Red Sea Restaurant is a basic, no-frills restaurant but what it lacks in atmosphere, it makes up for it with warm, friendly service and delicious food. The three of us shared a large Red Sea platter, a mammoth plate of injera topped with seven different meat and vegetable mains. It also came with a basket of injera scrolls. I wasn't familiar enough with the food to identify each item individually, but I can confirm that everything on that plate had its own unique flavour, and they were all mouthwatering and tasty. We couldn't even finish the whole platter and rolled out of Red Sea in a glorious food coma for just £10 pp. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Next door to one of my favourite places, it's most definitely convenient to have such great lamb stews full of spices and a pleasant outdoor setting.
I am not one to give reviews but so far there are some shops that I have reviewed that I deem to be worthy of my opinion. Will pop in again soon at my next up most convenience!

There's a little restaurant on the Shepherd's Bush end of the Uxbridge Road with the brightest red and yellow sign I've ever burned my retinas on. That's Red Sea Restaurant, a cosy place serving food from Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and Yemen. The countries seem a bit random but a quick peek at Google maps confirms that the countries are all clustered together, with the Red Sea acting as the boundary between Africa and Asia. I'd visited the restaurant a year or two ago with a colleague but hadn't been back since to really try the menu. I reckon we've made a good start of it recently and it's now a firm favourite of ours. After meeting at Westfield one evening after work, Blai and I headed to Red Sea to dine rather than go to one of the chain restaurants at the mall (we usually head to the Byron's there but we weren't feeling like burgers). Keen to try as much as possible on our (sort of) first visit, we opted to share their Red Sea special dish, a mix of seven Abyssinian dishes (£22) .
This is a little gem. The cuisines you are going to get here are a mix of North African as well as Yemeni. The coffee are excellent here , one of the best in town , according to me. I love having Chicken meal here which is my usual with aromatic rice. If you are looking for good starters then you must try Shirazi Salad here and for a good coffee choose The Abyssinian , you will love my choice.
This place is decorated with Kitsch which is art or design using popular or cultural icons. It is gaudy decoration and pleasingly distasteful and unsubstantial. Not for everyone but a hidden gem for admirers of such place. The platter my friend and I shared was amazingly delicious and the spices were definitely unique! Definitely coming back again.
I make sure that I visit this place at least once every month. I generally have a liking for Ethiopian cuisines and have always found their food absolutely delicious. The staff is amiable and the service is also spot on. You should definitely try this restaurant. It is definitely worth a visit.
Visited the Red Sea earlier this day and I am impressed by their quality and quantity of meals. The meals are priced reasonably and you can have a great time and that too in your budget. I had ordered a sea bass grilled which turned out to be a little over cooked but it was garnished very well. The only area they can certainly improve upon is the "food is not that spicy" part. Apart from that its a nice place to eat. I am definitely visiting this place again. Thumbs up!

A place that entices and attracts you right from its Big bright red and yellow board ! The eye catching sign will lead you to this warm, cozy and inviting place serving a number dishes of cuisines from Ethiopia, Somalia and Yemen. The food is as enticing as the invitation!
We came in on a Sunday evening. Service is very friendly. We had never tried Eritrean food before and it was amazing. Legit the best rice I’ve ever had in my life. The vegetarian dishes with injera were so nice. The chicken 10/10. I saw a few other people who were having whole fish grilled with rice and I will definitely be coming back for that 🤤 Thank you for a great meal!

I had lentil soup that was very rich and smooth, delicious and big plate of veggies, I couldn't finish it all. Friendly service, home atmosphere, love it and highly recommend it 👌
Traditional east African restaurant with Somali, Eritrean, Ethiopian and Yemeni dishes. Therefore they have a variety of dishes to try out from rice and meat to injera and curry. I would highly recommend the lamb Mandi or the injera and mixed curries.
We went yesterday. We visited this town first time,we were just passing through the road when we noticed this restaurant. A decent size restaurant with seating area we orderd 'Lamb Mandi' and 'Chicken Mandi' after Saudia Arab I first time liked anywhere Mandi 😀 so delicious meat is well cooked so tasty 😋

We have used Red Sea to cater for several events now and the food and service is absolutely impeccable. The food is the best we have ever tasted and everyone at the events rave about the food. The prices are very reasonable and the owner always so kind and helpful. I would highly highly recommend!
Delicious Lamb Mandi, very tender coupled with flavourful and soft rice. The dishes on the menu were a rarity to find especially the areeka - a further plus would have been more cream on it.
Showed up for a pre-theatre meal without a booking on a Tuesday night with two friends. Despite the restaurant being busy the owner greeted us kindly and did everything she could to seat us promptly. A lovely man moved to a different table to vacate the booth for us at the front.
Food was delicious (we tried the sea bass, mixed vegetrian on injera and spicy chicken on injera, with a fata mous for dessert) with huge portions and plenty of flavour. Staff were helpful in explaining dishes / allergens upon request and provided tupperware for us to take away leftovers.
Will definitely be recommending to friends and coming back next time I'm on Uxbridge Road.

Our offices ordered catering (Eritrean food) with Red Sea Restaurant. Great service, Idris was a dream to work with, he brought Selam who helped serve the food, she was just as great! it was an absolute HIT with everyone in the office, the food was amazing! Will order again!
