I ordered Farmer J for lunch today from Uber Eats and it was so stellar. I ordered the tofu steak with the field grains, grilled broccoli, and the root vegetables side. All three were fantastic! I personally enjoyed the tofu, but it could have been pressed and cooked more in my opinion. It worked for me but it may not work for someone who is used to very cooked tofu, as it was still quite white and squishy. The sides were spectacular- no complaints. I also got the peanut butter cups and, while they weren't what I was expecting, they were so nice to finish the meal off. My favorite part was that after the meal I felt great rather than bogged down. While I am vegan, even sometimes when I order vegan food it will still drain me a little bit rather than boost me up like a meal should do. The portion was perfect
Great concept and amazing healthy food! I would highly recommend it!
Situated in Leadenhall, a 10 minute walk from London Bridge, Farmer J is bringing a whole new meaning to healthy eating on the go. Their offerings include a delicious round up of sweet and savoury breakfast bites, from coconut porridge and smashed avocado on toast to shakshuka and harissa spiced omelette rolls. It doesn’t stop there, though; delicious soups and salads are aplenty. But it's the field trays where Farmer J really stands out.
A good breakfast is the key to a productive day, so last Friday I started the morning with an energy-boosting feast at Farmer J. Based in Leadenhall, just opposite the market, the newly-opened Farmer J is all about healthy fast food done well. Almost everything is made from scratch by chefs from morning to evening in the open kitchen using fresh, seasonal ingredients and free-range, prime meats sourced from quality high welfare-farms.
Good food, friendly staffed, but expensive for what it is
200g (at best) of chicken, spinach, cauliflower and broccoli will run you £11. It’s central London so expected.
Food is great quality, can build a very healthy meal with very quick and friendly service.
Nicely filled tray at Farmer J. I love this place and whenever I am in the office, I go there, no exception. It’s the healthiest meal you can get, super fresh and tasty. I especially like the attention to detail, the seeds nuts and herbs added to the meals are a massive differentiator to all the other lunch options out there. The staff is super friendly and even when there is a massive queue outside, I’ve never waited more than a few mins. If there was one thing I’d change, it would be the plastic lid but I’m sure you’re working on that already. Keep up the work, it’s much appreciated, thanks!
I only discovered this a couple of weeks ago and I've already gone back. It doesn't cost more than lunch anywhere else these days but there is so much flavour and very filling. You can see for yourself! My only criticism is I hope they come out with another veg main. It gets a bit boring having the same tofu each day where the meat have 3 options.
This is such an amazing lunch place in the heart of London City 🥰 freshly cooked healthy and tasty - all three points at the same time!! And a nice view from first floor
Busy place to grab lunch in the City. There's seating upstairs. In the middle is a long table if you don't mind sharing with strangers or along the edges you can have a table to yourself or at the window bar people watching outside.
Lots of options either set trays or you can choose a grain, main and 2 sides. There's treats as well as drinks.
Although the majority of the food seems healthy you should check out the nutritional information online when building your own bowls. You could end up with lunch being pretty much your whole day's calorie allowance....
We tried the new Baharat chicken, which was good although not packing a punch with the flavour. The seasonal mac n cheese was naughty but nice. I liked the miso hispi and aubergine.
We enjoyed one of the Fieldtray lunches. If you’re looking for healthy food in the City of London or take-away lunch places near The Monument, then you must check out Farmer J. I haven't tried the evening meals or breakfast yet ... but a good place for a healthy lunch.
Picked a 'base' of rice and the 'main' of spiced chicken that went on top, and potatoes and roasted broccoli as the sides. Went well together, chicken tasted great. Good selection of bases, mains and sides, including various salads. Price was ok for what you got, not a bargain though. Overall, would recommend.
Queue is a bit long during lunch time but it’s definitely worth to wait!
Got one of their fieldtrays with Baharat chicken, veggies and salad. They have options of choosing your base (grains or spinach) protein, two salads/ veggies and other optional extras like eggs or avocado. The food was very delicious, very well balanced spice levels and a substantial portion size. The ingredients work very well and the other options looked very appealing. I will definitely be visiting again.
The tastiest lunch you can buy in London! If it wasn’t as pricey, I would be eating there everyday!
