly staff. Tasty pub grub lunch, generous portions. A little pricey, but given the location and pleasant, comfortable dining area, not bad. It's a modern building (part of an office block,) on the site of an old pub of the same name. Pub proper on ground floor, upstairs for dining table
The Rioja was nice and the bar tender seemed to choose a vase and fill it up for a large. Not cheap but good vibe. When it's loud it's buzzy bit that's good for a Friday work drink. Stayed until 10pm. Apparently when it's a bit quieter the locals enjoy board games as it's pretty spacious with lo
Always a good choice for a few quiet pints. The pub is nicely tucked away so it never really gets too busy. I love the history of the Magpie and of course the beers on sale. Food is also pretty decent for such a small pub.
Despite the modern exterior of the building, the bar upstairs inside has a real old pub feel to it. Some old fashion charm, gives the place character and warmth.. Shame that the hand pull beers were not available on this occasion, but alternate beers and lagers are available on tap. Will look to ret
Walking to the local area I was overwhelmed by the history and that is just what the bar used to it's advantage by proudly showing the fact that the area was used for public executions giving the true nostalgic London feel. The bar has a great buzz in the later hours on a Friday Night truly giving o
Great staff, and although busy at Christmas, very enjoyable. Food was at the standard of expect for a kind of good pub/gastro-pub. Only downside, music was a bit loud... I'm not sometime who minds a bit of music.. But was difficult to hear others across the table.
A pub with standards. Bouncers dealt politely but firmly with some drunken louts demanding entry. Nice to see there are pubs that put the safety of the staff before the bottom line. You can also get a really nice glass of house merlot which supports the National Literary Trust. Cheers!
Top notch pub- went there for a leaving drinks last week in the middle floor- impressed with the feel and look of the place. Good range of quality ales but also good wine selection and cocktail list- friendly staff which makes a change! They have gone for the history of the site and its connections
Very nice bar staff, owner is also very accommodating. Due to the high level of service, I have held several events here now. You can see the history from the moment you step inside. It's an incredible place to grab food & drinks. * Walking distance from St. Pauls, Blackfriars and City Thameslink s
Quiet on a Tuesday, which was nice, good beer selection and one of the best Pies & Mash I've had in my 20 years in The City. Absolutely fantastic. How did I now know about this place before... -__- I will, at the very least, be back to try all their pies...
Nice pub just by the Old Bailey and short walk from St Paul's. Decent beer comfy seating. Do food but I did not eat there. Food being served did smell good though.
Amezing placevwith the history with a new look free house
We had a work social there and it was really lovely. The staff is lovely, the drinks were served very quickly and we had a great time.
Excellent pub with great selection of ales, beers and cider. Spoilt for choice! Also resident pub dog is a big handsome good boy!
