Wonderful take on classic Italian cuisine. Some nicely paired wines. Warm and cozy ambience for the snug wintery evenings. Highly recommend!

All branches of Vinoteca have a special January 2018 offer on the menu of bavette steak, fries, watercress and horseradish cream with a small glass of Malbec for £15.

It's a pleasant high ceilinged space with low lighting, soft background music and the sound of not too raucous conversation.  Tables are a comfortable distance apart, so you can't follow the conversation adjacent.  Service was casual but impeccable.  Fresh cutlery brought between courses and the table brushed clear of crumbs but they don't hover over you in an obsequious fashion.

We started with a trendy new food of crisp flowering sprouts from the bar snacks section of the menu.  This is a new vegetable of brussel sprouts crossed with kale.  These were delicious, but having been deep fried I would imagine they probably lost their super food status.   The crunchy florettes had been tossed in celery salt.  A big portion for £3.50 that should be shared.

I've had the bavette steak at the Farringdon branch previously and thought it was great.  I got my discounted steak served rare tonight.  It had been charred at a very high temperature so smokey and caramelized.  Meat was sliced thin which is a good strategy for serving a cut that is very flavourful but not particularly tender.  Fries were perfect.  Large handcut chips were crunchy on the outside and pillowy inside.  Watercress was naked (no vinaigrette) which I liked, given the richness of the chips.  Horseradish sauce was pleasant if nothing special.  My only criticism would be a preference for a more labour intensive sauce, such as Bearnaise.  The accompanying malbec was quite soft.

My companion had two starters for dinner.  Onion squash and sage soup as well as mushrooms on toast.  The soup was quite redolent with sage, and my companion found the sage over powering so picked the leaves out.  The mushrooms were mostly a mixture of portabello's and oyster mushrooms.  Very tasty and served on a thick slice of griddled foccacia.  Everything was piping hot.

We are not embarassed about ordering the cheapest bottle of red on a menu.  The temperanillo for £18.50 was actually very smooth.  Be aware that if you order the house red, it is a more expensive bottle at £22.  The wine markup is modest here.   The in house shop price for the tempranillo was £7.95.

Impeccable service, pleasant atmosphere, perfectly executed simple food, good sized portions, modest wine markup.  What's not to like?  Dinner for two came to £58 including service.

We couldn't be happier with our choice to have our wedding reception at Vinoteca City. When our original venue fell through just five months before the wedding, we stumbled upon this amazing space, and we're so glad we did! Communication: Lisa was on top of everything from start to finish in the planning. She didn't miss a beat and was always super quick to respond. And on the big day Fabio was there to make sure everything was running smoothly, regularly checking in on us. The handover between them was seamless. Thanks to their amazing planning and top-notch service, we didn't have to worry about a single thing. They had it all under control to make sure we enjoyed our day. Location: It's so stunning. The place itself is so beautiful that you don't need a ton of decorations. Plus, it's nestled in the Bank Station area with all the amazing architecture, so having a wedding there on the weekend is a win-win. It's quieter, and you can really soak up the gorgeous surroundings. We really recommend popping out for a few sunset snaps, the light hits all the buildings beautifully. Food: They gave us so much flexibility with the menus. We recommend checking out their previous seasonal offerings to make the most of their amazing chefs. You can find dishes that suit your taste perfectly, they've got some yummy vegan options too. They made sure to cater to all of our guests' dietary needs. We even asked for poutine as a late-night snack, and they pulled it off without a hitch. No questions asked. Service: The service at Vinoteca City is faultless. They had a lot more staff than we expected which really elevated the service for us and our guests. We never felt like we were waiting for anything. They magically appeared with Champagne and wine when we needed refills, and the canapés were always timed perfectly. They really went above and beyond to make us feel special. Value: We only had 35 guests as we had intended for our reception to be intimate but you could probably fit triple that amount and possibly more. If a city wedding is what you're looking for, this is the best value there is! If you're looking for a recommendation, look no further. We wholeheartedly recommend Vinoteca City. The whole experience was incredible and perfectly catered to our needs. From start to finish, they had it all covered. Trust us, you won't be disappointed.

This place is not just a wine bar/restaurant. This place is more than that. If you are looking for a party venue, this is the place. Great, convenience and safe location for you and your guests, wines are of course very nice, but foods also phenomenal, service…? Doesn’t matter when you visit, the service is high quality constantly. The event manager is very helpful. We had our wedding in Nov, and it was a speechless. Not just us enjoyed the day at Vinoteca, our guests don’t stop talking about how great & lovely looking the venue was, service was extremely high standard & what an amazing tasty foods they had for our wedding breakfast. The journey of organizing our big day with the event manager was so smooth, stress free, supportive and she made us feel very special throughout. Words cannot be described the amazing time we all had. You must just try this place!

Had the private dining room here last night. It's up on a mezzanine so there's always a really long wait for drinks. I asked the guy to just bring up 12 pints of lager so we didn't have to ask over and over & he didn't have to keep going up and down. They need to install a dumb waiter, would be SO much easier for everyone. Food was lovely though and the clients all really enjoyed the evening.

Not very busy when I arrived. The trout was tasty if a little dry. The coq au vin delicious once I had used some of the bread to soak up the sauce. The best bits were the crumble and the wine. Will be back to try some of the extensive wine list.

The loft upstairs looks like a bookable venue! It was a really busy Thursday night and I was so happy they managed to squeeze us in for a hightop bar seat at the window. Must always remember to book ahead! The wine selection is immense, which makes sense for their name! We ordered the house white wine, it turned out not to be our favorite, but we do intend to return to try some more. Service was slow but very understandable on such a busy evening. The staff are upbeat, professional, and really do make an effort with all guests.

Good food for good value. I went with some colleagues from work for lunch. We had the set menu with three courses. Good portions and nice presentation. We also had a bottle of wine and a dessert. All for roughly £20. Quick service. The interiors and the atmosphere are quite elegant too.
